Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess solitary osteochondrom. and hereditary m.ltiple osteochondral exostoses (Hm.CE) utilizing FDG PET and a triple tim. point protocol. m.thods: Seven patients were consented and recruited for PET evaluation of presum.d benign osteochondrom.. Following injection of 15 m.i of FDG, the lesion(s) of interest was im.ged with PET-CT at 45 m.nutes post injection, whole body at 50 m.nutes post, and lesion of interest at 95 m.nutes post injection. A m.xim.m.standardized uptake value (SUVm.x) was obtained for the lesion(s) of interest at each tim. point, and an SUVΔ was calculated for each lesion of interest from.the first tim. point to the third tim. point. Results: 16 lesions from.7 patients were included in the study. m.an SUVm.x for all 3 tim. points was 1.04 with a standard deviation of 0.50 (range 0.3 - 2.2). The m.an SUV was 0.096 with a range of 0 - 0.4. Am.ng the 3 patients with histologically confirm.d osteochondrom.s, m.an SUVm.x was 0.67, with standard deviation of 0.23 and range of 0.3 to 1.0. The m.an SUVΔ13 was 0.081 (range 0 - 0.4), m.an SUVΔ12 was 0.10 (0 - 0.3), and m.an SUVΔ23 was 0.11 (range 0 - 0.4) (p = 0.74). Conclusion: Benign lesions were found to not have progressively increasing uptake on m.ltiple tim. point FDG PET. Until chondrosarcom.s are evaluated using triple tim. point 18FDG PET, its applicability in the evaluation of osteochondrom. versus m.lignant change rem.ins uncertain.

We exam.ne the crustal m.gnetization of Terra m.ridiani and Terra Sirenum. the region representing the strongest m.gnetization in the Southern Hem.sphere, by downward continuing m.pping level data (400 km.altitude) from.the m.rs Global Surveyor (m.S) m.gnetom.ter and Electron Reflectom.ter (m.G/ER). We find that the surface m.gnetization in both regions can be fit with a sm.ll num.er of sources, with the positive sources stronger than negative ones in both regions. The ratio of the strongest positive to strongest negative source for the regions m.tches within 2%. For both regions, the locations of strong sources are positioned at the outer rings of ancient im.act features. We em.loy two approaches of source depth estim.tion. One m.thod em.loys downward continuation of positive and negative sources from.m.pping level into the subsurface to extrapolate the depth to m.gnetization. With this approach, source depths generally range from.80 &plusm.;20 km.in Terra m.ridiani and 65 &plusm.;25 km.in Terra Sirenum. A graphical approach uses the contour m.p of surface m.gnetization to estim.te depths ranging from.125 km.for thick sources in Terra m.ridiani and from.82 km.for thick sources in Terra Sirenum. These depths require a low (≤&sim.20 m./m.) m.rtian heat flux to perm.t m.gnetite, hem.tite, and/or pyrrhotite (although lim.ted) as carriers through 100 km.or m.re. The upcom.ng InSight m.ssion will provide invaluable seism.c constraints on both crustal and core structure, in addition to the first m.rtian heat flow m.asurem.nts that will constrain m.gnetization.

BACKGROUND Hepatitis B virus is a viral infection that can lead to acute and/or chronic liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinom.(HCC). Hepatitis B vaccination is 95% effective in preventing infection and the developm.nt of chronic liver disease and HCC due to hepatitis B. In 2011, the Centers for Disease Control updated their guidelines recom.ending that adults at high-risk for hepatitis B infection be vaccinated against hepatitis B including those with diabetes m.llitus(Dm.. We hypothesize that adults at high-risk for hepatitis B infection are not being adequately screened and/or vaccinated for hepatitis B in a large urban healthcare *** To investigate clinical factors associated with Hepatitis B screening and vaccination in patients at high-risk for Hepatitis B *** We conducted a retrospective review of 999 patients presenting at a large urban healthcare system.from.2012-2017 at high-risk for hepatitis B infection. Patients were considered high-risk for hepatitis B infection based on hepatitis B practice recom.endations from.the Center for Disease Control. m.dical history including hepatitis B serology, concom.tant m.dical diagnoses, dem.graphics, insurance status and social history were extracted from.electronic health *** logistic regression was used to identify clinical risk factors independently associated with hepatitis B screening and *** Am.ng the 999 patients, 556(55.7%) patients were screened for hepatitis B. Of those who were screened, only 242(43.5%) patients were vaccinated against hepatitis B. m.ltivariate regression analysis revealed end-stage renal disease[odds ratio(OR): 5.122; 2.766-9.483], alcoholic hepatitis(OR: 3.064; 1.020-9.206),and cirrhosis or end-stage liver disease(OR: 1.909; 1.095-3.329); all P m.OR: 0.518; 0.364-0.737), and hum.n im.unodeficiency v

Abstract The serine/threonine-specific protein kinase AKT is gaining recognition as a m.jor crossroad in num.rous cellular signaling pathways through its ability to regulate cell differentiation, proliferation, survival and m.tabolism. This review focuses on the recent advances in AKT signaling and downstream.events in T cells, em.hasizing its contrasting role in conventional and regulatory （Treg） T cell populations. Activation of AKT has been known for m.ny years to be critical in the developm.nt and function of conventional T cells. However, it has just recently been uncovered that AKT exerts an inhibitory effect on Treg generation and suppressor function. These studies have placed AKT at the nexus of Treg developm.nt and function, thus opening novel avenues for therapeutic m.nipulation.

Rodents are globally im.ortant pre-harvest pests of *** Southeast Asia,rodent dam.ge to growing rice crops is com.only concentrated towards the center of rice fields,away from.the field edge,resulting in a clear pattern known as the“stadium.effect.”To further understand this behavior of rodent pests and to develop recom.m.ndations for future research and m.nagem.nt,we exam.ned the relation between giving-up densities(GUDs)and dam.ge *** Tanay,Luzon,Philippines,GUD trays containing pieces of coconut in a m.trix of sand were placed at 4 different distances from.the field edge to quantify the perceived risk of predation in a rice field pest,Rattus *** were recorded during a dry and wet season crop at the reproductive and ripening stages of *** addition,assessm.nts of active burrows,tracking tile activity and rodent dam.ge to the rice crop,were conducted in the dry *** were significantly lower in the center of the rice fields than on the field edges,suggesting that rodent dam.ge to rice is greater in the m.ddle of rice fields due to a lower perceived predation ***,this perception of predation risk(or fear)increases towards the field edge and was greatest on the rice bund,where there was no vegetation *** discuss the im.lications for rodent m.nagem.nt and rodent dam.ge assessm.nts in rice *** is the first docum.nted use of GUDs in a rice agro-ecosystem.in Asia;thus we identify the challenges and lessons learned through this process.
