BACKGROUND Radiotherapy stands as a promising therapeutic modality for colorectal cancer(CRC);yet,the formidable challenge posed by radio-resistance significantly undermines its efficacy in achieving CRC *** To elucidate the role played by microRNA-298(miR-298)in CRC *** To establish a radio-resistant CRC cell line,HT-29 cells underwent exposure to 5 gray ionizing radiation that was followed by a 7-d recovery *** quantification of miR-298 levels within CRC cells was conducted through quantitative RT-PCR,and protein expression determination was realized through Western *** viability was assessed by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide assay and proliferation by clonogenic ***-induced apoptosis was discerned through flow cytometry *** We observed a marked upregulation of miR-298 in radio-resistant CRC ***-298 emerged as a key determinant of cell survival following radiation exposure,as its overexpression led to a notable reduction in radiation-induced ***,miR-298 expression exhibited a strong correlation with CRC cell *** investigation unveiled human dual-specificity tyrosine(Y)-regulated kinase 1A(DYRK1A)as miR-298’s direct *** Taken together,our findings underline the role played by miR-298 in bolstering radio-resistance in CRC cells by means of DYRK1A downregulation,thereby positioning miR-298 as a promising candidate for mitigating radioresistance in CRC.

Production of high-energy neutron beam from deuteron breakup

The deuteron breakup on heavy targets has been investigated in the framework of an improved quantum molecular dynamics model,focusing on the production of neutrons near zero *** experimental differential cross sections of neutron production in the 102 MeV d+C reactions were reproduced by *** on the consistency between the model prediction and experiment,the feasibility of producing a neutron beam through the breakup of deuteron on a carbon target was *** of the nucleon Fermi motion inside the deuteron,the energy spectrum of the inclusive neutron near 0°in the laboratory exhibits considerable energy broadening in the main peak,whereas the long tail on the low-energy side is *** coincidentally measuring the accompanying deuteron breakup proton,the energy of the neutron can be tagged with an intrinsic uncertainty of approximately 5%(1σ).The tagging efficiency of the accompanying proton on the forward-emitted neutron can reach 90%,which ensures that the differential cross section in the(d,np)channel remains two orders higher than that in(p,n)after considering the measurement of accompanying *** enables the application of a well-defined energy neutron beam in an event-by-event scheme.

Comparison of neutron energy spectrum unfolding methods and evaluation of rationality criteria

The neutron energy spectrum was measured using a Bonner sphere spectrometer at six locations inside the containment vessel of a nuclear reactor at the Qinshan nuclear power plant. The structures of the neutron spectra obtained by the maximum entropy, iteration, and genetic algorithm methods were consistent with one another and could be interpreted as the spectral superposition of different energy regions. The characteristic parameters of the neutron spectrum, including the fluence rate,average energy, and neutron ambient dose equivalent rate H^(*)(10), were in good agreement among the three methods. In addition, an LB6411 neutron ambient dose equivalent meter was employed to obtain the H^(*)(10) directly for *** findings indicate that neutron spectrum unfolding methods can be used to overcome the problems associated with the response functions of dosimeters to provide more accurate H^(*)(10) values. In this study, the following three evaluation criteria were systematically addressed to ensure the accuracy of the unfolded spectra: count rates of the inverse solutions,neutron spectrum structures, and comparison of key parameters.

The photoelectric device of a scintillation dosimeter converts photons produced by radiation into an electrical *** features directly determine the overall performance of the *** a plastic scintillation fiber dosimeter(PSFD)with a current readout mode,systematic studies of the stability and light-dose response were performed for the photomultiplier tube(PMT),silicon photomultiplier(SiPM),avalanche photodiode(APD),and photodiode(PD).The temperature stability,long-term stability,repeatability,signal-to-noise ratio(SNR),and current dose response of the PSFD with the abovementioned photoelectric devices were studied using a pulsed LED light source and the Small Animal Radiation Therapy *** exponential relationship between the dark/ne current and temperature was obtained for all the devices.I is shown that the APD is the most sensitive device to temperature,with a current dependence on temperature reaching 6.5%C^(-1)at room temperature,whereas for the other devices this dependence is alwaysrent of PD can change by up to 4%when working continuously for 8 h and 2%when working intermittently for 32 h,whereas for the other devices,the changes are allrent readout mode,the performance of the PMT and SiPM is concluded to be better than that of the other devices in the *** particular,the SiPM,which has a compact size,low bias voltage,and antimagnetic interference,has great advantages for further applications.

Structure Regulation of Electric Double Layer via Hydrogen Bonding Effect to Realize High-Stability Lithium-Metal Batteries

The interfacial chemistry of solid electrolyte interphases(SEI)on lithium(Li)electrode is directly determined by the structural chemistry of the electric double layer(EDL)at the ***,a strategy for regulating the structural chemistry of EDL via the introduction of intermolecular hydrogen bonds has been proposed(p-hydroxybenzoic acid(pHA)is selected as proof-of-concept).According to the molecular dynamics(MD)simulation and density functional theory(DFT)calculation results,the existence of hydrogen bonds realizes the anion structural rearrangement in the EDL,reduces the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO)energy level of anions in the EDL,and the number of free solvent molecules,which promotes the formation of inorganic species-enriched SEI and eventually achieves the dendrite-free Li *** on this strategy,Li‖Cu cells can stably run over 185 cycles with an accumulated active Li loss of only 2.27 mAh cm^(-2),and the long-term cycle stability of Li‖Li cells is increased to 1200 *** addition,the full cell pairing with the commercial LiFePO_(4)(LFP)cathodes exhibits stable cycling performance at 1C,with a capacity retention close to 90%after 200 cycles.

The convenient synthesis of the composite electrode with high supercapacitance performance plays an important role in practical application but is ***,the carbon nanotubes(CNTs)coupled with lowcrystalline sulfur and nitrogen co-doped Ni Co-LDH(denoted as SN-Ni Co-LDH)nanosheets array are grown on Ni Co foam(NCF)substrate by two convenient steps of metal induced self-assembly and corrosion engineering,which present the advantages of operating at roomtemperature and low preparation *** from the S–N co-doping and low-crystallinity of Ni Co-LDH,the prepared SN-Ni Co-LDH@CNTs@NCF electrode presents a topping charge capacity of 2470 C·g^(-1)(4.94 C·cm^(-2))at 5 m A·cm^(-2).Furthermore,the fabricated asymmetry supercapacitor(ASC)achieves an extraordinary energy density of 77 Wh·kg^(-1)(0.617 m Wh·cm^(-2))at a power density of 438 W·kg^(-1)(3.5 m W·cm^(-2))and outstanding stability(91%capacity retention after 5000 cycles at20 m A·cm^(-2)).Impressively,the structure evolution of Ni Co-LDH during the charge/discharge processes has been thoroughly elucidated by in-situ Raman ***,this work verifies a powerful strategy and practical value for preparing composite electrodes with high supercapacitance performance,and also provides guidance for the rational design of the smart electrodes.

Federated Offline Reinforcement Learning with Proximal Policy Evaluation

Offline reinforcement learning (RL) has gathered increasing attention in recent years, which seeks to learn policies from static datasets without active online exploration. However, the existing offline RL approaches often require a large amount of pre-collected data and hence are hardly implemented by a single agent in practice. Inspired by the advancement of federated learning (FL), this paper studies federated offline reinforcement learning(FORL), whereby multiple agents collaboratively carry out offline policy learning with no need to share their raw trajectories. Clearly, a straightforward solution is to simply retrofit the off-the-shelf offline RL methods for FL, whereas such an approach easily overfits individual datasets during local updating, leading to instability and subpar performance. To overcome this challenge, we propose a new FORL algorithm, named model-free (MF)-FORL, thatexploits novel “proximal local policy evaluation” to judiciously push up action values beyond local data support, enabling agents to capture the individual information without forgetting the aggregated knowledge. Further, we introduce a model-based variant, MB-FORL, capable of improving the generalization ability and computational efficiency via utilizing a learned dynamics model. We evaluate the proposed algorithms on a suite of complex and high-dimensional offline RL benchmarks, and the results demonstrate significant performance gains over the baselines.

Changes in global land surface frozen ground and freeze-thaw processes during 1950-2020 based on ERA5-Land data

Frozen ground(FG)plays an important role in global and regional climates and environments through changes in land freeze-thaw processes,which have been conducted mainly in different ***,the changes in land surface freeze-thaw processes under climate change on a global scale are still *** on ERA5-Land hourly land skin temperature data,this study evaluated changes in the global FG area,global land surface first freeze date(FFD),last freeze date(LFD)and frost-free period(FFP)from 1950 to *** results show that the current FG areas(1991-2020 mean)in the Northern Hemisphere(NH),Southern Hemisphere(SH),and globe are 68.50×10^(6),9.03×10^(6),and 77.53×10^(6)km^(2),which account for 72.4%,26.8%,and 60.4%of the exposed land(excluding glaciers,ice sheets,and water bodies)in the NH,SH and the globe,respectively;further,relative to 1951-1980,the FG area decreased by 1.9%,8.8%,and 2.8%,*** FG at lower latitudes degrades to intermittently FG,and intermittently FG degrades to non-frozen ground,which caused the global FG boundary to retreat to higher latitudes from 1950 to *** annual FG areas in the NH,SH,and globe all show significant decreasing trends(prend of FFP in the NH(1.34 d per decade)is larger than that in the SH(1.15 d per decade).
