Friction and Wear Behavior of AlTiN-Coated Carbide Balls Against SKD11 Hardened Steel at Elevated Temperatures

In this study, AlTiN coatings were deposited on YT14 cemented carbide balls by arc ion plating technique. The friction and wear behavior of the AlTiN-coated balls against SKD11 hardened steel was investigated by sliding tests using a ball-ondisk tribometer at various temperatures from 25 to 700 ℃ in air. The results showed that the friction and wear behavior was significantly influenced by the testing temperature. Obvious fluctuations were observed in the friction curves at elevated temperatures, which could be attributed to the formation and rupture of unstable Fe and Cr oxide layers. As the temperature increased from 25 to 500 ~C, the wear rate of the coated balls increased from the scale of 10-21-10-20 m3/ N m, and then decreased to 10-22 m3/N m as the temperature further increased to 700℃. It was also found that the friction and wear behavior of the coated balls was directly dependent on the counterpart materials. As the temperature increased, the main wear mechanism of the coated balls changed from mild abrasive wear and adhesive wear to abrasive wear failure at 500℃, and then transferred to adhesive wear and mild oxidation wear at 700℃. For SKD11 hardened steel, the primary wear mechanism changed from delamination wear to abrasive wear and then transferred to plastic deformation and fatigue wear, accompanied by adhesive wear and tribo-oxidation wear.

Plasmonic nanoantennas provide unique opportunities for precise control of light–matter coupling in surface-enhanced infrared absorption(SEIRA)spectroscopy,but most of the resonant systems realized so far suffer from the obstacles of low sensitivity,narrow bandwidth,and asymmetric Fano resonance ***,we demonstrated an overcoupled resonator with a high plasmon-molecule coupling coefficient(μ)(OC-Hμresonator)by precisely controlling the radiation loss channel,the resonator-oscillator coupling channel,and the frequency detuning *** observed a strong dependence of the sensing performance on the coupling state,and demonstrated that OC-Hμresonator has excellent sensing properties of ultra-sensitive(7.25%nm^(−1)),ultra-broadband(3–10μm),and immune asymmetric Fano *** characteristics represent a breakthrough in SEIRA technology and lay the foundation for specific recognition of biomolecules,trace detection,and protein secondary structure analysis using a single array(array size is 100×100μm^(2)).In addition,with the assistance of machine learning,mixture classification,concentration prediction and spectral reconstruction were achieved with the highest accuracy of 100%.Finally,we demonstrated the potential of OC-Hμresonator for SARS-CoV-2 *** findings will promote the wider application of SEIRA technology,while providing new ideas for other enhanced spectroscopy technologies,quantum photonics and studying light–matter interactions.

In inverted perovskite solar cells (PSCs),effective modification of the interface between the metalcathode and electron transport layer (ETL) is crucial forachieving high performance and stability. Herein, sulfonatedbathocuproine, commonly known as disodium bathocuproinedisulfonate (BCDS), was employed as a cathode buffer layerto address the interfacial issues at the [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyricacid methyl ester (PCBM)/Ag interface. BCDS possesses theability to form coordinate bonds with Ag electrodes. Theutilization of the BCDS buffer layer enhanced the chargeextraction capability at the cathode interface whilesimultaneously achieving interfacial defect passivation,improving interfacial contact and increasing the built-in electricfield. Consequently, a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of25.06% was achieved. Furthermore, owing to the excellent filmforminguniformity of BCDS on PCBM, the stability of thedevice was also improved. After storage in dry air for morethan 2000 h, the device maintained 96% of its initial efficiency. This work underscores the remarkable potential of tailoringcoordination groups to enhance charge extraction efficiency at the ETL-cathode interface, unveiling a promising newfrontier in buffer layer development and performance optimization strategies for PSCs.

BACKGROUND Complicated crown–root fracture (CRF) involves severe injury to the crown, root,and pulp, and may be accompanied by multiple root fractures. The loss of a toothhas lifelong consequences for children and teenagers, but the maintenance of pulphealth and the calcific healing of multiple root fractures are rarely reported in *** SUMMARY This case reports healing of a permanent tooth with complicated crown–root andadditional root fractures, in which pulp health was maintained. A 10-year-old girlfell and fractured the root of her maxillary left central incisor at the cervical *** the coronal fragment was repositioned, the tooth was splinted until thetooth was no longer mobile, 2 years later. Eight years after treatment, the toothhas remained asymptomatic with vital pulp and localized gingival ***-beam computed tomography revealed not only calcified healing of the CRFbut also spontaneous healing in an additional undiagnosed root fracture. Thefracture line on the enamel could not be healed by hard tissue and formed agroove in the cervical crown. It was speculated that the groove was related to thelocalized gingival *** This case provides a clinical perspective of the treatment of a tooth with acomplicated CRF and an additional root fracture.
