Effects of feeding rate and formula fineness degree of ring die pellet mill on mechanical property, physical quality, energy requirements, and production cost of poultry diets

The effect of a machine feeding rate(FR;1,1.5 and 2 Mg/h)and/or three levels of selected fineness degree(FD;3,5 and 7 mm)on machine performance,pellet physical parameters,required energy and production cost of three main types of broilers diets were examined in this *** examined broiler diets were formulated to meet the Ross 308 strain requirements.A complete factorial design(3×3×3)was used to identify the effects of studied factors on the pellet mill machine and pellet *** obtained results indicated that the pellet mill productivity significantly(p˂0.001)improved through increased pellet mill feeding rate *** addition,the machine pelleting efficiency was found to be significantly affected by all studied variables and their *** the total power consumption of the machine showed no variations under the impact of the tested factors or with any of their *** the pellet physical quality indices,all broiler diets with all selected FD and lower FR had the maximum durability and bulk density ***,lower feeding rates were associated with higher hardness *** lowest production costs were substantially correlated with high FR and intermediate FD(5 mm).Furthermore,production costs were determined to be reduced in finisher broiler diets under different feeding ***,manufacturing costs of finisher broiler meals were observed to decrease in several feeding ***,these findings indicate the capabilities of producing high-quality pellets and reducing the needed production costs by optimizing feeding rates to 2 Mg/h and 2 mm fineness in broiler diets.

Universal newborn hearing screening program in saudi Arabia: Current insight

Newborn hearing screening(NHs) programs are essential to identify hearing loss early in life and to improve outcomes in children. In saudi Arabia, the national NHs program has been operational since 2016;however, few studies have evaluated its status, and none have covered all provinces across the country. This cross-sectional retrospective study provides an overview of the program's status across all provinces, focusing on screening coverage rates, referral/fail rates, and follow-up procedures. In 2021, 199,034 newborns were screened, with a coverage rate of 92.6% and an overall referral/fail rate of 1.87%. These performance measures provide a foundation for future progress and improvements. This study highlights the importance of ongoing efforts to enhance the program's effectiveness and sustainability.

Nuclear design of an integrated small modular reactor based on the APR-1400 for RO desalination purposes

The United Arab Emirates lacks conventional water resources and relies primarily on desalination plants powered by fossil fuels to produce fresh *** desalination is a proven technology,cost-competitive,and sustainable option capable of integrating the existing largescale desalination plants to produce both freshwater and ***,small Modular Reactors(sMRs)are promising designs with advanced simplified configurations and inherent safety *** this study,an Integrated Desalination sMR that produces thermal energy compatible with the capacity of a fossil fuel-powered desalination plant in the UAE was ***,the APR-1400 reactor core was used to investigate two 150 MWthconceptual sMR core designs,core A and core B,based on two-dimensional parameters,radius,and ***,the CAsMO-4 lattice code was used to generate homogenized few-group constants for optimized fuel assembly loading ***,to find the best core configuration,sIMULATE-3 was used to calculate the core key physics parameters such as power distribution,reactivity coefficients,and critical boron *** addition,different reflector materials were investigated to compensate for the expected high leakage of the small-sized sMR *** pan shape core B model(142.6132 cm diameter,100 cm height,and radially reflected by stainless steel)was selected as the best core configuration based on its calculated physics *** B met the design and safety criteria and indicated low total neutron leakage of 11.60%and flat power distribution with 1.50 power peaking *** to core A,it has a more negative MTC value of-6.93 pcm/°F with lower *** a 2-batch scheme,the fuel is discharged at 42.25 GWd/MTU burnup after a long cycle length of 1.58 *** core B model offers the highest specific power of 36.56 kW/kgU while utilizing the smallest heavy metal mass compared with the sMART and Nuscale models.

Rock Plasticity from Microtomography and Upscaling

We present a workflow for upscaling of rock properties using microtomography and percolation theory. In this paper we focus on a pilot study for assessing the plastic strength of rocks from a digital rock image. Firstly, we determine the size of mechanical representative volume ele- ment （RVE） by using upper/lower bound dissipation computations in accordance with thermody- namics. Then the mechanical RVE is used to simulate the rock failure at micro-scale using FEM. Two cases of different pressures of linear Drucker-Prager plasticity of rocks are computed to compute the macroscopic cohesion and the angle of internal friction of the rock. We also detect the critical exponents of yield stress for sealing laws from a series of derivative models that are created by a shrinking/expanding algorithm. We use microtomographic data sets of two carbonate samples and compare the results with previous results. The results show that natural rock samples with irregular structures may have the critical exponent of yield stress different from random models. This unexpected result could have significant ramifications for assessing the stability of solid materials with internal structure. Therefore our pilot study needs to be extended to investigate the scaling laws of strength of many more natural rocks with irregular microstructure.

Real-time applications based on Wireless sensor Network(WsN)tech-nologies are quickly increasing due to intelligent *** the most signiﬁcant resources in the WsN are battery power and *** stra-tegies improve the power factor and secure the WsN *** takes more electricity to forward data in a *** numerous clustering methods have been developed to provide energy consumption,there is indeed a risk of unequal load balancing,resulting in a decrease in the network’s lifetime due to network inequalities and less *** possibilities arise due to the cluster head’s limited life *** cluster heads(CH)are in charge of all activities and con-trol intra-cluster and inter-cluster *** proposed method uses Lifetime centric load balancing mechanisms(LCLBM)and Cluster-based energy optimiza-tion using a mobile sink algorithm(CEOMs).LCLBM emphasizes the selection of CH,system architectures,and optimal distribution of *** addition,the LCLBM was added with an assistant cluster head(ACH)for load *** consumption,communications latency,the frequency of failing nodes,high security,and one-way delay are essential variables to consider while evaluating *** will choose a cluster leader based on the inﬂuence of the fol-lowing parameters on the energy balance of *** to simulatedﬁnd-ings,the suggested LCLBM-CEOMs method increases cluster head selection self-adaptability,improves the network’s lifetime,decreases data latency,and bal-ances network capacity.

Immunomodulatory effect of garlic oil extract on schistosoma mansoni infected mice

Objective:To assess the effect potency,and the immunomodulatory response of garlic oil extract in enhancing the host's immune system against the disorders caused by schistosoma mamoni(***) in mice at different stages of worm ***:A total of 70 male CD-I swiss albino mice were divided into 7 *** Ⅰ:healthy *** Ⅱ:garlic oil group orally administrating 100 mg garlic oil extract /kg ***.3 d a week for 6 *** Ⅲ:infected with *** cercariae and left untreated for 42 *** Ⅳ:treated with garlic oil extract from day 1 to day 7 post infection(PI).Group Ⅴ:treated with garlic oil extract from day 14 till day 21 *** Ⅵ:administrating garlic oil extract from day 35 until day 42 *** Ⅶ received oil extract from the first day of infection for 42 ***:Garlic oil extract showed changes in the parasite tegument with a significant decrease in worm burden,hepatic and intestinal ova count with a decline in granuloma number and *** alterations were accompanied with a reduction in serum TNF- α,ICAM-1,IgG and IgM after 7 and 42 d post *** cercarial ***:Results obtained confirmed the effect of garlic oil extract on the larval and mature stage of the parasite and in enhancing the host's immune system against the disorders caused by *** in mice.

Natural antioxidants in the management of Parkinson's disease: Review of evidence from cell line and animal models

Parkinson’s disease(PD) is a chronic progressive neurodegenerative disease. It results from the death of dopaminergic neurons. The pathophysiological mechanisms in idiopathic PD include the production of α-synuclein and mitochondrial respiratory function-affecting complex I, caused by reactive oxygen ***, the use of natural antioxidants in PD may provide an alternative therapy that prevents oxidative stress and reduces disease progression. In this review, the effects of hydroxytyrosol, Ginkgo biloba,Withania somnifera, curcumin, green tea, and Hypericum perforatum in PD animal and cell line models are compared and discussed. The reviewed antioxidants show evidence of protecting neural cells from oxidative stress in animal and cell models of PD. However, the clinical efficacy of these phytochemicals needs to be optimised and further investigated.

Understanding the mutual relationship between the liver and the heart is important for both hepatologists and cardiologists. Hepato-cardiac diseases can be classified into heart diseases affecting the liver, liver diseases affecting the heart, and conditions affecting the heart and the liver at the same time. Differential diagnoses of liver injury are extremely important in a cardiologist's clinical practice calling for collaboration between cardiologists and hepatologists due to the many other diseases that can affect the liver and mimic haemodynamic injury. Acute and chronic heart failure may lead to acute ischemic hepatitis or chronic congestive hepatopathy. Treatment in these cases should be directed to the primary heart disease. In patients with advanced liver disease, cirrhotic cardiomyopathy may develop including hemodynamic changes, diastolic and systolic dysfunctions, reduced cardiac performance and electrophysiological abnormalities. Cardiac evaluation is important for patients with liver diseases especially before and after liver transplantation. Liver transplantation may lead to the improvement of all cardiac changes and the reversal of cirrhotic cardiomyopathy. There are systemic diseases that may affect both the liver and the heart concomitantly including congenital, metabolic and inflammatory diseases as well as alcoholism.
