Hepatic fibrosis is considered a common response to many chronic hepatic injuries. It is a multifunctional process that involves several cell types, cytokines, chemokines and growth factors leading to a disruption of homeostatic mechanisms that maintain the liver ecosystem. In spite of many studies regarding the development of fibrosis, the understanding of the pathogenesis remains obscure. The hepatic tissue remodeling process is highly complex, resulting from the balance between collagen degradation and synthesis. Among the many mediators that take part in this process, the components of the Renin angiotensin system （RAS） have progressively assumed an important role. Angiotensin （Ang） II acts as a profibrotic mediator and Ang-（1-7）, the newly recognized RAS component, appears to exert a counter-regulatory role in liver tissue. We briefly review the liver fibrosis process and current aspects of the RAS. This review also aims to discuss some experimental evidence regarding the participation of RAS mediators in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis, focusing on the putative role of the ACE2-Ang-（1-7）- Mas receptor axis.

An Investigation of the Factors Influencing Community Participation in Forest Management: A Case of Balaka District, Malawi

Forests are vital for the environment through the support which they provide to biodiversity. They also provide cultural, social and economic support to human welfare. Forest degradation is attributed to multiple land uses which include agriculture, human settlement, the use of trees as the main source of energy and other infrastructure development. The main objective of the study was to assess factors that influence community participation in forest management in Kangankundi village forest area in Balaka District, Southern Malawi. Simple random sampling was used to select 100 community members who were interviewed in the study. Data were analyzed in SPSS version 22. The results showed positive significant relationship between community awareness and community participation (p = 0.015), and also between economic benefits and community involvement (p = 0.003). Involvement was not affected by income-generating activity which showed that (p = 0.781) and level of education (p = 0.535). Community awareness and economic benefits appear to be the main factors influencing community participation. Firewood and bamboos were noted to be the most resource obtained from the forest and beekeeping was also the income-generating activity in the study which is being promoted. It is concluded that community participation is influenced by many factors. The study recommends that youth must be deliberately involved in forest management as opposed to the current participation which is dominated by elderly people.

Many studies have examined the genetic contribution to ***,data on suicide in the Italian population are *** therefore aimed to address this gap by investigating a cohort of 111 Italians for whom a verdict of suicide had been declared in court in Florence,Italy between 2007 and *** cohort included 86 men and 25 *** samples were obtained from tissues or blood,and 22 genes from multiple neurobiological pathways previously shown to be associated with the pathogenesis of suicide were ***-generation sequencing was used to compare these gene sequences with those from a large,normal *** this study,we identified 19 gene variants that were present at significantly lower frequencies in our Italian cohort than in the general *** addition,four missense mutations were identified in four different genes:Monoamine Oxidase A(MAOA),5-Hydroxytryptamine Receptor 2 A(HTR2A),Sodium Voltage-Gated Channel Alpha Subunit 8(SCN8A),and Nitric Oxide Synthase 3(NOS3).Our study identified several potential genetic links with suicide in a cohort of Italians and supports a relationship between specific genetic variants and suicidal behaviour in this population.

目的:调查在埃努古春季结膜炎的临床特征。方法:对连续的100例在埃努古州科技大学(ESUT)教学医院就诊春季角结膜炎的患者,进行关于生物数据,发病年龄,家族史和相关过敏史的前瞻性问卷调查。其后,患者在×2放大镜或裂隙灯下进行检查。结果:在100例患者中,男68例,女32例。72%<15岁。发病的主要(65.0%)在4岁之前。大部分(59.6%)的人在干燥炎热的季节和季节变化时瘙痒更为剧烈。只有29%有过敏体质有关,其中包括过敏性鼻炎(75.9%),哮喘(10.3%)和特应性皮炎(13.8%)。角膜的过敏反应不是一个突出的特点。结论:在埃努古春季结膜炎主要患者是儿童,男性比女性更加受到影响。发病常见于10岁左右。大多数患者全年发痒,但在一些在炎热的旱季发痒严重。过敏性鼻炎是最常见的过敏性并发症。

Mechanical properties of a clay soil reinforced with rice husk under drained and undrained conditions

Fiber-reinforced soils have been increasingly used in geotechnical *** the years,research has sought to understand and investigate the influences of fibers as reinforcement in soilefiber *** study assessed the behavior of clayey soil in the city of Curitiba(Paraná,Brazil),adding rice husk fiber(RHF),an industrial waste from Cooperativa Agroindustrial in Alegrete(Rio Grande do Sul,Brazil).To evaluate the effect of the presence of natural RHF on the mechanical behavior of compacted soil,aspects such as the influence of fiber content and the drained and undrained behaviors of the soil were evaluated through unconfined triaxial compression *** following tests were realized:soil granulometry,specific mass of solids and Atterberg *** were produced in quadruplicate for the soil and mixtures using the RHF contents of 0.5%,0.75%,1%and 1.5%to determine the unconfined compressive strength(UCS).Triaxial tests were realized on a pure soil specimen and the specimens with 1%RHF under confining pressures of 50 kPa,100 kPa,200 kPa and 400 *** interactions at the interface between husk surface and soil were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM).In UCS tests,specimens with RHF percentages of 1%and 1.5%presented the highest results,with an increment of 36%compared to the soil without *** results of the consolidated drained triaxial compression tests show that in terms of effective stress,there was a small difference in the strength of the compacted pure soil and soil with the addition of *** the undrained tests,the strength increased with the inclusion of husk,with a reduction of 50%in cohesion and an increment of 22%in friction angle for specimens containing RHF compared to the soil without RHF additions.

Most diversity restoration projects are not to improve diversity per se, but rather to enhance the presence and abundance of species that are characteristic of reference or target community. The use of Bromus inermis suppresses annual noxious grasses and increases the control of other-forb group these species are also noxious weeds;these may be substituted with another perennial species of the same functional group all through the whole experimental period, as it occurs with other perennial-forb Carduus tenuifolius. A field experiment was conducted on abandoned arable land with sown low and high diversity treatments and natural colonization following typical farming practice for the site. Experimental plots were installed on former agricultural land that had been cropped with (a rotation of) monocultures until the end of 1995. The experiment was organized according to a block design with five replicate blocks. An opposite trend was performed among the colonizer species, because the colonizer grasses were relegated by the high dominance of sown grasses. But at the same time, the sown grasses facilitated the dominance of other colonizer-forbs species;therefore its functional replacement in the community due to sown effect was again tested. However, in natural conditions the other-forbs group was the dominant group, without taking into account the stepping-stone treatment and there was also a functional change of dominance. Our study has demonstrated the restoration effectiveness of species richness at abandoned arable land and may be enhanced by sowing late successional species.

Effect of Na Fe EDTA-Fortified Soy Sauce on Anemia Prevalence in China: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Objective To assess the effect of sodium iron ethylenediaminetetraacetate （NaFeEDTA）-fortified soy sauce on anemia prevalence in the Chinese population. Methods A systematic review was performed to identify potential studies by searching the electronic databases of PubMed, Cochrane Library, WHO Library, HighWire, CNKI, and other sources. The selection criteria included randomized controlled trials that compared the efficacy of NaFeEDTA-fortified soy sauce with that of non-fortified soy sauce. Anemia rates and hemoglobin levels were the outcomes of interest. Inclusion decisions, quality assessment, and data extraction were performed by two reviewers independently. A total of 16 studies met the inclusion criteria for anemia rate analysis, of which 12 studies met the inclusion criteria for hemoglobin analysis. All included studies assessed the effect of NaFeEDTA-fortified soy sauce on anemia rates and hemoglobin concentrations. Results After the intervention, the hemoglobin concentration increased and anemia rates decreased significantly as compared with the non-fortified soy sauce groups. For anemia rates, data from 16 studies could be pooled, and the pooled estimate odds ratio was 0.25 （95% CI 0.19-0.35）. For hemoglobin concentrations, data from 12 studies could be pooled, and the pooled weighted mean difference was 8.81 g/L （95% CI 5.96-11.67）. Conclusion NaFeEDTA-fortified soy sauce has a positive effect on anemia control and prevention in the at-risk population.
