Short-Time Derivatization Method for Analysis of Abamectin in Water Using High-Performance Liquid chromatography coupled to Fluorescence Detector

A method using a short-time derivatization step for the assessment of abamectin in water is presented. Abamectin derivative stable up to 7 days was obtained. Some regions where orange crops are present have received abamectin doses, aiming to increase the productivity and to combat pests and weeds, even when its residues reach the aquatic environment and interfere on water quality. Water samples from Jacaré-Pepira River (Brotas city, Brazil) nearby orange crops around urban zone, were evaluated for the presence of abamectin. The analytical method was validated resulting recovery around 108%, precision of 12%, accuracy of 104%, correlation coefficient of 0.9945, and detection and quantification limits of 0.1 μg·L﹣1 and 0.2 μg·L﹣1, respectively. Stable abamectin derivative was reached after 60 min of derivatization at room temperature (25°c). No abamectin residues were found into samples.

Quality of Life was assessed by the Minnesota Living With Heart Failure Questionnaire in 61 patients with chronic Systolic Heart Failure secondary to chagas cardiomyopathy. Mean total score was 37.3± 21.4, mean physical dimension score 15.3± 9.9 and mean emotional dimension score 7.4± 5.2. A negative correlation between total score and hemoglobin levels, Systolic and Diastolic Blood Pressure and the 6-Minute Walk Test were observed. Total score was higher in patients in class IV, on amiodarone, furosemide and carvedilol, and in non-sinus rhythm patients. Quality of Life Assessment in chagasic patients is similar to that found in patients with nonchagasic heart failure.

Introduction: The perioperative nurse plays an important role throughout the surgical period, especially in the context of predicting the risks to which patients are exposed when entering a surgical center. These can be skin, muscle, tendon, and even burn injuries from the scalpel or chemicals. Objective: The aim of this study was to verify the degree of risk for the development of injuries resulting from surgical positioning in patients of a university hospital. Methods: This is cross-sectional, exploratory research with a quantitative approach conducted with 70 surgical patients in a Municipal University Hospital with data collection through a socioeconomic and health questionnaire and the Risk Assessment Scale for Development of Surgical Positioning Injuries (SISP). Statistical analyses included simple descriptive evaluation, correlations of variables using the chi-square test and Pearson’s coefficient with a significance level of 5%. Results: The results found pointed to a population mainly composed of women (60%), married, with an average age of 49 years, with hypertension and high-risk scores to develop injuries due to surgical positioning. There was also a positive and significant correlation between having hypertension and having a higher risk of developing lesions, with R2 = 96.4% and p conclusion: The results reinforce the need to implement protocols and the acquisition of materials aimed at reducing the risk of injuries related to surgical positioning in order to improve the quality of care offered and thus minimize the harm to users.

The tangerine pathotype of Alternaria alternata is the aetiological agent of Alternaria brown spot on tangerines. In the state of Paraíba, Brazil, its occurrence on “Dancy” tangerine trees is associated with genetic aspects as well as the influence of environmental conditions on reproduction and dissemination within and between populations. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the diversity of isolates of this pathogen using morphophysiological and molecular markers. For the analysis of mycelial growth and sporulation, 30 isolates from different locations were examined at 24-hour intervals until the seventh day, when the spores were quantified. The 30 isolates were characterised based on molecular markers (ISSR) and genetic similarity (Jaccard index). A factor arrangement was used: 30 isolates, four media (ODA, PDA, LEA and V8), three light regimes (continuous dark, alternating light and continuous light) and three temperatures (15°c, 25°c and 35°c), with 12 repetitions. Groups 1, 2 and 3 presented low genetic variability. Group 4 showed high genetic variability of the isolates obtained from the Massaranduba (state of Paraíba-Brazil) producing region and higher mycelial growth and sporulation of A. alternata. The continuous light regime and the temperature 25°c in PDA and V8 media were the ideal conditions for the mycelial growth and sporulation, respectively, of the isolates of A. alternata.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide and epidemiological projections predict growing cancer mortality rates in the next *** has a close relationship with the immune system and,although Th17 cells are known to play roles in the immune response against microorganisms and in autoimmunity,studies have emphasized their roles in cancer *** Th17 immune response profile is involved in several types of cancer including urogenital,respiratory,gastrointestinal,and skin *** type of immune response exerts pro and antitumor functions through several mechanisms,depending on the context of each tumor,including the protumor angiogenesis and exhaustion of T cells and the antitumor recruitment of T cells and neutrophils to the tumor *** other factors,the paradoxical behavior of Th17 cells in this setting has been attributed to its plasticity potential,which makes possible their conversion into other types of T cells such as Th17/Treg and Th17/Th1 ***(IL)-17 stands out among Th17-related cytokines since it modulates pathways and interacts with other cell profiles in the tumor microenvironment,which allow Th17 cells to prevail in ***,the IL-17 is able to mediate pro and antitumor processes that influence the development and progression of various cancers,being associated with variable clinical *** understanding of the relationship between the Th17 immune response and cancer as well as the singularities of carcinogenic processes in each type of tumor is crucial for the identification of new therapeutic targets.

BAcKGROUNDG roup B Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS) is the main etiologic agent associated withearly-onset neonatal sepsis, and of all newborns of parturients colonized by GBS,approximately 1%-2% develop invasive, early-onset disease. The risk of infectionincreases to 15.2% in premature neonates, to 10.7% when the parturient haschorioamnionitis or premature rupture of membranes for more than 24 h and to9.7% if the mother has postpartum bacteremia. In addition to causing perinatal,neonatal and postnatal deaths, neonatal hospital infection is associated with highcosts, as hospitalization is three times longer than in uninfected children.
