Owing to their exceptional properties, high-entropy alloys(HEAs) and high-entropy materials have emerged as promising research areas and shown diverse applications. Here,the recent advances in the field are comprehensively reviewed,organized into five sections. The first section introduces the background of HEAs, covering their definition, significance,application prospects, basic properties, design principles, and microstructure. The subsequent section focuses on cutting-edge high-entropy structural materials, highlighting developments such as nanostructured alloys, grain boundary engineering,eutectic systems, cryogenic alloys, thin films, micro-nano-lattice structures, additive manufacturing, high entropy metallic glasses, nano-precipitate strengthened alloys, composition modulation, alloy fibers, and refractory systems. In the following section, the emphasis shifts to functional materials, exploring HEAs as catalysts, magneto-caloric materials, corrosion-resistant alloys, radiation-resistant alloys, hydrogen storage systems, and materials for biomedicine. Additionally, the review encompasses functional high-entropy materials outside the realm of alloys, including thermoelectric, quantum dots, nanooxide catalysts, energy storage materials, negative thermal expansion ceramics,and high-entropy wave absorption materials. The paper concludes with an outlook, discussing future directions and potential growth areas in the field. Through this comprehensive review,researchers, engineers, and scientists may gain valuable insights into the recent progress and opportunities for further exploration in the exciting domains of high-entropy alloys and functional materials.

The proton-proton(pp)fusion chain dominates the neutrino production in the *** uncertainty of the predicted pp neutrino flux is at the sub-percent level,whereas that of the best measurement is O(10%).In this study,for the first time,we measure solar pp neutrinos in the electron recoil energy range from 24 to 144 keV using the PandaX-4T commissioning data with 0.63 tonne×year *** pp neutrino flux is determined as(8.0±3.9(stat)±10.0(syst))×1010 s^(-1)cm^(-2),which is consistent with the Standard Solar Model and existing measurements,corresponding to an upper flux limit of 23.3×10^(10)s^(-1)cm^(-2)at 90%C.L..

AIM: To investigate catalase (KatA) and alkyl hydroperoxide reductase (AhpC) antibodies of Helicobacter pylori as biomarkers for gastric cancer (GC). METHODS: This study included 232 cases and 264 controls. Recombinant KatA and AhpC proteins were constructed and the levels of antibodies were tested by indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Logistic regression was applied to analyze the relationships between KatA, AhpC and GC. The chi(2) trend test was used to evaluate the dose-response relationships between serum KatA and AhpC antibody levels and GC. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the screening accuracy of KatA and AhpC as biomarkers. Combined analysis was used to observe screening accuracy of predictors for GC. RESULTS: In all subjects, the association between KatA and AhpC and GC risk was significant (P rend < 0.001). The area under the ROC (AUC) for KatA was 0.806, providing a sensitivity of 66.81% and specificity of 86.36%; and the AUC for AhpC was 0.615, with a sensitivity of 75.65% and specificity of 45.49%. The AUC was 0.906 for KatA and flagella protein A (FlaA) combined analysis. CONCLUSION: Serum KatA and AhpC antibodies are associated with GC risk and KatA may serve as a biomarker for GC. KatA/FlaA combined analysis improved screening accuracy.

Objective This study was to examine the relationship between socioeconomic status and the incidence and mortality of non-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL).Methods We compared the age-standardized incidence rate(ASIR),age-standardized mortality rate(ASMR),and the ASMR to ASIR ratio(MIR)at national and regional levels and studied the correlation between the MIR and the human development index(HDI)in 2012 and *** The highest ASIR was in North America in 2012 and in Australia in 2018,and the lowest ASIR was in Central and South Asia in both 2012 and *** highest ASMR was in North Africa in both 2012 and 2018,and the lowest ASMR was in Eastern Asia and South-Central Asia in 2012 and in South-Central Asia in *** lowest MIR was in Australia in both 2012 and 2018,and the highest MIR was in Western Africa in both 2012 and *** was strongly negatively correlated with MIR(r:−0.8810,P<0.0001,2012;r:−0.8895,P<0.0001,2018).Compared to the 2012 data,the MIR in the intermediate HDI countries significantly deceased and the HDI in low and high HDI countries significantly increased in *** The MIR is negatively correlated with *** the HDI in low and intermediate HDI countries may reduce the MIR and increase the survival of patients with NHL.

This study aimed to explore the mechanism of a novel mutation （***38Glu） in apolipoprotein H （APOH） gene causing hereditary beta2-glycoprotein I （β2GPI） deficiency and thrombosis in a proband with thrombophilia. The plasma level of β2GPI was measured by ELISA and Western blotting, and anti-β2GPI antibody by ELISA. Lupus anticoagulant （LA） was assayed using the dilute Russell viper venom time. Deficiency of the major natural anticoagulants including protein C （PC）, protein S （PS）, antithrombin （AT） and thrombomodulin （TM） was excluded from the proband. A mutation analysis was performed by amplification and sequencing of the APOH gene. Wild type and mutant （c.112A〉G） APOH expression plasmids were constructed and transfected into HEK293T cells. The results showed that the thrornbin generation capacity of the proband was higher than that of the other family members. Missense mutation ***38Glu in APOH gene and LA coexisted in the proband. The mutation led to β2GPI deficiency and thrombosis by impairing the protein production and inhibiting the platelet aggregation. It was concluded that the recurrent thrombosis of the proband is associated with the coexistence ***38Glu mutation in APOH gene and LA in plasma.

Serological tests play an essential role in monitoring and combating the COVID-19 *** spike protein(S protein),especially the S1 protein,is one of the major reagents used for serological ***,the high cost of S protein production and possible cross-reactivity with other human coronaviruses pose unavoidable *** taking advantage of a peptide microarray with full spike protein coverage,we analyzed 2,434 sera from 858 COVID-19 patients,63 asymptomatic patients and 610 controls collected from multiple clinical *** on the results,we identified several S protein-derived 12-mer peptides that have high diagnostic *** particular,for monitoring the IgG response,one peptide(aa 1148-1159 or S2-78)exhibited a sensitivity(95.5%,95%CI 93.7-96.9%)and specificity(96.7%,95%CI 94.8-98.0%)comparable to those of the S1 protein for the detection of both symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19 ***,the diagnostic performance of the S2-78(aa 1148-1159)IgG was successfully validated by ELISA in an independent sample cohort.A panel of four peptides,S1-93(aa 553-564),S1-97(aa 577-588),S1-101(aa 601-612)and S1-105(aa 625-636),that likely will avoid potential cross-reactivity with sera from patients infected by other coronaviruses was *** peptides identified in this study may be applied independently or in combination with the S1 protein for accurate,affordable,and accessible COVID-19 diagnosis.
