e-learning behavior data indicates several students’activities on the e-learning platform such as the number of accesses to a set of resources and number of participants in *** article proposes a new analytics systemto support academic evaluation for students via e-learning activities to overcome the challenges faced by traditional learning *** proposed e-learning analytics system includes a new deep forest *** consists of multistage cascade random forests with minimal hyperparameters compared to traditional deep neural *** developed forest model can analyze each student’s activities during the use of an e-learning platform to give accurate expectations of the student’s performance before ending the semester and/or the final *** have been conducted on the Open University Learning Analytics Dataset(OULAD)of 32,593 *** proposed deep model showed a competitive accuracy score of 98.0%compared to artificial intelligence-based models,such as ConvolutionalNeuralNetwork(CNN)and Long Short-TermMemory(LSTM)in previous *** allows academic advisors to support expected failed students significantly and improve their academic level at the right ***,the proposed analytics system can enhance the quality of educational services for students in an innovative e-learning framework.

This paper studies the dynamics of a new fractional-order discrete system based on the Caputo-like difference *** is the first study to explore a three-dimensional fractional-order discrete chaotic system without *** phase portrait,bifurcation diagrams,and largest Lyapunov exponents,it is shown that the proposed fractional-order discrete system exhibits a range of different dynamical ***,different tests are used to confirm the existence of chaos,such as 0-1 test and C0 *** addition,the quantification of the level of chaos in the new fractional-order discrete system is measured by the approximate entropy ***,based on the fractional linearization method,a one-dimensional controller to stabilize the new system is *** results are presented to validate the findings of the paper.

This article introduces a new medical internet of things(IoT)framework for intelligent fall detection system of senior people based on our proposed deep forest *** cascade multi-layer structure of deep forest classifier allows to generate new features at each level with minimal hyperparameters compared to deep neural ***,the optimal number of the deep forest layers is automatically estimated based on the early stopping criteria of validation accuracy value at each generated *** suggested forest classifier was successfully tested and evaluated using a public SmartFall dataset,which is acquired from three-axis accelerometer in a *** includes 92781 training samples and 91025 testing samples with two labeled classes,namely non-fall and *** results of our deep forest classifier demonstrated a superior performance with the best accuracy score of 98.0%compared to three machine learning models,i.e.,K-nearest neighbors,decision trees and traditional random forest,and two deep learning models,which are dense neural networks and convolutional neural *** considering security and privacy aspects in the future work,our proposed medical IoT framework for fall detection of old people is valid for real-time healthcare application deployment.

Smart precision agriculture utilizes modern information and wireless communication technologies to achieve challenging agricultural ***,Internet of Things(IoT)technology can be applied to monitor and detect harmful insect pests such as red palm weevils(RPWs)in the farms of date palm *** this paper,we propose a new IoT-based framework for early sound detection of RPWs using fine-tuned transfer learning classifier,namely *** sound sensors,namely TreeVibes devices are carefully mounted on each palm trunk to setup wireless sensor networks in the *** trees are labeled based on the sensor node number to identify the infested ***,the acquired audio signals are sent to a cloud server for further on-line analysis by our fine-tuned deep transfer learning model,i.e.,*** proposed infestation classifier has been successfully validated on the public TreeVibes *** includes total short recordings of 1754 samples,such that the clean and infested signals are 1754 and 731 samples,*** to other deep learning models in the literature,our proposed InceptionResNet-V2 classifier achieved the best performance on the public database of TreeVibes audio *** resulted classification accuracy score was 97.18%.Using 10-fold cross validation,the fine-tuned InceptionResNet-V2 achieved the best average accuracy score and standard deviation of 94.53%and±1.69,*** the proposed intelligent IoT-aided detection system of RPWs in date palm farms is the main prospect of this research work.

Maturation of the 3′end of almost all eukaryotic messenger RNAs(m RNAs)requires cleavage and *** mammalian m RNAs are polyadenylated at different sites within the last exon,generating alternative polyadenylation(APA)isoforms that have the same coding region but distinct 3′untranslated regions(UTRs).The 3′UTR contains motifs that regulate m RNA metabolism;thus,changing the 3′UTR length via APA can significantly affect gene *** ossification is a central process in bone healing,but the impact of APA on gene expression during this process is ***,we report the widespread occurrence of APA,which impacts multiple pathways that are known to participate in bone ***,the progression of endochondral ossification involves global 3′UTR shortening,which is coupled with an increased abundance of shortened transcripts relative to other transcripts;these results highlight the role of APA in promoting gene expression during endochondral bone *** mechanistic studies of transcripts that undergo APA in the fracture callus revealed an intricate regulatory network in which APA enhances the expression of the collagen,type I,alpha 1(Col1a1)and Col1a2 genes,which encode the 2 subunits of the abundantly expressed protein collagen *** exerts this effect by shortening the 3′UTRs of the Col1a1 and Col1a2 m RNAs,thus removing the binding sites of mi R-29a-3p,which would otherwise strongly promote the degradation of both *** together,our study is the first to characterize the crucial roles of APA in regulating the 3′UTR landscape and modulating gene expression during fracture healing.

This work represents the first detailed study of an oil shale (OS) section from the Upper Campanian Amman Silicified Limestone (ASL) Formation in south-western part of Jordan. More than five meters of oil shale have been recorded. Using the petrography and geochemistry, this study aims to focus on such non-conventional types of oil shale rocks in Jordan and to shed some light on their composition and formational environment. Unlike oil shale from Maastrichtian to early Tertiary, this type of oil shale is highly dolomitized. The dolomite is diagenetic in origin. This oil shale type contains considerable amount of OM and remarkably enriched in some trace elements and shows quite low sulfur content. Results suggest that the formation of dolomite appears to be limited by the rate of organic matter oxidation.

Background:Liver ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury is a complex and multifactorial pathophysiological *** is well recognized that the membrane permeability transition pore(mPTP)opening of mitochondria plays a crucial role in cell death after I/R *** D(CypD)is a critical positive regulator of ***,the effect of CypD on the pathogenesis of liver I/R injury and whether CypD is a potential therapeutic target are still ***:We constructed liver-specific CypD knockout and AAV8-peptidyl prolyl isomerase F(PPIF)overexpression ***,a 70%liver I/R injury model was established in mice,with 90 min of ischemia and 6 h of *** liver function was detected by the level of serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase(alanine transaminase)and glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase(aspartate aminotransferase),the liver damage score and degree of necrosis were measured by hematoxylin and eosin(H&e)staining of liver *** oxygen species(ROS)staining,apoptosis,and autophagy-related molecules were used to detect apoptosis and autophagy during liver I/***:The liver-specific knockout of CypD alleviated necrosis and dysfunction in liver I/R injury,by reducing the excessive production of ROS,and inhibiting cell apoptosis and *** the contrary,overexpression of CypD exacerbated I/R-induced liver ***:We found that the downregulation of CypD expression alleviated liver I/R injury by reducing apoptosis and autophagy through caspase-3/Beclin1 crosstalk;in contrast,the upregulation of CypD expression aggravated liver I/R ***,interfering with the expression of CypD seems to be a promising treatment for liver I/R injury.
