Cloud service providers generally co-locate online services and batch jobs onto the same computer cluster,where the resources can be pooled in order to maximize data center resource *** to resource competition between batch jobs and online services,co-location frequently impairs the performance of online *** study presents a quality of service(QoS)prediction-based schedulingmodel(QPSM)for *** performance prediction of QPSM consists of two parts:the prediction of an online service’s QoS anomaly based on XGBoost and the prediction of the completion time of an offline batch job based on ***-line service QoS anomaly prediction is used to evaluate the influence of batch jobmix on on-line service performance,and batch job completion time prediction is utilized to reduce the total waiting time of batch *** the same number of batch jobs are scheduled in experiments using typical test sets such as CloudSuite,the scheduling time required by QPSM is reduced by about 6 h on average compared with the first-come,first-served strategy and by about 11 h compared with the random scheduling *** with the non-co-located situation,QPSM can improve CPU resource utilization by 12.15% and memory resource utilization by 5.7% on *** show that the QPSM scheduling strategy proposed in this study can effectively guarantee the quality of online services and further improve cluster resource utilization.

The SSRF phase-Ⅱ beamline project was launched in 2016. its major goal was to establish a systematic state-of-the-art experimental facility for third-generation synchrotron radiation to solve problems in cutting-edge science and ***, the construction is fully completed. All 16 newly built beamlines with nearly 60 experimental methods passed acceptance testing by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and are in operation.

The rational design of effective bifunctional electrocatalysts is of paramount importance for overall water-splitting technology in sustainable energy ***,bimetallic oxide catalysts(RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4))derived from Ru combined MOF-derivatives(MOF=metal-organic framework)were demonstrated effective for overall water splitting in an alkaline solution,owing to the combined merits such as the two-dimensional interconnected network structure,the synergetic coupling effects and increased chemical *** as-prepared RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) only requires an overpotential of 260 mV for oxygen evolution and 75 mV for hydrogen evolution at 10 mA/cm^(2) in 1 M KOH solution;a low cell voltage of 1.54 V was required to reach the kinetic current density of 10 mA/cm^(2) for the water electrolysis when supporting on glass carbon electrode,and very good stability for 40 h was *** and theoretical results demonstrated the electronic structure optimization of bimetallic RuO_(2)-Co_(3)O_(4) compared to the individual metal oxide,which promoted interface charges redistribution and the d-band center downshift,resulting in increased activity and stability for water-splitting *** work provides a feasible approach for developing bimetallic oxides for application in energy-relevant electrocatalysis reactions.

in this paper, we consider a susceptible-infective-susceptible(SiS) reaction-diffusion epidemic model with spontaneous infection and logistic source in a periodically evolving domain. Using the iterative technique,the uniform boundedness of solution is established. in addition, the spatial-temporal risk index R0(ρ) depending on the domain evolution rate ρ(t) as well as its analytical properties are discussed. The monotonicity of R0(ρ)with respect to the diffusion coefficients of the infected di, the spontaneous infection rate η(ρ(t)y) and interval length L is investigated under appropriate conditions. Further, the existence and asymptotic behavior of periodic endemic equilibria are explored by upper and lower solution method. Finally, some numerical simulations are presented to illustrate our analytical results. Our results provide valuable information for disease control and prevention.

Developing bimetallic catalysts is an effective strategy for enhancing the activity and selectivity of electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reactions,where understanding the structure-activity relationship is essential for catalyst ***,we prepared two Cu-Ag bimetallic catalysts with Ag nanoparticles attached to the top or the bottom of Cu *** tested in a flow cell,the Cu-Ag catalyst with Ag nanoparticles on the bottom achieved a faradaic efficiency of 54%for ethylene production,much higher than the catalyst with Ag nanoparticles on the *** catalysts were further studied in the H-cell and zero-gap MEA *** was found that placing the two metals in the intensified reaction zone is crucial to triggering the tandem reaction of bimetallic *** work elucidates the structure-activity relationship of bimetallic catalysts for CO_(2) reduction and demonstrates the importance of considering both catalyst structures and cell characteristics to achieve high activity and selectivity.

Maximizing conditional independence for unsupervised domain adaptation

Unsupervised domain adaptation(UDA) studies how to transfer a learner from a labeled source domain to an unlabeled target domain with different distributions. Existing methods mainly focus on matching marginal distributions of the source and target domains, which probably leads to a misalignment of samples from the same class but different domains. in this paper, we tackle this misalignment issue by achieving the class-conditioned transferring from a new perspective. Specifically, we propose a method named maximizing conditional independence(MCi) for UDA, which maximizes the conditional independence of feature and domain given class in the reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces. The optimization of conditional independence can be viewed as a surrogate for minimizing class-wise mutual information between feature and domain. An interpretable empirical estimation of the conditional dependence measure is deduced and connected with the unconditional case. Besides, we provide an upper bound on the target error by taking the class-conditional distribution into account, which provides a new theoretical insight for class-conditioned transferring. Extensive experiments on six benchmark datasets and various ablation studies validate the effectiveness of the proposed model in dealing with UDA.

implementing quantum communication between space-separated local networks is essential for designing global quantum networks. in this study, we propose quantum teleportation and remote state preparation schemes between users of two space-separated local networks established by continuous-variable multipartite entangled states. in the proposed schemes, the quantum nodes belonging to the two distant local networks are first entangled by entanglement swapping, and then quantum communication protocols are realized. We show that quantum teleportation between any two users belonging to space-separated local networks can be realized with the assistance of other users, and squeezed thermal states can be remotely prepared in one local network by performing a homodyne projective measurement on the state in another distant local network. Our results provide a feasible approach for quantum communication between spaceseparated quantum networks with multipartite entangled states.
