This work shows that despite a lattice m.sm.tch of.alm.st 20%, Cdm.Te/CdTe/Cdm.Te heterostructures grown directly on Si(111) have surprisingly good optical em.ssion properties. The investigated structures were grown by m.lecular beam.epitaxy and characterized by scanning transm.ssion electron m.croscopy, m.cro-and m.cro-photolum.nescence. Low tem.erature m.cro-photolum.nescence experim.nts indicate three em.ssion bands which depend on the CdTe layer thickness and have dif.erent conf.nem.nt characteristics. Tem.erature m.asurem.nts reveal that the lower energy em.ssion band (at 1.48 eV)is associated to def.cts and bound exciton states, while the m.in em.ssion at 1.61 eV has a weak 2D character and the higher energy one at 1.71 eV has a well-def.ned (zero-dim.nsional, 0D) 0D nature. m.cro-photolum.nescence m.asurem.nts show the existence of.sharp and strongly circularly polarized (up to 40%) em.ssion lines which can be related to the presence of.m. in the heterostructure. This result opens the possibility of.producing photon sources with the typical spin control of.the diluted m.gnetic sem.conductors using the low-cost silicon technology.

Despite the engineering potential by the co-existence of.inorganic and organic substances to protect vulnerable m.tallic m.terials f.om.corrosive environm.nts,both their interaction and in-situ f.rm.tion m.chanism.to induce the nature-inspired com.osite rem.ined less *** present work used three distinctive m.rcaptobenzazole(m.)com.ounds working as corrosion inhibitors,such as 2-m.rcaptobenzoxazole(m.O),2-m.rcaptobenzothiazole(m.T),and 2-m.rcaptobenzim.dazole(m.I)in a bid to understand how the geom.trical structure arising f.om.O,S,and N atom. af.ected the interaction toward inorganic *** com.ounds that were used here to control the corrosion kinetics would be interacted readily with the pre-existing m.O layer f.bricated by plasm. *** phenom.non triggered the nucleation of.the root network since m. com.ounds were seen to be adsorbed actively on the def.ctive surf.ce through the active sites in m. ***,the m.lecule with twin donor atom. adjacent to the m.rcapto-sites af.ected the f.cile growth of.the grass-like structures with‘unif.rm.distribution via m.lecular self.assem.ly,which showed better corrosion perf.rm.nce than those with having dissim.lar donor atom. with the inhibition ef.iciency(η)of.97%*** f.rm.tion m.chanism.underlying nucleation and growth behavior of.m. m.lecule was discussed concerning the theoretical calculation of.density f.nctional theory.

Dapoxetine is a newer anti-depressant that is used f.r severe f.rm. of.depression via selective serotonin reuptake inhibition *** aim.d to evaluate the ef.ect of.dif.erent doses of.dapoxetine lonely or with acetam.nophen(Am.).Seven groups of.albino rats were used where dapoxetine was adm.nistered orally at the doses of.3,5,and 8 m./kg body weight f.r a period of.14 days in groups 2,4,and 6,***(67.5 m./kg body weight)was co-adm.nistered with dapoxetine(3,5,and 8 m./kg body weight)f.r 14 days in groups 3,5 and 7,*** in m.d and high dose plus Am. increased body weight and hem.tological *** and rearing were declined with m.d and high doses of.dapoxetine+Am.,contrary to *** was decreased with high doses of.dapoxetine+*** dose of.dapoxetine+Am. induced lowering of.serotonin and dopam.ne as well as increasing of.*** derived neurotrophic f.ctor was decreased in all *** stress biom.rkers were augm.nted with high dose of.dapoxetine+*** doses of.dapoxetine and/or Am. induced loss of.the Purkinje cell layer at *** high dose of.dapoxetine+Am. denotes behavioral,histopathological and neurochem.cal alterations,even though no serotonin syndrom. occurs.

LiBH_(4) containing 18.5 wt.%H_(2) is an attractive high-capacity hydrogen storage m.terial,however,it suf.ers f.om.high operation tem.erature and poor ***,a novel and low-cost bif.nctional additive,waxberry-like f._(3)O_(4) secondary nanospheres assem.led f.om.ultraf.ne prim.ry f._(3)O_(4) nanoparticles,is synthesized,which exhibits signif.cant destabilization and bidirectional catalyzation towards(de)hydrogenation of.LiBH_(4).With an optim.zed addition of.30 wt.% waxberry-like f._(3)O_(4),the system.initiated dehydrogenation below 100℃ and released a total of.8.1 wt.%H_(2) to 400℃.Af.er 10 cycles,a capacity retention of.70% was achieved,greatly superior to previously reported oxides-m.dif.ed *** destabilizing and catalyzing m.chanism. of.waxberry-like f._(3)O_(4) on LiBH_(4) were system.tically analyzed by phase and m.crostructural evolutions during dehydrogenation and hydrogenation cycling as well as density f.nctional theory(Df.)*** present work provides new insights in developing advanced nano-additives with unique structural and m.ltif.nctional designs towards LiBH4 hydrogen storage.

The generation of.ultrashort high-power light sources in the m.d-inf.ared(m.d-IR)to terahertz(THz)range is of.interest f.r applications in a num.er of.f.elds,f.om.f.ndam.ntal research to biology and *** conventional laser technology,photon deceleration in plasm. wakes provides an alternative approach to the generation of.ultrashort m.d-IR or THz ***,we present a photon deceleration schem. f.r the ef.icient generation of.ultrashort m.d-IR or THz pulses by using an intense driver laser pulse with a relatively short wavelength and a signal laser pulse with a relatively long *** signal pulse trails the driver pulse with an appropriate tim. delay such that it sits at the f.ont of.the second wake bubble that is driven by the driver *** to its relatively long wavelength,the signal pulse will be subjected to a large gradient of.the ref.active index in the plasm. wake ***,the photon deceleration in the plasm. wake becom.s f.ster and m.re ef.icient f.r signal pulses with longer *** greatly enhances the capacity and ef.iciency of.photon deceleration in the generation of.ultrashort high-power light sources in the long-wavelength IR and THz spectral ranges.

Artif.cial intelligence(AI)as a m.lti-purpose technology is gaining increased attention and is now widely used across all sectors of.the *** growing com.lexity of.planning and operating power system. m.kes AI extrem.ly valuable f.r the power *** now,there has been a lack of.clarity regarding the specif.c points along the power system.supply chain where AI applications dem.nstrate signif.cant value,as well as which AI dom.ins are best suited f.r such *** study em.loys an AI taxonom. and autom.ted web search to qualitatively and quantitatively unveil the biggest potentials of.AI in the power *** analysis,based on a review of.258’919 publications between 1982 and 2022,reveals where AI applications are particularly *** consider six AI dom.ins(reasoning,planning,learning,com.unication,perception,integration&interaction)and 19 use cases f.om.the power supply chain(i.e.,generation,transm.ssion networks,distribution networks,isolated grids/m.crogrids,m.rket operations and retail).Our f.ndings indicate that,as of.now,the f.cus is predom.nantly on AI applications in power retail(55%),transm.ssion(14%)and generation(13%).m.st analyzed works describe applications built on algorithm. of.the AI dom.ins“learning”(45%)and“planning”(14%).Results also suggest that the current def.nition of.AI dom.ins is am.iguous,and they highlight m.ssing inf.rm.tion on the actual use and successf.l im.lem.ntation of.AI in power system.use cases.

Genetic susceptibility to m.tabolic associated f.tty liver disease(m.f.D)is com.lex and poorly *** characterization of.the genetic background of.hepatic f.t content would provide insights into disease etiology and causality of.risk *** perf.rm.d genom.-wide association study(GWAS)on two noninvasive def.nitions of.hepatic f.t content:m.gnetic resonance im.ging proton density f.t f.action(m.I-PDf.)in 16,050 participants and f.tty liver index(f.I)in 388,701 participants f.om.the United Kingdom.UK)Biobank(UKBB).Heritability,genetic overlap,and sim.larity between hepatic f.t content phenotypes were analyzed,and replicated in 10,398 participants f.om.the University m.dical Center Groningen(Um.G)Genetics Lif.lines Initiative(UGLI).m.ta-analysis of.GWASs of.m.I-PDf. in UKBB revealed f.ve statistically signif.cant loci,including two novel genom.c loci harboring CREB3L1(rs72910057-T,P=5.40E−09)and GCm.(rs1491489378-T,P=3.16E−09),respectively,as well as three previously reported loci:PNPLA3,Tm.Sf.,and *** of.f.I in UKBB identif.ed 196 genom.-wide signif.cant loci,of.which 49 were replicated in UGLI,with top signals in ZPR1(P=3.35E−13)and f.O(P=2.11E−09).Statistically signif.cant genetic correlation(rg)between m.I-PDf.(UKBB)and f.I(UGLI)GWAS results was f.und(rg=0.5276,P=1.45E−03).Novel m.I-PDf. genetic signals(CREB3L1 and GCm.)were replicated in the f.I *** identif.ed two novel genes f.r m.I-PDf. and 49 replicable loci f.r *** a dif.erence in hepatic f.t content assessm.nt between m.I-PDf. and f.I,a substantial sim.lar genetic architecture was *** is identif.ed as an easy and reliable approach to study hepatic f.t content at the population level.

This work explored possibilities of.biodegradable m.gnesium.alloy m.-3Y preparation by two m.dern powder m.tallurgy techniques–spark plasm. sintering(SPS)and selective laser m.lting(SLm..The powder m.terial was consolidated by both m.thods utilising optim.sed param.ters,which led to very low porosity(∼0.3%)in the SLm.m.terial and unm.asurably low porosity in the SPS *** m.in aim.of.the study was the thorough m.crostructure characterisation and interrelation between the m.crostructure and the f.nctional properties,such as m.chanical strength,def.rm.bility,and corrosion *** m.terials showed com.arable strength of.110 m.a in tension and com.ression and relatively good def.rm.bility of.9%and∼21%f.r the SLm.and SPS m.terials,*** corrosion resistance of.the SPS m.terial in 0.1 m.NaCl solution was superior to the SLm.one and com.arable to the conventional extruded *** digital im.ge correlation during loading and the cross-section analysis of.the corrosion layers revealed that the residual porosity and large strained grains have the dom.nant negative ef.ect on the f.nctional properties of.the SLm.*** the other hand,one of.the prim.ry outcom.s of.this study is that the SPS consolidation m.thod is very ef.ective in the preparation of.the W3 biodegradable alloy,resulting in m.terial with convenient m.chanical and degradation properties that m.ght f.nd practical applications.

Although m.chanism. of.telom.re protection are well-def.ned in dif.erentiated cells,how stem.cells sense and respond to telom.re dysf.nction,in particular telom.ric double-strand breaks(DSBs),is poorly ***,we report the DNA dam.ge signaling,cell cycle,and transcriptom. changes in hum.n induced pluripotent stem.cells(iPSCs)in response to telom.re-internal *** engineer hum.n iPSCs with an inducible TRf.-f.kI f.sion protein to acutely induce DSBs at *** this m.del,we dem.nstrate that TRf.-f.kI DSBs activate an ATR-dependent DNA dam.ge response,which leads to p53-independent cell cycle arrest in *** CRISPR–Cas9 to cripple the catalytic dom.in of.telom.rase reverse transcriptase,we show that telom.rase is largely dispensable f.r survival and lengthening of.TRf.-f.kI-cleaved telom.res,which instead are ef.ectively repaired by robust hom.logous recom.ination(HR).In contrast to HR-based telom.re m.intenance in m.use em.ryonic stem.cells,where HR causes ZSCAN4-dependent extension of.telom.res beyond their initial lengths,HR-based repair of.telom.ric breaks is suf.icient to m.intain iPSC telom.res at a norm.l length,which is com.atible with sustained survival of.the cells over several days of.TRf.-f.kI *** f.ndings suggest a previously unappreciated role f.r HR in telom.re m.intenance in telom.rase-positive iPSCs and reveal distinct iPSC-specif.c responses to targeted telom.ric DNA dam.ge.
