Inter-well internal resonance analysis of rectangular asymmetric cross-ply bistable composite laminated cantilever shell under transverse foundation excitation

The chaotic dynamic snap-through and complex nonlinear vibrations are investigated in a rectangular asymmetric cross-ply bistable composite laminated cantilever shell, in cases of 1 : 2 inter-well internal resonance and primary resonance. The transverse foundation excitation is applied to the fixed end of the structure, and the other end is in a free state. The first-order approximate multiple scales method is employed to perform the perturbation analysis on the dimensionless two-degree-of-freedom ordinary differential motion control equation. The four-dimensional averaged equations are derived in both polar and rectangular coordinate forms. Deriving from the obtained frequency-amplitude and force-amplitude response curves, a detailed analysis is conducted to examine the impacts of excitation amplitude, damping coefficient, and tuning parameter on the nonlinear internal resonance characteristics of the system. The nonlinear softening characteristic is exhibited in the upper stable-state, while the lower stable-state demonstrates the softening and linearity characteristics. Numerical simulation is carried out using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method, and a series of nonlinear response curves are plotted. Increasing the excitation amplitude further elucidates the global bifurcation and chaotic dynamic snap-through characteristics of the bistable cantilever shell.

Performance Prediction Based Workload Scheduling in Co-Located Cluster

Cloud service providers generally co-locate online services and batch jobs onto the same computer cluster,where the resources can be pooled in order to maximize data center resource *** to resource competition between batch jobs and online services,co-location frequently impairs the performance of online *** study presents a quality of service(QoS)prediction-based schedulingmodel(QPSM)for *** performance prediction of QPSM consists of two parts:the prediction of an online service’s QoS anomaly based on XGBoost and the prediction of the completion time of an offline batch job based on ***-line service QoS anomaly prediction is used to evaluate the influence of batch jobmix on on-line service performance,and batch job completion time prediction is utilized to reduce the total waiting time of batch *** the same number of batch jobs are scheduled in experiments using typical test sets such as CloudSuite,the scheduling time required by QPSM is reduced by about 6 h on average compared with the first-come,first-served strategy and by about 11 h compared with the random scheduling *** with the non-co-located situation,QPSM can improve CPU resource utilization by 12.15% and memory resource utilization by 5.7% on *** show that the QPSM scheduling strategy proposed in this study can effectively guarantee the quality of online services and further improve cluster resource utilization.

Effect of octreotide on human pancreatic cancer cells after transfected with somatostatin receptor type 2 gene

AIM: To observe the effect of octreotide on apoptosis rate of human pancreatic cancer cells PC-3 after transfected with somatostatin receptor type 2 (SST2) ***: SST2 plasmid was transfected into PC-3 cells by liposome. Result of transfection was detected by immunocytochemical staining and Western *** rates of PC-3 cells under different dosages of octreotide were measured by MTT assay and flow cytometry (FCM).RESULTS: Apoptosis rate caused by octreotide of transfected PC-3 cells was 7.56+2.06% at the dosage of 0.20 μg/mL, 9.25+1.73% at the dosage of 0.40 μg/mL and 14.28±2.72% at the dosage of 0.80 μg/mL. Apoptosis rate caused by octreotide of non-transfected PC-3 cells was 5.76+0.75% at the dosage of 0.20 μg/mL, 6.69±0.80% at the dosage of 0.d0 μg/mL and 7.26±1.28% at the dosage of 0.80 μg/mL. Transfected PC-3 cells growth inhibition rate caused by octreotide was 9.36+1.34% at the dosage of 0.20 μg/mL, 12.03+1.44% at the dosage of 0.40 μg/mL and 20.23+4.21% at the dosage of 0.80 μg/mL. Non-transfected PC-3 cells growth inhibition rate caused by octreotide was 6.44+0.66% at the dosage of 0.20 μg/mL,7.65+0.88% at the dosage of 0.40 μg/mL and 9.29+1.32% at the dosage of 0.80 μg/mL. We found that octreotidecaused higher apoptosis rate and inhibition rate in transfected groups than in non-transfected groups (Prengthen the ability of octreotide of killing PC-3 cells. It provided an experimental evidence for using both octreotide and transfection with SST2 gene on clinical treatment of pancreatic cancer.

An effective bimetallic oxide catalyst of RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) for alkaline overall water splitting

The rational design of effective bifunctional electrocatalysts is of paramount importance for overall water-splitting technology in sustainable energy ***,bimetallic oxide catalysts(RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4))derived from Ru combined MOF-derivatives(MOF=metal-organic framework)were demonstrated effective for overall water splitting in an alkaline solution,owing to the combined merits such as the two-dimensional interconnected network structure,the synergetic coupling effects and increased chemical *** as-prepared RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) only requires an overpotential of 260 mV for oxygen evolution and 75 mV for hydrogen evolution at 10 mA/cm^(2) in 1 M KOH solution;a low cell voltage of 1.54 V was required to reach the kinetic current density of 10 mA/cm^(2) for the water electrolysis when supporting on glass carbon electrode,and very good stability for 40 h was *** and theoretical results demonstrated the electronic structure optimization of bimetallic RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) compared to the individual metal oxide,which promoted interface charges redistribution and the d-band center downshift,resulting in increased activity and stability for water-splitting *** work provides a feasible approach for developing bimetallic oxides for application in energy-relevant electrocatalysis reactions.

MEMS Huygens Clock Based on Synchronized Micromechanical Resonators

With the continuous miniaturization of electronic devices,microelectromechanical system(MEMS)oscillators that can be combined with integrated circuits have attracted increasing *** study reports a MEMS Huygens clock based on the synchronization principle,comprising two synchronized MEMS oscillators and a frequency compensation *** MEMS Huygens clock improved shorttime stability,improving the Allan deviation by a factor of 3.73 from 19.3 to 5.17 ppb at 1 s.A frequency compensation system based on the MEMS oscillator’s temperature-frequency characteristics was developed to compensate for the frequency shift of the MEMS Huygens clock by controlling the resonator *** effectively improved the long-term stability of the oscillator,with the Allan deviation improving by 1.6343105 times to 30.9 ppt at 6000 *** power consumption for compensating both oscillators simultaneously is only 2.85 mW·℃^(-1).Our comprehensive solution scheme provides a novel and precise engineering solution for achieving high-precision MEMS oscillators and extends synchronization applications in MEMS.

Spontaneous Infection and Periodic Evolving of Domain in a Diffusive SIS Epidemic Model

In this paper, we consider a susceptible-infective-susceptible(SIS) reaction-diffusion epidemic model with spontaneous infection and logistic source in a periodically evolving domain. Using the iterative technique,the uniform boundedness of solution is established. In addition, the spatial-temporal risk index R0(ρ) depending on the domain evolution rate ρ(t) as well as its analytical properties are discussed. The monotonicity of R0(ρ)with respect to the diffusion coefficients of the infected dI, the spontaneous infection rate η(ρ(t)y) and interval length L is investigated under appropriate conditions. Further, the existence and asymptotic behavior of periodic endemic equilibria are explored by upper and lower solution method. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to illustrate our analytical results. Our results provide valuable information for disease control and prevention.

Developing bimetallic catalysts is an effective strategy for enhancing the activity and selectivity of electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reactions,where understanding the structure-activity relationship is essential for catalyst ***,we prepared two Cu-Ag bimetallic catalysts with Ag nanoparticles attached to the top or the bottom of Cu *** tested in a flow cell,the Cu-Ag catalyst with Ag nanoparticles on the bottom achieved a faradaic efficiency of 54%for ethylene production,much higher than the catalyst with Ag nanoparticles on the *** catalysts were further studied in the H-cell and zero-gap MEA *** was found that placing the two metals in the intensified reaction zone is crucial to triggering the tandem reaction of bimetallic *** work elucidates the structure-activity relationship of bimetallic catalysts for CO_(2) reduction and demonstrates the importance of considering both catalyst structures and cell characteristics to achieve high activity and selectivity.

Maximizing conditional independence for unsupervised domain adaptation

Unsupervised domain adaptation(UDA) studies how to transfer a learner from a labeled source domain to an unlabeled target domain with different distributions. Existing methods mainly focus on matching marginal distributions of the source and target domains, which probably leads to a misalignment of samples from the same class but different domains. In this paper, we tackle this misalignment issue by achieving the class-conditioned transferring from a new perspective. Specifically, we propose a method named maximizing conditional independence(MCI) for UDA, which maximizes the conditional independence of feature and domain given class in the reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. The optimization of conditional independence can be viewed as a surrogate for minimizing class-wise mutual information between feature and domain. An interpretable empirical estimation of the conditional dependence measure is deduced and connected with the unconditional case. Besides, we provide an upper bound on the target error by taking the class-conditional distribution into account, which provides a new theoretical insight for class-conditioned transferring. Extensive experiments on six benchmark datasets and various ablation studies validate the effectiveness of the proposed model in dealing with UDA.

Continuous variable quantum teleportation and remote state preparation between two space-separated local networks

Implementing quantum communication between space-separated local networks is essential for designing global quantum networks. In this study, we propose quantum teleportation and remote state preparation schemes between users of two space-separated local networks established by continuous-variable multipartite entangled states. In the proposed schemes, the quantum nodes belonging to the two distant local networks are first entangled by entanglement swapping, and then quantum communication protocols are realized. We show that quantum teleportation between any two users belonging to space-separated local networks can be realized with the assistance of other users, and squeezed thermal states can be remotely prepared in one local network by performing a homodyne projective measurement on the state in another distant local network. Our results provide a feasible approach for quantum communication between spaceseparated quantum networks with multipartite entangled states.
