In vitro multiplication of date palm is a very promising way for the rehabilitation of Moroccan palm devastated. The objective of this work was to study the development of vitroplants introduced into traditional and modem palm of the Errachidia region. The procedure followed is to make descriptive diagnoses in different sites where the palm was introduced and to evaluate the mortality of plants and cultural practices. The mortality rates varied from 78% to 19% in new plantation depending on the cultivation technique used. At the traditional palm, the rate of recovery ofplantlets was zero. The mortality is higher in Nejda cultivar compared to Boufegouss. This variety also presented a better adaptation in terms of shoot height in comparison with the development of Nejda and Mejhoul varieties. The production of offshoots as well as inflorescences takes place three years after plantation. The importance of improving cultivation techniques in date palm for the development of this sector in Morocco is discussed.

Reducing Broadband Shortwave Radiometer Calibration-Bias Caused by Longwave Irradiance in the Reference Direct Beam

Shortwave radiometers such as pyranometers, pyrheliometers, and photovoltaic cells are calibrated with traceability to consensus reference, maintained by Absolute Cavity Radiometers (ACRs). The ACR is an open cavity with no window that measures the extended broadband spectrum of the terrestrial direct solar beam irradiance, unlike shortwave radiometers that cover a limited range of the spectrum. The difference between the two spectral ranges may lead to calibration bias that can exceed 1%. This article describes a method to reduce the calibration bias resulting from using broadband ACRs to calibrate shortwave radiometers by using an ACR with Schott glass window to measure the reference broadband shortwave irradiance in the terrestrial direct solar beam from 0.3 μm to 3 μm. Reducing the calibration bias will result in lowering the historical solar irradiance by at least 0.9%. The published results in this article might raise the awareness of the calibration discrepancy to the users of such radiometers, and open a discussion within the solar and atmospheric science community to define their expectation from such radiometers to the radiometers’ manufacturers and calibration providers.

Objective: To evaluate the in vitro cytotoxic activity of the fractionated extract as well as isolated compounds of Arum palaestinum Boiss.(A. palaestinum)(black calla lily), and to identify the volatile components which may be responsible for the potential antitumor ***: A. palaestinum was collected from its natural habitats and subjected to phytochemical analysis for separation of pure compounds. In vitro cytotoxic activity was investigated against four human carcinoma cell lines Hep2, He La, Hep G2 and MCF7 for the fractionated extract and isolated compounds. While, the diethyl ether fraction was subjected to GC–MS analysis as it exhibited the most potent cytotoxic effect to evaluate the active constituents responsible for the cytotoxic ***: Four flavonoid compounds were isolated(luteolin, chrysoeriol, isoorientin,isovitexin) from the diethyl ether and ethyl acetate. The extracts and the pure isolated compounds showed a significant high antiproliferative activity against all investigated cell lines. The GC–MS analysis revealed the separation and identification of 15 compounds representing 95.01% of the extract and belonging to different groups of chemical ***: The present study is considered to be the first report on the cytotoxic activities carried out on different selected fractions and pure compounds of A. palaestinum to provide evidences for its strong antitumor activities. In addition,chrysoeriol and isovitexin compounds were isolated for the first time from the studied taxa.

With the developing of juices and beverages industry, the processors need to bring new nutritional fortified products to capture the market as per the demand of the consumer who needs healthier product. Thus, this study aimed to the production of mango beverage and mango flavored beverage fortified with chia seeds;evaluate the chemical properties of chia seeds and study the effect of adding carboxymethyl cellulose, xanthan gum and low acyl gellan gum at the concentrations of 0.05% and 0.1% on the stability of suspension chia seeds in beverage during storage at ambient temperature for six months. Viscosity, color, zeta potential, suspension of seeds and organoleptic properties were evaluated. Results showed that chia seeds were rich in protein, omega-3 fatty acids and dietary fiber. The addition of 0.05% gellan gum led to improved appearance attributes and the highest stability of suspension of chia seeds for six months, and was the sample which scored highest for overall acceptability compared to the other samples of beverages. Results indicated that using chia seeds with the addition of 0.05% low acyl gellan gum led to the production of fortified mango beverage and mango flavored beverage with high stability for six months.

Click reactions are not specific reactions, but they are a way of generating products that follow examples in nature by joining small moieties, with each other producing a huge molecule in a good yield. The mind of that reaction is used in biomolecules synthesis, pharmacological and various biometric applications. The first Click reaction is the Copper compounds-catalyzed reaction of an azide with an alkyne （CuAAC）, this copper-catalyzed ＂click＂ does not require legands on the metal but the metal oxides also can accelerate the reactions. For enhancement the products of Click reactions we were replacing the copper compounds in a classical reaction by the prepared nanocopper compound （NPs）. And measure the consumption of starting material. Behind the evolution is the catalytic effect of nanocopper compounding （NPs） on （H2O2）. Owing to the huge surface area of nanocopper compound （NPs）, it was found that： the （NPs） can speed up decomposition of H2O2, also can accelerate the classical click reaction.

The aim of the present study was to estimate the production cost of dates of cv. Majhoul (Phoenix dactylifera L.) as part of the Moroccan strategy to develop the date palm sector, and to compare it to that reported in the main exporting regions. Data were collected through surveys of farmers and farm owners carried out in the “Meski Boudnib” extension zone during 2018 and 2019, as well as from studies performed by some governmental organizations. The surveys were conducted on 30 modern and productive date palm farms, managed in monoculture and equipped with localized irrigation systems. All fixed and variable costs were calculated. It was found, through our calculations, that the subsidies from the Moroccan government reduce the average investment cost of a modern date palm farm by 56%. It was also shown that the production cost of one ton of date fruits of cv. Majhoul in the extension zone “Meski Boudnib” (Morocco) is estimated at about 6060 MAD (US$ 634.5), out of which 28% represents the labor cost and 23% represents mineral and organic fertilization costs. The findings of the present study revealed that the production cost of one ton of cv. Majhoul dates in “Meski Boudnib” is lower than those reported in the Coachella Valley (20,189 MAD/ton;US$ 2114) and the Jordan Valley (10,536 MAD/ton;US$ 1103).

目的模拟训练(simulation-based training,SBT)是一种有效的教育方法,广泛应用于包括肿瘤学在内的多种临床环境中。该文对肿瘤学中与SBT相关的研究进行了范围综述,全面了解SBT在提高医护人员技能方面的作用,从而提高护理质量和患者安全。方法根据Arksey和O’Malley提出的范围综述方法框架,在Medline、Scopus和Web of Science数据库中检索于2012年至2022年发表的,与SBT在提高肿瘤科医护人员技能方面的相关研究文献,仅纳入经过同行评审的英文或法语文献。由2名研究员独立进行文献的筛选、提取和分析。结果检索出1013篇文章,共纳入29篇文献。其中25篇文献侧重于非技术技能,如决策技能、沟通和团队合作技能以及认知能力;13篇文献侧重于技术技能。纳入文献研究结果表明,通过SBT项目,肿瘤科医护人员的技能得到了显著提高。其中14篇文献对SBT的应用进行了主观评估,9篇文献对其进行了客观评估,6篇文献采用了主观和客观相结合的评估方法。结论SBT是提高肿瘤科医护人员技能的有效方法,支持和推广SBT对提供高质量的医疗服务和确保患者安全至关重要。

Infliximab Therapy in Iraqi Patients with Moderate to Severe Psoriasis

Background: Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) is a proinflammatory cytokine which plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. Infliximab is an anti-TNF-α drug widely used for the treatment of psoriasis. Objectives: To assess the efficacy and safety of infliximab in Iraqi patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis. Patients and Methods: In this therapeutic, single-center study, a total of 23 patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis resistant to conventional treatments were enrolled to receive infusions of infliximab 5 mg/kg at weeks 0, 2, and 6, then every 8 weeks for at least 22 weeks. Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI), Body Surface Area (BSA) and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) were calculated at each visit to assess the response to treatment and all side effects were recorded. Results: PASI score was reduced from a mean ± SD of 17.41 ± 8.53 before treatment to 2.44 ± 2.68 after 22 weeks. At week 22, 84% of patients achieved PASI 75, 42% achieved PASI 90 and 28% achieved complete clearance. BSA and DLQI score were reduced from a mean ± SD of 35.69 ± 22.44 and 20.04 ± 4.68 before treatment to 3.52 ± 4.94 and 3.87 ± 5.60 after 22 weeks, respectively. Pruritus, boils, infusion reactions were recorded and relapse during treatment was found in 3 patients. Conclusion: Infliximab monotherapy is highly effective in the treatment of moderate-to-severe psoriasis, with rapid onset of action and relatively low side effects.

Does Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) Increase the Risk of Post-Operative Respiratory Complications after Bariatric Surgery?

Background: OSA affects up to quarter of general population. It is associated with morbid obesity with a higher morbidity and mortality rates. STOP Bang questionnaire is a validated method for OSA screening. OSA patients are at high risk of developing airway obstruction, cardiac events, congestive heart failure, stroke and desaturation post operatively. The aim of this study is to evaluate adverse respiratory events in patients undergoing bariatric surgery in relation to risk of OSA using Stop Bang questionnaire. Methods: This prospective double cohort study was conducted in Tanta University Hospital from Marchto August 2017. During the preoperative assessment, STOP-BANG questionnaire was performed. After extubation, patients were transferred to PACU unit. Respiratory complications were assessed thereafter. Based on STOP-BANG score, patients were divided into two groups, high risk of OSA with STOP-BANG > 3 (Group I) and low risk of OSA with STOP-BANG Results: 104 patients were included in this study. Group I had more comorbidities in the form of CAD (15% versus 2%, P 0.001). Higher number of respiratory complications was noted in high-risk group (31 patients, 59%) compared to (24 patients, 46%) in group II yet, it was not significant. Conclusion: Obese patients with STOP-BANG score > 3 undergoing bariatric surgery are associated with hypertension, dyslipidemia, CAD, and renal insufficiency. High-risk OSA obese patients are at higher risk of developing respiratory compilations like inability to breathe deeply and hypoxia in postoperatively.
