BACKGROUND Brucellosis is the most common zoonosis worldwide and is endemic in the Middle East,Africa,Asia,and Latin ***,it is uncommon in Central Europe,and periprosthetic infections caused by Brucella are therefore *** to the low prevalence and nonspecific clinical presentation of the disease,accurate diagnosis can be challenging;no gold standard currently exists for treating *** SUMMARY Here,we present a 68-year-old Afghan woman living in Austria with a periprosthetic knee infection caused by Brucella *** interval from total knee arthroplasty to septic loosening was five years.A profound medical history and examinations suggested that the patient had been suffering from unrecognized chronic osteoarticular brucellosis prior to total knee *** was successfully treated by two-stage revision surgery and combined antibiotic therapy over three *** Clinicians should consider brucellosis as a possible cause of chronic arthralgia and periprosthetic infection in patients originating from countries with a high brucellosis burden.

研究了2 keV电子在直径为800 nm,长度为10μm的聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(polyethylene terephthalate,PET)纳米通道中的输运过程.结果表明,当纳米微通道倾角为0°时,穿透电子的穿透率可达10%,而当倾角大于几何张角时,穿透电子的透射率小于1%.穿透电子角分布中心没有随微孔倾角的变化而移动,因此没有如在正离子的情况下那样观察到绝缘微孔对电子的导向效应.在充电达到稳态时,当微孔倾角小于几何张角时,电子分裂成上下两个电子斑.穿透电子的全角分布的时间演化表明,在充电开始时,穿透电子为单电子斑.随着入射电荷量(充电时间)的累积,穿透电子被上下拉伸,并逐渐分裂成两个电子斑.当纳米微孔的倾角超过几何张角时,穿透电子的分裂趋于消失.对电子造成微孔内壁上的电荷沉积的模拟计算表明,微孔表面被激发出大量空穴,形成正电荷累积;而部分入射电子沉积于表面以下更深处,形成负电荷层,因此不利于产生类似正离子的导向效应.本文还讨论了造成穿透电子角分布上下分裂的可能原因,并据此提出验证电子和离子充电机制不同的新的实验方法.研究结果为利用绝缘微通道控制电子传输技术的发展提供了支撑.

We treat infinite horizon optimal control problems by solving the associated stationary Bellman equation numerically to compute the value function and an optimal feedback *** dynamical systems under consideration are spatial discretizations of non linear parabolic partial differential equations(PDE),which means that the Bellman equation suffers from the curse of *** non linearity is handled by the Policy Iteration algorithm,where the problem is reduced to a sequence of linear equations,which remain the computational bottleneck due to their high *** reformulate the linearized Bellman equations via the Koopman operator into an operator equation,that is solved using a minimal residual *** the Koopman operator we identify a preconditioner for operator equation,which deems essential in our numerical *** overcome computational infeasability we use low rank hierarchical tensor product approximation/tree-based tensor formats,in particular tensor trains(TT tensors)and multi-polynomials,together with high-dimensional quadrature,*** controlling a destabilized version of viscous Burgers and a diffusion equation with unstable reaction term numerical evidence is given.

This paper gives a short introduction to the typical process route and material properties of these steels in comparison to standard martensitic corrosion-resistant steels. The typical response of these steels to various heat treatment parameters is shown and explained using the three grades M333, N360 and M340 (all made by Bohler Edelstahl GmbH) as examples, and the physical metallurgy of these steels and its consequences for practical heat treatment is explained. The correlation between tempering parameters and their effect on the toughness and corrosion properties is explained in particular detail, showing that these new steels not only offer far better property combinations under the usual heat treatment parameters than standard martensitic corrosion-resistant steels, but that they also open the door to extending heat treatment combinations and properties.

In this article, we analyse three related preconditioned steepest descent algorithms, which are partially popular in Hartree-Fock and Kohn-Sham theory as well as invariant subspace computations, from the viewpoint of minimization of the corresponding functionals, constrained by orthogonality conditions. We exploit the geometry of the admissible manifold, i.e., the invariance with respect to unitary transformations, to reformulate the problem on the Grassmann manifold as the admissible set. We then prove asymptotical linear convergence of the algorithms under the condition that the Hessian of the corresponding Lagrangian is elliptic on the tangent space of the Grassmann manifold at the minimizer.

Current dichotomy between traditional molecular biological and omic research in cancer biology and pharmacology

There is currently a split within the cancer research community between traditional molecular biological hypothesis-driven and the more recent "omic" forms or research. While the molecular biological approach employs the tried and true single alteration-single response formulations of experimentation,the omic employs broad-based assay or sample collection approaches that generate large volumes of data. How to integrate the benefits of these two approaches in an efficient and productive fashion remains an outstanding issue. Ideally,one would merge the understandability,exactness,simplicity,and testability of the molecular biological approach,with the larger amounts of data,simultaneous consideration of multiple alterations,consideration of genes both of known interest along with the novel,cross-sample comparisons among cell lines and patient samples,and consideration of directed questions while simultaneously gaining exposure to the novel provided by the omic approach. While at the current time integration of the two disciplines remains problematic,attempts to do so are ongoing,and will be necessary for the understanding of the large cell line screens including the Developmental Therapeutics Program's NCI-60,the Broad Institute's Cancer Cell Line Encyclopedia,and the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute's Cancer Genome Project,as well as the the Cancer Genome Atlas clinical samples project. Going forward there is significant benefit to be had from the integration of the molecular biological and the omic forms or research,with the desired goal being improved translational understanding and application.
