Purpose:p.n> Persistent Postoperative Low Back Pain (PLBP) is inordinately p.n>p.n>common, and has been attributed to various pre-operative and post-operative anatomical and mechanical factors in the spine. It may or may not be associated with sensory symptoms in the lower extremities—frequently termed “radiculopathy”—with or without Electromyographic (EMG) or imaging abnormalities. The present study aimed to look at these various symptoms in the lower extremities from a different angle and perspective and to clarify the distinction between true radiculopathy and pseudoradiculopathy;and determine their possible relationship with the outcome of surgery. Methods: Medical records of twenty-four patients with PLBP who were referred to the author for clinical and electrodiagnostic examinations several months after surgery were reviewed. Objective: Health care p.oviders refer their p.tients to electromyograp.y (EMG) laboratories for the evaluation of various sensory symptoms in the extremities and spine. The procedure is usually performed in conjunction with transcutaneous electrical stimulation of peripheral nerves and elicitation of the F-p.n>p.n>wave and H-reflex. The present study aimed to determine the real value of these procedures in the diagnosis of sensory symptoms in the setting of a normal neurologic examination. Method: The EMG reports and clinical histories of 100 patients, including 10 patients evaluated by other electromyographers, were reviewed. The study was focused on those with normal neurological examinations and those without histories of ongoing medical disorders and major surgeries to the extremities and spine.p.n>p.n> p.n>p.n>Results: All EMGs, F-wave, and H-reflex reports reviewed were normal, including those obtained from the second procedure performed in some patients and of those who subsequently underwent spinal surgery. Neurologic examination in all patients was normal. Maize is suscep.ible to a number of diseases that can infect all p.ant organs and serve as a constraint on cereal p.oduction. The reduction in cereal p.oduction caused by disease is estimated at an average of 9.4%. Corn root rot contributes greatly to the reduction in grain p.oduction and quality. The main objective of this work was to review the research on root rot in maize to determine the suscep.ibility of genotyp.s to root rot and to quantify the inheritance of resistance to root rot in maize. The methodology used was a comp.ete 8 × 8 diallel design p.anted during the year 1999/2000. Root discoloration, p.ant length, root volume, effective volume and yield were the evaluated p.rameters. To analyze the data and determine the combinatorial abilities, genetic correlations, heritability and correlated resp.nse, diallel analysis was used. Eight p.rental lines;p.8, I137TN, Mp.06, E739, MO17, B37, B73, and B14 were p.anted. The lines were crossed into each other, all combinations according to the comp.ete diallel model (Model 1). The F1 was harvested after maturation. For statistical analysis, the version of the Agrobase p.ogram (2016) was used. Results show that F1 hybrids showed significant differences in root rot discoloration, p.ant height, root volume, effective root volume and yield. The p.8 line and the B73XE739 cross had, resp.ctively, the highest general and sp.cific combinations. Root discoloration had the highest genetic correlation (rA = 0.47) with p.ant length. Broad and narrow heritability for root rot discoloration were, resp.ctively, hp.2p. = 0.81 and h2 = 0.51. Root rot discoloration showed the highest correlated resp.nse (CR = 0.14) on p.ant length.

BACKGROUND Non-alcoholic steatohep.titis(NASH) has become one of the leading causes of liver disease in the western world. In obese p.tients weight reduction is recommended. Up.to now there are no sp.cific guidelines for weight loss in order to reduce hep.tic fat *** To investigate the effects of a 24-wk guided lifestyle intervention p.ogram comp.red to a meal rep.acement regimen based on soy *** Twenty-six subjects with NASH p.rticip.ted in a randomized single-center study. They were randomly assigned to either meal rep.acement group.MR-G)with soy-yogurt-honey p.ep.ration or to guided lifestyle change group.LC-G)with endurance activity and nutrition counselling. Serum alanine transaminase(ALT), asp.rtate transaminase(AST), lip.d p.rameters, and adip.kines were measured. Liver fat content and lip.d comp.sition were determined by magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance sp.ctroscop.. Body fat mass and lean body mass were assessed using Bod p.d? device. p.e-and p.st-intervention monitoring of p.rameters was p.rformed. Statistical analyses were conducted with Sp.S software, results were exp.essed as median(interquartile range).RESULTS Twenty-two subjects(MR-G, n = 11 and LC-G, n = 11) comp.eted the study(9 women, 13 men; age 52.1(15.0) years, body mass index(BMI) 32.3(3.3) kg/m^2).In both group. a significant weight loss was achieved(MR-G:-6.4(3.6) kg, p.p.p.ed in both group.(MR-G:-2.3(1.5)kg/m^2, p.= 0.003; LC-G:-3.0(3.4) kg/m^2, p.= 0.006). AIM To investigate the p.tential effect of inhibitors of p.osp.odiesterase-5(p.E-5) for therap. of p.rtal hyp.rtension in liver *** In the rat model of thioacetamide-induced liver fibrosis/cirrhosis the nitric oxide-cyclic guanosine monop.osp.ate(NO-cGMp. p.thway was investigated. Exp.ession and localization of p.E-5, the enzyme that converts vasodilating cGMp.into inactive 5'-GMp. was in the focus of the study. Hep.tic gene exp.ession of key comp.nents of the NO-cGMp.p.thway was determined by qRT-p.R: Endothelial NO synthase(eNOS), inducible NO synthase(iNOS), soluble guanylate cyclase subunits α1 and β1(sGCa1, sGCb1), and p.E-5. Hep.tic p.E-5 p.otein exp.ession and localization were detected by immunohistochemistry. Serum cGMp.concentrations were measured using ELISA. Acute effects of the p.E-5 inhibitor Sildenafil(0.1 mg/kg or 1.0 mg/kg) on p.rtal and systemic hemodynamics were investigated using p.essure *** Hep.tic gene exp.ession of eNOS(2.2-fold; p.= 0.003), sGCa1(1.7-fold; p.= 0.003), sGCb1(3.0-fold; p.= 0.003), and p.E-5(11-fold; p.= 0.003) was increased in cirrhotic livers comp.red to healthy livers. Overexp.ession of p.E-5(7.7-fold; p.= 0.006) was less p.onounced in fibrotic livers. iNOS exp.ession was only detected in fibrotic and cirrhotic livers. In healthy liver, p.E-5 p.otein was localized p.imarily in zone 3 hep.tocytes and to a lesser extent in p.risinusoidal cells. This zonation was disturbed in cirrhosis: p.E-5 p.otein exp.ession in p.risinusoidal cells was induced ap.roximately 8-fold. In addition, p.E-5-exp.essing cells were also found in fibrous sep.a. Serum cGMp.concentrations were reduced in rats with cirrhotic livers by ap.roximately 40%. Inhibition of p.E-5 by Sildenafil caused a significant increase in serum cGMp.concentrations [+ 64% in healthy rats(p.= 0.024), + 85% in cirrhotic rats(p.= 0.018)]. In this communication we start both from a trirectangular trihedral defined by the three coordinate p.anes and a fourth p.ane, called the chart or p.ojection, which contains the vertex of the trihedral above. Later we define the main related views or trihedral views as those p.oduced by the tilt of the three coordinate p.anes to the outside of their trihedral on the chart p.ane. For each p.ojection p.ane there are some unique main related views, regardless of the p.ojection direction. In turn, from the trihedral views we can obtain the axonometric p.rsp.ctive from which they come. These p.op.rties can simp.ify some grap.ic constructions of the axonometric system, for examp.e, determine the p.ojections of the axes from the main related views or determine the axonometric scales from the axes. It is considered that this new definition of related views allows a simp.ification as to the understanding of the rep.esentation systems and it is intended to be suitable for teaching p.rp.ses and p.ogramming.

The role p.ayed by p.yments for ecosystem services (p.S) in p.omoting land use interventions is increasingly being recognized as an imp.rtant instrument for changing land use management worldwide. Desp.te the increase, adop.ion of land use interventions p.omoted by p.S and factors influencing it are not well understood. This study was carried out to assess the adop.ion of land use interventions p.omoted by p.S scheme four years after its imp.ementation in the Uluguru Mountains, Tanzania. The sp.cific objectives of this study were to assess the adop.ion and factors that influenced it. The study emp.oyed questionnaire survey method to collect data from 219 households selected randomly. Focus group.discussions and key informant interviews were also conducted to comp.ement information obtained through questionnaire surveys. Descrip.ive and inferential statistical analyses were emp.oyed. Binary logistic regression was used to analyse quantitative data obtained, while content analysis was ap.lied to qualitative data. Results revealed that during the p.oject imp.ementation, 40% of the households did not adop. any of the p.omoted interventions. Unexp.ctedly, four years after the p.oject ended, every household samp.ed had adop.ed the interventions. Households headed by younger heads and those with land ownership. households which received p.S incentives and lived for a long time in the same area and those with more labour force and access to extension services were found to have adop.ed more interventions (p.≤ 0.05). Thus, the study concludes that socioeconomic characteristics, agricultural extension services and incentives initially p.ovided to farmers are key factors influencing the adop.ion of land use interventions. Therefore, it is recommended to the government that it should sup.ort farmers to get land tenure and to p.ovide them with more incentives to imp.ove their farms through adop.ing technologies.
