This paper addresses the development of a random forest classifier for the muki-class fault diagnosis in spur gearboxes. The vibration signal＇s condition parameters are first extracted by applying the wavelet packet decomposition with multiple mother wavelets, and the coefficients＇ energy content for terminal nodes is used as the input feature for the classification problem. Then, a study through the parameters＇ space to find the best values for the number of trees and the number of random features is performed. In this way, the best set of mother wavelets for the application is identified and the best features are selected through the internal ranking of the random forest classifier. The results show that the proposed method reached 98.68% in classification accuracy, and high efficiency and robustness in the models.

This paper develops an innovative approach to optimize a long-term rehabilitation and upgrading schedule (RUS) for a water distribution system with considering both hydraulic failure and mechanical performance failure circumstances. The proposed approach assesses hydraulic reliability dynamically and then optimizes the long-term RUS in sequence for a water distribution system. The uncertain hydraulic parameters are treated as random numbers in a stochastic hydraulic reliability assessment. The methodologies used for optimization in a stochastic environment are: Monte Carlo Simulation, EPANET Simulation, Genetic Algorithms, Shamir and Howard’s Exponential Model, Threshold Break Rate Model and Two-Stage Optimization Model. The proposed approach is conducted on a simulation model of water distribution network in a computer by two universal codes, namely the hydraulic reliability code and the optimal RUS code. The applicability of this approach is verified in an example of a benchmark water distribution network.

Metabolic and Renal Protective Benefits of Magnesium Supplementation in the Long-Term Management of Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Scavengers play an important role in ecosystems. Their obvious service for public health is well known at least in developing countries:In terms of ecosystem services they remove rotten meat and bones and in doing so prevent serious diseases in people and livestock. Vulture decline and its negative effect on economy, public health and culture has well been studied in the case of India. One major effect was that rabies spread as carrion was no longer consumed by birds but by mammals. So there is good evidence on the importance of vultures as scavengers. However, vultures are mainly extinct in industrial countries like Germany or China after prosecution and lack of food. Extinction of vultures occurred at least 200 years ago. Rabies was a major risk to public health in Germany until the disease was eradicated by vaccinating foxes. Without competition by vultures and without rabies causing death among foxes, their population increased tremendously and foxes are now regarded as a threat for ground breeding birds. Whereas Germany interferes in the carrion food web again by vaccinating foxes and causing more negative effect, India sees to eradicate the reasons for vulture decline such as banning the use of Diclophenac in animal *** the NECROS project of BTU Cottbus （Germany） the fragmented remaining food web based on carcasses is studied. Road kills of game, mainly roe deer and wild boar, are deposited in a nature reserve to carry out field experiments. Carcasses are monitored by automatic cameras. One of the main research aims is to find out what happens to the carrion food web with only some vertebrate scavengers around and no vultures at all. Results show that compared to complete ecosystems with large predators and vultures, the rudimentary food web based on carrion in Germany cannot provide the desirable ecosystem services.

Magnesium deficiency is common in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (type 2 DM). When adequate magnesium supplementation is chronically given, patients with type 2 DM appear to have improved glucose control and may have delayed chronic complications. In addition, magnesium supplementation may slow the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and decrease the risk of contrast-induced nephropathy in patients with type 2 DM. Keeping serum magnesium at 2.0 mEq/L or greater appears to accomplish these benefits for patients with type 2 DM. Periodically measuring serum magnesium and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) allows a physician to adjust the supplemental magnesium dose to accomplish these therapeutic goals while avoiding hypermagnesemia.

Wastewaters from various process industries,namely food and agricultural,sugar mill,brewery,milk,vegetable and fruit,and meat and fsheries processing industries and their wastewater efuents contain nutrients,organic matter,inorganic,heavy metals,suspended solids,and *** discharges of non-treated wastewater enter the nearby aquatic ecosystem(e.g.,lakes,rivers)and are a signifcant concern due to the presence of diferent nutrients,competing ions and C containing *** causes excessive growth of algae,loss of habitat/species,and other negative impacts on human health/*** the present review,diferent treatment approaches have been discussed in utilizing these nutrients to synthesize value-added products such as biopolymer,biofuel,pigment,organic acid,or *** biopolymers can be used to prepare various food products/packaging ***,chitosan,carrageenan,alginate,and pectin are good examples of non-food *** these products,poly-β-hydroxybutyrate(PHB)synthesis from wastewater nutrients is reported as a new source of bio-nanocomposite materials/biopolymer-based *** this review,the diferent treatment approaches are discussed,which are being used worldwide for the removal/recovery of nutrients,toxic pollutants,and the potential resource recovery of value-added products from wastewater.

AIM： TO determine the possible modulating effect of the COX-2 polymorphisms, -765G→C and -1195A→G, on the risk of colorectal cancer （CRC） in a Dutch population. METHODS： This case-control study includes 326 patients with CRC and 369 age- and gender-matched controls. Genotypes of the COX-2 polymorphisms -7dEG→C and -1195A→G were determined by polymerase chain reaction-based restriction fragment length polymorphism. COX-2 genotypes and haplotypes were analyzed and odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals were estimated by logistic regression. RESULTS： The -765GG genotype was associated with an increased risk of developing CRC （OR, 1.45; 95% CI, 1.03-2.04）. No significant difference was observed in the genotype distribution of the -1195A→G polymorphism between patients and controls. The GG/AC haplotype was present significantly less often in patients than in controls （OR 0.44; 95% CI, 0.22-0.85）. When the AC, AG and GG haplotypes were investigated separately, the AC haplotype showed a tendency to be less frequent in patients than in controls （OR（AG/AC） 0.78; 95% CI, 0.57-1.06）. CONCLUSION： The -765GG genotype is associated with an increased risk of developing CRC and the G6/ AC haplotype seems to protect against CRC. These findings suggest a modulating role for the COX-2 polymorphisms -765G→C and -1195A→G in the development of CRC in a Dutch population.

针对线性高斯系统的平滑问题,分析了RTS固定区间平滑与双滤波器固定区间平滑两种算法,提出了一种滤波存储数据更少的RTS平滑新算法。结合平面内的运动追踪问题,基于二维CWPA模型,仿真分析了卡尔曼滤波、RTS固定区间平滑以及双滤波器平滑算法的估计性能。仿真结果表明,两种固定区间平滑算法的估计效果等效,精度均优于卡尔曼滤波,对于实际问题中固定区间平滑算法的选用具有一定的参考价值。最后,结合双滤波器结构提出了一种基于双平滑器的舰载武器惯导传递对准精度评估方法,结果表明新方法相比于单一的平滑算法,可以获取更优的综合平滑性能,特别提升了水平姿态对准误差的平滑估计性能。

Continuous vehicle tracking as well as detecting accidents, are significant services that are needed by many industries including insurance and vehicle rental companies. The main goal of this paper is to provide methods to detect the position of car accident. The models consider GPS/INS-based navigation algorithm, calibration of navigational sensors, a de-nosing method as long as vehicle accident, expressed by a set of raw measurements which are obtained from various environmental sensors. In addition, the location-based accident detection model is tested in different scenarios. The results illustrate that under harsh environments with no GPS signal, location of accident can be detected. Also results confirm that calibration of sensors has an important role in position correction algorithm. Finally, the results present that the proposed accident detection algorithm can recognize accidents and related its positions.

Objective To determine the diagnostic yield of repeated screening for atrial fibrillation(AF)among geriatric *** A pragmatic prospective cohort study into applying opportunistic screening for AF with a handheld single lead ECG device(SLD)in a geriatric *** patients of 65 years old and older visiting the geriatric outpatient clinic were eligible for inclusion.A 12 lead ECG was performed,followed by measurements with the SLD during every visit to the geriatric outpatient clinic.A frailty index was based on the accumulation of deficits *** 478 patients were *** were excluded if they did not give informed consent(17 patients),had a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter defibrillator(20 patients),or had incomplete medical files(two patients).After exclusion,439 patients participated in this *** mean age was 78 years(range 65 to 100 years),54%were *** was known in 89 patients(20%),first detected on the baseline ECG in four patients(1%)and first detected with the SLD in 20 patients(5%)during follow up *** of the SLD was 90.0%,specificity 99.0%,negative predictive value 99.7%,and positive predictive value 73.5%.Most patients(82%)with AF were frail and 53%were severely *** Repeated screening in geriatric patients has a five times higher diagnostic yield than usual *** was easily combined with usual *** of the positive predictive value of 73.5%,it remains necessary to confirm AF with a 12 lead ECG or 24-h Holter monitoring.
