Mafic and felsic magmatism in the Wadi Kalalat area, South Eastern Desert, Egypt: mineralogy, geochemistry and geodynamic evolution during the Neoproterozoic in the Nubian Shield

In the south Eastern Desert of Egypt,two contrasting types of magmatism(mafic and felsic) are recorded in the Wadi Kalalat area,and form the Gabal El Motaghiarat and Gabal Batuga intrusions,*** two intrusions post-dates ophiolitic and arc associations represented by serpentinite and metagabbro-diorite,*** mafic intrusion has a basal ultramafic member represented by fresh peridotite,which is followed upward by olivine gabbro and anorthositic or *** mafic intrusion pertains to the Alaskan-type mafic-ultramafic intrusions in the Arabian-Nubian Shield(ANS)being of tholeiitic nature and emplaced in a typical arc *** the other hand,the Gabal Batuga intrusion comprises three varieties of fresh A-type granites of high K-calc alkaline nature,which is peraluminous and garnetbearing in parts.A narrow thermal aureole in the olivine gabbro of the mafic intrusion was developed due to the intrusion of the Batuga *** results in the development of a hornfelsic melagabbro variety in which the composition changed from tholeiitic to a calc-alkaline composition due to the addition of S_(i)O_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),alkalis,lithosphile elements(LILEs) such as Rb(70 ppm) and Y(28 ppm) from the felsic *** the thermal aureole,Rb amounts 2-8 ppm and Y lies in the range <*** is believed that the Gabal Batuga felsic intrusion started to emplace during the waning stage of an arc system,with transition from the pre-collisional(i.e.,arc setting) to post-collisional and within plate *** from which the Gabal Batuga granites were fractionated is high-K calc-alkaline giving rise to a typical post-collisional A-type granite(A_(2)-subtype) indicating an origin from an underplating crustal ***,it is stressed here that the younger granites in the ANS are not exclusively post-collisional and within-plate but most likely they started to develop before closure of the arc *** possible source(s) of mafic magmas

Effectiveness of external prestressing in enhancing the non-ductile hanger failure mechanism in reinforced concrete inverted T-beams

Recently,inverted T-beams have been used in reinforced concrete(RC)bridges to support transverse precast *** T-beams,contrary to practice with conventional beams,are loaded on the flanges upper *** loading configuration causes hanger failure due to the generation of vertical tensile stresses near the bottom of the *** key purpose of this study is to investigate the efficiency of vertical external prestressing stainless-steel bars in mitigating non-ductile hanger failure in reinforced concrete inverted *** experimental study on six inverted-T beams,including two un-strengthened specimens,was carried *** study showed that the value of the prestressing level had a considerable impact on the performance of hanger mechanism in relation to crack pattern,ultimate loads,cracking behavior,load-deflection,strains,and *** experimental results indicated that the suggested method for strengthening inverted T-beams had efficacy in reducing the seriousness of the non-ductile hanger failure and resulted in a strength increase of up to 53% when compared to that of the un-strengthened ***,two analytical models for estimating the hanger capacity and the average crack width of the strengthened RC inverted T-beams were *** models that were proposed exhibited a high degree of agreement with the experimental results.

Dodecyl alcohol(DDA) is a promising solid-liquid phase change material(PCM) due to its favorable latent heat storage(LHS) ***,the leakage issue of PCM in a melted state during the heating period and low thermal conductivity restricts its utilization potential in thermal energy storage(TES) *** the same context,the present work aims to overcome the leakage issue and improve the thermal conductivity of the *** this in mind,a novel leak-proof layered double hydroxide(LDH)/DDA composite PCM is proposed through a solution-based impregnation *** leak-proof impregnation ratio of the DDA impregnated within the cavities of the synthesized Al/Fe-LDH was determined to be 60%.Detailed morphological,physicochemical,and thermal properties of the fabricated composite were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),thermalgravimetric analysis(TGA),and thermal cycling *** results show that the LDH/DDA composite has a suitable phase change temperature(about 20℃) for passive solar thermal management of building *** composite PCM showed high LHS enthalpy(about136 J/g),good thermal stability,and cycling LHS *** also showed nearly 152% higher thermal conductivity compared to that of pure DDA,ultimately reducing the melting and solidification time of the pure DDA by 44.9% and 45.5%,respectively.

Defamiliarizing Reality for Mental and Physical Subjection:Rereading Harold Pinter's The Room and The Dumb Waiter as Political Comedies

While Pinter's earliest plays have been recognized in the modernist history of theatre as comedies of menace and his later plays as political comedies,this article argues that his earliest plays are equally very liable to be interpreted as political *** of their absurdist dramatization of people's helpless exposure to external,unidentifiable threats,a common post-WWII characteristic feature of human experience,I claim that The Room and The Dumb Waiter(both written 1957,staged 1960),two model examples of Pinter's earliest oeuvres,do not simply follow the aesthetic of absurdist theatre to express human *** audience's experience of viewing the theatrical performances of both plays in terms of discursive cyclicality or character normality is subverted into one of changeability,strangeness,and *** foreground the political implications of such revolutionary theatrical experience,Pinter's plays are examined in the light of his unique use of defamiliarization,relying not on Brecht's traditional techniques of singing,dancing,image-projecting,or captioning,but on a simple,dual technique of image destruction and *** consists of divesting characters of their normality and portraying them instead as individuals who identify only with unusual images of place,time,body,and *** this special technique of defamiliarization,both plays are examined to reveal Pinter's central political theme of undermining reality for purposes of mental and physical subjections.

Drug-induced liver injury(DILI)is a major problem in the United States,commonly leading to hospital *** DILI is difficult as it is a diagnosis of exclusion requiring a temporal relationship between drug exposure and liver injury and a thorough work up for other *** addition,DILI has a very variable clinical and histologic presentation that can mimic many different etiologies of liver *** scoring systems can assess the probability that a drug caused the liver injury but liver biopsy findings are not part of the criteria used in these *** review will address some of the recent updates to the scoring systems and the role of liver biopsy in the diagnosis of DILI.

Computational Analysis of Novel Extended Lindley Progressively Censored Data

A novel extended Lindley lifetime model that exhibits unimodal or decreasing density shapes as well as increasing,bathtub or unimodal-then-bathtub failure rates, named the Marshall-Olkin-Lindley (MOL) model is *** this research, using a progressive Type-II censored, various inferences of the MOL model parameters oflife are introduced. Utilizing the maximum likelihood method as a classical approach, the estimators of themodel parameters and various reliability measures are investigated. Against both symmetric and asymmetric lossfunctions, the Bayesian estimates are obtained using the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) technique with theassumption of independent gamma priors. From the Fisher information data and the simulatedMarkovian chains,the approximate asymptotic interval and the highest posterior density interval, respectively, of each unknownparameter are calculated. Via an extensive simulated study, the usefulness of the various suggested strategies isassessedwith respect to some evaluationmetrics such as mean squared errors, mean relative absolute biases, averageconfidence lengths, and coverage percentages. Comparing the Bayesian estimations based on the asymmetric lossfunction to the traditional technique or the symmetric loss function-based Bayesian estimations, the analysisdemonstrates that asymmetric loss function-based Bayesian estimations are preferred. Finally, two data sets,representing vinyl chloride and repairable mechanical equipment items, have been investigated to support theapproaches proposed and show the superiority of the proposed model compared to the other fourteen lifetimemodels.

In this editorial,we discuss the article in the World Journal of *** article conducts a meta-analysis of the diagnostic accuracy of the urea breath test(UBT),a non-invasive method for detecting Helicobacter pylori(***)infection in *** is based on radionuclide-labeled *** methods,both invasive and non-invasive,are available for diagnosing *** infection,inclu-ding endoscopy with biopsy,serology for immunoglobulin titers,stool antigen analysis,and *** guidelines recommend UBTs as the primary choice for diagnosing *** infection and for reexamining after eradication *** is used to be the first choice non-invasive test due to their high accuracy,specificity,rapid results,and ***,its performance remains unaffected by the distribution of *** in the stomach,allowing a high flow of patients to be *** its widespread use,the performance characteristics of UBT have been inconsistently described and remain incompletely *** are two UBTs available with Food and Drug Administration approval:The 13C and 14C *** tests are affordable and can provide real-time *** may prefer the 13C test because it is non-radioactive,compared to 14C which uses a radioactive isotope,especially in young children and pregnant *** there was heterogeneity among the studies regarding the diagnostic accuracy of both UBTs,13C-UBT consistently outperforms the *** makes the 13C-UBT the preferred diagnostic ***,the provided findings of the meta-analysis emphasize the significance of precise considerations when choosing urea dosage,assessment timing,and measurement techniques for both the 13C-UBT and 14C-UBT,to enhance diagnostic precision.

In the restructured electricity market,microgrid(MG),with the incorporation of smart grid technologies,distributed energy resources(DERs),a pumped-storage-hydraulic(PSH)unit,and a demand response program(DRP),is a smarter and more reliable electricity *** consists of gas turbines and renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic systems and wind *** bidding strategies,prepared by MG operators,decrease the electricity cost and emissions from upstream grid and conventional and renewable energy sources(RES).But it is inefficient due to the very high sporadic characteristics of RES and the very high outage *** solve these issues,this study suggests non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm Ⅱ(NSGA-Ⅱ)for an optimal bidding strategy considering pumped hydroelectric energy storage and DRP based on outage conditions and uncertainties of renewable energy *** uncertainty related to solar and wind units is modeled using lognormal and Weibull probability ***-based DRP is used,especially considering the time of outages along with the time of peak loads and prices,to enhance the reliability of MG and reduce costs and emissions.

A Deep Learning Approach for Landmines Detection Based on Airborne Magnetometry Imaging and Edge Computing

Landmines continue to pose an ongoing threat in various regions around the world,with countless buried landmines affecting numerous human *** detonation of these landmines results in thousands of casualties reported worldwide ***,there is a pressing need to employ diverse landmine detection techniques for their *** effective approach for landmine detection is UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)based AirborneMagnetometry,which identifies magnetic anomalies in the local terrestrial magnetic *** can generate a contour plot or heat map that visually represents the magnetic field *** the effectiveness of this approach,landmine removal remains a challenging and resource-intensive task,fraughtwith *** computing,on the other hand,can play a crucial role in critical drone monitoring applications like landmine *** processing data locally on a nearby edge server,edge computing can reduce communication latency and bandwidth requirements,allowing real-time analysis of magnetic field *** enables faster decision-making and more efficient landmine detection,potentially saving lives and minimizing the risks involved in the ***,edge computing can provide enhanced security and privacy by keeping sensitive data close to the source,reducing the chances of data exposure during *** paper introduces the MAGnetometry Imaging based Classification System(MAGICS),a fully automated UAV-based system designed for landmine and buried object detection and *** have developed an efficient deep learning-based strategy for automatic image classification using magnetometry dataset *** simulating the proposal in various network scenarios,we have successfully detected landmine signatures present in themagnetometry *** trained models exhibit significant performance improvements,achieving a maximum mean average precision value of 97.8%.
