Cells,tissues,and organs are constantly subjected to the action of mechanical forces from the extracellular environment-and the nervous system is no ***-intrinsic properties such as membrane lipid composition,abundance of mechanosensors,and cytoskeletal dynamics make cells more or less likely to sense these *** and extrinsic cues are integrated by cells and this combined information determines the rate and dynamics of membrane protrusion growth or retraction(Yamada and Sixt,2019).Cell protrusions are extensions of the plasma membrane that play crucial roles in diverse contexts such as cell migration and neuronal synapse *** the nervous system,neurons are highly dynamic cells that can change the size and number of their pre-and postsynaptic elements(called synaptic boutons and dendritic spines,respectively),in response to changes in the levels of synaptic activity through a process called *** plasticity is a hallmark of the nervous system and is present throughout our lives,being required for functions like memory formation or the learning of new motor skills(Minegishi et al.,2023;Pillai and Franze,2024).

The studies concerning the wake transition regime of the flow around a circular cylinder have drawn much attention in these years. Many experiments have been conducted for this problem but no accurate three-dimensional numerical simulations have hitherto been made. In this paper, a parallel procedure was developed to solve the three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations on an SGI Origin3900 machine. Two different parallel strategies on this application were analyzed about their efficiency. It is found that the critical Reynolds number is 195, and the wake flow below this Reynolds number is purely two-dimensional one, while the Reynolds number goes beyond this critical point, the wake flow becomes unstable under three-dimensional small disturbances. The transition regime involves two modes of small-scale three-dimensional instability (modes A and B), depending on the regime of Reynolds number (Re). It is also found that the two different modes A and B exhibit different physical features of the flow. And many other important questions were addressed in this paper.

A numerical study was conducted for the vortex-induced vibrations of anelastic circular cylinder at low Reynolds numbers. An Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) method wasemployed to deal with the fluid-structure interaction with an H-O type of non-staggered gridsincorporating the domain decomposition method (DDM), which could save the computational CPU time dueto re-meshing. The computational domain was divided into nine sub-domains including one ALEsub-domain and eight Eulerian sub-domains. The convection term and dissipation term in the N-Sequations were discretized using the third-order upwind compact scheme and the fourth-order centralcompact scheme, respectively. The motion of the cylinder was modeled by a spring-damper-mass systemand solved using the Runge-Kutta method. By simulating the non-linear fluid-structure interaction,the ''lock-in'', ''beating'' and ''phase switch'' phenomena were successfully captured, and the resultsagree with experimental data Furthermore, the vortex structure, the unsteady lift and drag on thecylinder, and the cylinder displacement at various natural frequency of the cylinder for Re = 200were discussed in detail, by which a jump transition of the wake structure was captured.

Ephedroid macrofossils have been widely documented in Cretaceous deposits,including numerous from the Lower Cretaceous Yixian Formation of NE ***,few ephedroid macrofossils have been reported from South ***,we describe a new plant of the family Ephedraceae,Arlenea delicata *** ***.,from the Lower Cretaceous Crato Formation of the Araripe Basin,Northeast Brazil,based on the vegetative and reproductive *** has the typical morphological characteristics of ephedroid plants,including fertile reproductive branches,opposite phyllotaxy,terminal female cones,a sympodial branching system,longitudinally striated internodes,and swollen *** new finding is unusual in having inner chlamydosperms subtended by two pairs of bracts,reproductive units connected to branches through swollen receptacles and a smooth seed *** new ephedroid taxon from the Crato Formation increases our understanding of plant diversity of this group during the Early ***,the general morphology(fleshy bracts and enlarged receptacles)of this new fossil discovery indicates that seeds of this plant may have been dispersed by animals such as pterosaurs(mainly the Tapejaridae)and birds(Enantiornithes and Ornituromorpha).If true,this would explain the cosmopolitan distribution of Ephedraceae in the Lower Cretaceous.

In this paper, a study of the high-speed gas jet of a rocket nozzle underwater was carried out using commercially available CFD software FLUENT with it’s user-defined-function. The volume of fluid technique based on finite volume method was adopted to solve the time-dependent multiphase flow including a compressible phase, and the PISO algorithm was included. The computed results show that this problem was calculated successfully. The gas bubble behind the nozzle, and the wave structure existing in highly compressed gas in water were captured accurately.

In recent years,coconut oil has emerged as a potential‘miracle’*** media vehicles and health specialists assure that this fat is capable of promoting health benefits,such as weight reduction,cholesterol lowering,prevention of cardiovascular diseases,and anti-inflammatory effect,among *** claims are used to market the product and boost its sales by coconut oil ***,governmental regulatory agencies in many countries are still sceptical about the benefits obtained by the consumption of coconut oil due to its high-saturated fatty acid *** light of such controversy,this review focused on analysing the published literature on the alleged health claims,in order to investigate if there is enough scientific evidence to support *** was verified that the metabolism of lauric acid,the major fatty acid in coconut oil,remains *** studies reported that the product was not efficient in weight ***,it has been reported that the consumption of coconut oil increased low-density lipoprotein cholesterol,consequently increasing the risk of cardiovascular *** general,the studies present conflicting results and there is a lack of long-term human-based clinical ***,as a saturated fat,coconut oil should be consumed with moderation and the health allegations should not be used to market the product,once they are not scientifically proven so far.

Clear Cell Sarcoma (CCS) is a rare soft tissue sarcoma that corresponds to a less than 1% of all sarcomas and is a high degree neoplasm with propensity to disseminate to regional lymph nodes. Regional lymphadenectomies have a controversial impact on sarcomas treatment and survival, even though those patients have higher local recurrence and lower survival. So, sentinel lymph node biopsy must be one option for better regional staging to STS with higher propensity to lymph node commitment. The authors demonstrate two cases of CCS submitted to surgery through compartmental resection associated with the sentinel lymph node biopsy. A literature review about soft tissue sarcoma and lymph node sentinel biopsy is shown as an initial experience of two cases.
