In this problem,simultaneous effects of Joule and viscous dissipation in three-dimensional flow of nanoliquid have been addressed in slip flow regime under time dependent rotational oscillations.Silver nanoparticles are submerged in the base fluid(water)due to their chemical and biological features.To increment the novelty,effects of cubic autocatalysis chemical reactions and radiative heat transfer have been incorporated in the related boundary layer equations.Dimensionless partial differential system is solved by employing the proposed implicit finite difference approach.Convergence conditions and stability criteria are obtained to ensure the convergence and accuracy of solutions.A comparative analysis is proposed for no-slip nanofluid flow(NSNF)and slip nanofluid flow(SNF).Variations in skin-friction coefficients,Sherwood and Nusselt numbers against physical parameters are tabulated.It is investigated that velocity slip and temperature jump significantly control drag forces and rate of heat transfer.

The effects of gender-affirming hormone therapy on the skeletal integrity and fracture risk in transitioning adolescent trans girls are unknown.To address this knowledge gap,we developed a mouse model to simulate male-to-female transition in human adolescents in whom puberty is first arrested by using gonadotrophin-releasing hormone analogs with subsequent estradiol treatment.Puberty was suppressed by orchidectomy in male mice at 5 weeks of age.At 3 weeks post-surgery,male-to-female mice were treated with a high dose of estradiol(~0.85 mg)by intraperitoneal silastic implantation for 12 weeks.Controls included intact and orchidectomized males at 3 weeks post-surgery,vehicle-treated intact males,intact females and orchidectomized males at 12 weeks post-treatment.Compared to male controls,orchidectomized males exhibited decreased peak bone mass accrual and a decreased maximal force the bone could withstand prior to fracture.Estradiol treatment in orchidectomized male-to-female mice compared to mice in all control groups was associated with an increased cortical thickness in the mid-diaphysis,while the periosteal circumference increased to a level that was intermediate between intact male and female controls,resulting in increased maximal force and stiffness.In trabecular bone,estradiol treatment increased newly formed trabeculae arising from the growth plate as well as mineralizing surface/bone surface and bone formation rate,consistent with the anabolic action of estradiol on osteoblast proliferation.These data support the concept that skeletal integrity can be preserved and that long-term fractures may be prevented in trans girls treated with GnRHa and a sufficiently high dose of GAHT.Further study is needed to identify an optimal dose of estradiol that protects the bone without adverse side effects.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest cancers,with less than 9%survival rates.Pancreatic Ductal Adeno Carcinoma(PDAC)is common with the general public affecting most people older than 45.Early detection of PDAC is often challenging because cancer symptoms will progress only at later stages(advanced stage).One of the earlier symptoms of PDAC is Jaundice.Patients with diabetes,obesity,and alcohol consumption are also at higher risk of having pancreatic cancer.A decision support system is developed to detect pancreatic cancer at an earlier stage to address this challenge.Features such as Mean Hue,Mean Saturation,Mean Value,and Mean Standard Deviation are computed after color space conversion from RGB to HSV.Fuzzy k-Nearest Neighbor(F-kNN)is designed for classification.The system proposed is trained and tested using features extracted from jaundiced eye images.The proposed system results indicate that this model can predict pancreatic cancer as earlier as possible,helping clinicians make better decisions for surgical planning.

The richness and diversity of protein rich fermented foods are chiefy observed in many Asian countries.They are potential source of wide range of biologically active peptides depending on the protein source and starter culture used for fermentation.The major protein rich fermented foods popularly consumed in Asian countries include fermented soybean,fermented milk and fermented fsh products.These foods are fermented using diferent starter cultures including lactic acid bacteria(LAB),Bacillus species,yeast and flamentous fungi.Fermentation by individual starter culture results in unique products by a series of enzymatic hydrolysis,leading to production of a diversity of bioactive peptides responsible for health benefts.Bioactive peptides in Asian protein rich fermented foods have been reported for exhibiting antihypertensive,antioxidant,antibacterial,antidiabetic and anticancer properties.This review is focused on Asian protein rich fermented foods,associated microbes and bioactive peptides responsible for health benefts.

Docosanol is the only US Food and Drug Administration(FDA)approved over-the-counter topical product for treating recurrent oral-facial herpes simplex labialis.Validated analytical methods for docosanol are required to demonstrate the bioequivalence of docosanol topical products.A gas chromatography/selected ion monitoring mode mass spectrometry(GC/SIM-MS)method was developed and validated for docosanol determination in biological samples.Docosanol and isopropyl palmitate(internal standard)were separated on a high-polarity GC capillary column with(88%cyanopropy)aryl-polysiloxane employed as the stationary phase.The ions of m/z 83 and 256 were selected to monitor docosanol and isopropyl palmitate,respectively;the total run time was 20 min.The GC/SIM-MS method was validated in accordance with US FDA guidelines,and the results met the US FDA acceptance criteria.The docosanol calibration standards were linear in the 100-10000 ng/mL concentration range(R^(2)>0.994).The recoveries for docosanol from the receptor fluid and skin homogenates were>93.2%and>95.8%,respectively.The validated method was successfully applied to analyze ex vivo human cadaver skin permeation samples.On applying Abreva®cream tube and Abreva®cream pump,the amount of docosanol that penetrated human cadaver skin at 48 h was 21.5±7.01 and 24.0±6.95 ng/mg,respectively.Accordingly,we concluded that the validated GC/SIM-MS was sensitive,specific,and suitable for quantifying docosanol as a quality control tool.This method can be used for routine analysis as a costeffective alternative to other techniques.

Malignant mesothelioma(MM)is a rare,aggressive solid tumor with limited therapeutic options and poor therapeutic response.The role of immunotherapy in MM is now well established and therapeutic options,such as checkpoint inhibitors,are increasingly being approved.Chimeric antigen receptor(CAR)-T cell therapy is successfully implemented in several hematologic cancers,but currently has inadequate effect in solid tumors,owing to several limitations,such as trafficking and infiltration,limited T cell persistence and exhaustion,the immunosuppressive TME and tumor antigen heterogeneity.The lack of uniform and universal expression of tumor-associated antigens(TAAs)on tumor cells,as well as TAA heterogeneity following tumor editing post-therapy,are issues of significant importance to CAR-T cell and associated antigen-targeting therapies.Our review discusses the concept of tumor antigen heterogeneity in MM,the consequences for CAR-T cell therapies and the strategies to overcome it.

BACKGROUND Sarcoidosis is a granulomatous disease of unknown etiology that most often impacts the lungs.Cutaneous manifestations of sarcoidosis are seen among 9%- 37% of patients.Subcutaneous sarcoidosis is a rare presentation of cutaneous sarcoidosis with estimates of frequency ranging from 1.4%-16%.To date,very few articles and case reports have been written about this subject.In this paper,we describe a case of subcutaneous sarcoidosis and perform a review of the literature to determine if there are commonalities among patients who present with subcutaneous sarcoidosis.CASE SUMMARY A 38-year-old female,with a past medical history of arthritis and recurrent nephrolithiasis,presents with an 8-mo history of 4 firm,asymptomatic,skincolored nodules on her left and right upper extremities and neck.Needle biopsy and post-excisional pathology report both revealed well-formed,dense,noncaseating granulomas localized to the subcutaneous tissue.Chest computed tomography revealed mild mediastinal lymphadenopathy.A diagnosis of subcutaneous sarcoidosis was made,and the lesions were surgically removed.CONCLUSION Commonalities among patients presenting with subcutaneous sarcoidosis include: middle-aged female,lesions localizing to the upper or lower limbs,lymphadenopathy or pulmonary infiltration on chest imaging,elevated serum angiotensin-converting enzyme.

Solvent induced shape change in CePO_4:Dy^(3+) nanophosphors and effect of metal ions: A photoluminescence study

The influence of different solvents and metal ions （Li^＋, Ba^2＋, Bi^3＋） on the crystallization behaviour, morphology and enhancement in photoluminescence intensity of Dy^3＋ doped CePO4 were investigated. Highly crystalline luminescent nanophosphors of CePO4：DY^3＋ re-dispersible in polar solvents were successfully prepared via a simple polyol route at 140 ℃. As-prepared Dy^3＋ doped CePO4 nanophosphors prepared in EG and DMF appeared to have crystalline monoclinic phase but exhibited hexagonal phase when prepared in water and water mixed solvents, The hexagonal phase transformed to monoclinic phase after heating at 900 ℃. TEM study revealed different shapes of the synthesized nanophosphors with change of solvents. The luminescence intensity of 4F9/2→6H15/2 at 478 nm （blue） was found to be more prominent than 4F9/2→6H13/2 at 572 nm （yellow）. The introduction of metal ions （Li＋, Ba2＋ and Bi3＋） in CePO4：Dy3＋ led to considerable luminescent enhancement. The nanophosphors were subsequently incorporated in polymer films of PVA which showed the characteristic emissions of Dy3＋. It also served as an effective method to improve the performance of polymer materials and brought about novel properties in them.

Objective:To explore the effect of the protease inhibitor from Agaricus bisporus(J.E.Lange)Imbach(AbPI)on glucose uptake and oxidative stress in 3 T3-L1 adipocytes.Methods:Adipocytes were differentiated and stained with OilRed-O staining to confirm adipogenesis.The toxic/protective effect of AbPI on the adipocytes was determined by MTT assay,intracellular reactive oxygen species generation through flow cytometry,and morphologically through confocal microscopy using propidium iodide,4,6-diamino-2-phenylindol dihydrochloride,and 2’,7’-dichlorofluorescein diacetate dyes.The uptake of fluorescent glucose analog,2-[N-(7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazol-4-yl)amino]-2-deoxy-d-glucose by adipocytes was also studied through confocal microscopy.Results:MTT assay showed that the cell survival rate was(28.00±3.00)%,(92.33±2.60)%,and(71.34±2.10)%in the presence of 2 mM H2O2,AbPI alone,and AbPI and H2O2 both,respectively,in comparison to the control.Oil-Red-O staining indicated that Ab PI enhanced adipogenesis.AbPI stimulated the glucose uptake by adipocytes similar to the drug rosiglitazone,and showed insulinsensitizing effect in the presence of insulin,but failed to stimulate the uptake in the absence of insulin.Intracellular reactive oxygen species generation was reduced in differentiating adipocytes upon Ab PI treatment.Confocal microscopy showed that the damaged cell population rose to 3.50%,117.84%,and 261.50%in the presence of Ab PI alone,AbPI with H2O2,and H2O2 alone,respectively.Conclusions:The protease inhibitor enhances glucose uptake by adipocytes and exhibits a cytoprotective effect on them.

MicroRNA-153(miR-153),belongs toa dass of small non-coding RNA.It is a aritical regulator of gene expression at the post-transcriptional lewel which interacts with the functional mRNA at 3UTR rgion and suppresses the expression of the mRNA.More recently,it has become apparent that dhanges in the miR-153 axpression lead to invasion,metastasis,angiogenesis and various types of tumor progression.This review summarizes the connection between dysrgulation of miR-153 and various typas of cancer progression.miR-153 regulates various signaling pathways to inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis in the ancer cell and also show synergistic activity with anticancer drugs.In addition to this,the oncogenic bchavior of miR-153 and their use as a potential biomarker in cancer was also reviewed.
