Response of Wheat to Tillage Plus Rice Residue and Nitrogen Management in Rice-Wheat System

Zero tillage with residues retention and optimizing nitrogen fertilization are important strategies to improve soil quality and wheat （Triticum aestivum L.） yield in rice （Oryza sativa L.）-wheat system. Field experiments were conducted on silty clay soil （Hyperthermic, and Typic Torrilfuvents） in D. I. Khan, Pakistan, to explore the impact of six tillage methods （zero tillage straw retained （ZTsr）, ZT straw burnt （ZTsb）, reduced tillage straw incorporated （RTsi, including tiller and rotavator）, RT straw burnt （RTsb）, conventional tillage straw incorporated （CTsi, including disc plow, tiller, rotavator, and leveling operations）, CT straw burnt （CTsb）） and ifve nitrogen rates, i.e., 0, 100, 150, 200, and 250 kg ha-1 on wheat yield. Mean values for N revealed that spikes m-2, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight （g）, and grain yield （kg ha-1） were signiifcantly higher at 200 kg N ha-1 in both the years as well as mean over years than all other treatments. Mean values for tillage revealed that ZTsr produced highest number of spikes m-2 among tillage methods. However, grains/spike, 1 000-grain weight, and grain yield were higher in tillage methods with either straw retained/incorporated than tillage methods with straw burnt. Interaction effects were signiifcant in year 1 and in mean over years regarding spikes m-2, 1 000-grain weight, total soil organic matter （SOM）, and total soil N （TSN）. ZTsr produced the most spikes m-2 and 1 000-grain weight at 200 kg N ha-1. ZTsr also produced higher SOM and TSN at 200-250 kg N ha-1 at the end of 2 yr cropping. Thus ZTsr with 200 kg N ha-1 may be an optimum and sustainable approach to enhance wheat yield and soil quality in rice-wheat system.

Metal organic frameworks have been employed as high-performance layered double hydroxide(LDH)composite supercapacitor electrode materials but have shown unsatisfactory redox ability and ***,a host-guest CuMo-based polyoxomet-alate-based metal organic framework(POMOF)with copious electrochemically active sites and strong electrochemical redox activi-ties has been effectively coupled with POM-incorporated CoNi-LDH to develop a nanocomposite(NENU-5@CoNi-LDH)by a simple solvothermal *** designed electrode shows a high specific capacity of 333.61 mAh·g^(-1) at 1 A·g^(-1).In addition,the novel hy-brid symmetric supercapacitor NENU-5@CoNi-LDH/active carbon(AC)demonstrated a high energy density of 80.8 Wh·kg^(-1) at a power density of 750.7 W·kg^(-1).Interestingly,the nanocomposite of NENU-5@CoNi-LDH exhibits an outstanding capacitance reten-tion of 79%after 5000 charge-discharge cycles at 10 A·g^(-1).This work provides a new strategy and will be the backbone for future energy storage research.

Physical Properties of Ⅲ-Antiminodes—a First Principles Study

A comprehensive first principles study of III-Antimonide binary compounds is hardly found in literature. We report a broad study of structural and electronic properties of boron antimonide （BSb）, aluminium antimonide （AlSb）, gallium antimonide （GaSb） and indium antimonide （InSb） in zineblende phase based on density functional theory （DFT）. Our calculations are based on Full-PotentiM Lineaxized Augmented Plane wave plus local orbitals （FP- L（APWq-lo）） method. Different forms of exchange-correlation energy functional and corresponding potential are employed for structural and electronic properties. Our computed results for lattice parameters, bulk moduli, their pressure derivatives, and cohesive energy are consistent with the available experimental data. Boron antimonide is found to be the hardest compound of this group. For band structure calculations, in addition to LDA and GGA, we used GGA-EV, an approximation employed by Engel and Vosko. The band gap results with GGA-EV are of significant improvement over the earlier work.

BACKGROUND:Acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF) is common in *** viral E hepatitis is sporadically encountered in this country each year,with a rising incidence in the rainy *** study aimed to identify the etiology of ACLF in Bangladesh. METHODS:In this retrospective study,69 ACLF patients were *** presented to our department at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in *** of diseases was recorded and appropriate investigations were conducted in all patients. RESULTS:Acute hepatitis E virus(HEV)infection was positive in 21.7%(15/69)of the patients,while 14.5% (10/69)had *** gastrointestinal tract hemorrhage was seen in 4.3%of the patients(3/69),while another 4.3%(3/69)had a positive history for alcohol or *** of the patients tested positive for hepatitis A virus infection and no evidence of hepatitis B virus flare was found in any *** specific cause for ACLF could be identified. CONCLUSIONS:Acute HEV infection is a leading cause of ACLF in *** patients were thought to have decompensation of cirrhosis,but subsequently were recognized as having ACLF by a retrospective review according to the definition of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver Working Party Meeting on ACLF in New Delhi in early 2008.

The application of fuzzy theory is vital in all scientific *** construction of mathematical models with fuzziness is little studied in the *** this in mind and for a better understanding of the disease,an SEIR model of malaria transmission with fuzziness is examined in this study by extending a classicalmodel ofmalaria *** parametersβandδ,being function of the malaria virus load,are considered fuzzy *** steady states and the reproduction number of the model are analyzed in fuzzy senses.A numerical technique is developed in a fuzzy environment to solve the studied model,which retains essential properties such as positivity and dynamic ***,numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the analytical results of the developed *** most of the classical methods in the literature,the proposed approach converges unconditionally and can be considered a reliable tool for studying malaria disease dynamics.

The fourth most predominant overwhelming type of trauma is burn injuries *** wound healing dressings help in the wound healing process in a lower time with less *** used dry wound dressing,like absorbent gauze or absorbent cotton,possess limited therapeutic effects and require repeated use,which further exaggerates patients’*** contrast,hydrogels films present a promising alternative to improve healing by guaranteeing a moisture balance at the wound *** aim of the current study was to synthesize Tamarix aphylla(***)extract-loaded hydrogel film with Na-CMC and pectin and to study their wound healing *** Na-CMC/Pectin hydrogels films were synthesized and characterized for HPLC analysis,FTIR,surface morphology,rheology,tensile strength,swelling behavior,drug release kinetics,and in vivo wound healing in an animal *** confirmed the existence of strong interaction between both polymers but no interaction with the *** photographs showed successful embedding of extract in small pores of hydrogel film and showed smooth and homogenous *** and texture profiles indicated that hydrogels behaved as strong *** and erosion were dependent on the amount of the *** showed drug content of three selected formulation(A3,E3 and S3)as 85±0.1%,82.5±0.4%and 80±0.3%,*** release of the drug from the hydrogel was controlled by a Fickian diffusion *** vivo wound healing activity of hydrogel film confirmed that *** extract successfully promoted healing rate by significantly reducing(P<0.05)the size of wound closure compared to the control group,evidenced by intensive collagen formation in histopathological and biochemical *** capability of these hydrogels for burn wounds could be valuable for medical uses as a new window of safe and effective medication.

Influenza A-virus infection represents a global threat causing seasonal outbreaks andpandemics. Among the global threats creating seasonal outbreak, Influenza “A-virus”infection is a dominating theme nowadays. Using the theory of fractional calculus, thisstudy considers an influenza model for quantitative study via the Laplace AdomianDecomposition Method (LADM). We proceed to explore the role of LADM on the proposed model. The method is described and explained for the proposed model whileproviding some plots to present the behavior of the disease.

The Flying Ad-hoc Networks(FANETs)is characterized by the transition from a single large Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)to multiple small UAVs connected in an ad-hoc *** high mobility is the core feature of such networks,they are prone to route breaks within the *** issue of connectivity loss can be coped with,to some extent,by making use of omnidirectional *** modification,however,curtails Quality-of-Service(QoS)requirements of networks in terms of bandwidth,media access delay,coverage and ***,directional antennas have advantages over omnidirectional antennas such as improved transmission range,spatial reuse and high ***,its introduction raises location-dependent issues to the Medium Access Control(MAC)*** calls for an efficient MAC protocol that can cater to new directional antenna models and,at the same time,can counter the constraints associated with the dynamic ***,in this article,we consider a UAV interconnection mechanism that lets the UAVs execute the communication tasks using the directional MAC *** technique is advantageous as compared to the approach of utilizing the MAC protocol using omnidirectional *** scheme is being implemented as a case study for Industry 4.0 inventory and traceability applications in the *** modeling and simulation purposes,we use the Optimized Network Engineering Tool(OPNET)and aim to seek an evaluation with respect to throughput,media access delay,retransmission attempts and data *** results obtained demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
