The COVId.19 pan.emic posed.a serious threat to life on.the en.ire plan.t, n.cessitatin. the imposition.of a lockd.wn.mechan.sm that restricted.people’s movemen.s to stop the d.sease’s spread. This period.experien.ed.a d.clin. in.air pollution.emission. an. some en.iron.en.al chan.es, offerin. a rare opportun.ty to un.erstan. the effects of fewer human.activities on.the earth’s temperature. Hen.e, this stud. compares the chan.es in.Lan. Surface Temperature (LST) that were observed.prior to the pan.emic (March & April 2019) an. d.rin. the pan.emic lockd.wn.(March & April 2020) of three parishes in.Louisian.. The d.ta for this stud. was acquired.usin. Lan.sat 8 Thermal In.rared.Sen.or (TIRS) Level 2, Collection.2, Tier 2 from the Google Earth En.in. Catalog. For better visualization. the images that were d.rived.had.a cloud.cover of less than.10%. Also, images for the three stud. areas were processed.an. categorized.in.o four main.classes: water, vegetation. built-up areas, an. bare lan.s usin. a Ran.om Forest Supervised.Classification.Algorithm. To improve the accuracy of the image classification., three n.rmalized.d.fferen.e In.ices n.mely the n.rmalized.d.fferen.e Vegetation.In.ex (n.VI), n.rmalized.d.fferen.e Water In.ex (n.WI) an. n.rmalized.d.fferen.e Built-Up In.ex (n.BI) were employed.usin. the n.ar In.rared.(n.R), Red. Green.an. SWIR ban.s for the calculation.. After, these images were processed.in.Google Earth En.in. to gen.rate the LST prod.cts grid.ed.at 30 m with a higher spatial resolution.of 100 m accord.n. to the pre-pan.emic (2019) an. lockd.wn.(2020) period. for the three stud. areas. Results of this stud. showed.a d.crease in.LST values of the lan. cover classes from 2019 to 2020, with LST values in.East Baton.Parish d.creasin. from 44°C to 38°C, 42°C to 38°C in.Lafayette Parish, an. 43°C to 38°C in.Orlean. The use of ren.wable en.rgy is stead.ly bein. ad.pted.as a mitigative measure for red.cin. green.ouse gas emission.. By assessin. biomass prod.ction.an. con.umption.estimates from Louisian. parishes, this stud. examin.s the utilization.of agricultural biomass as a con.en.en. ren.wable en.rgy source, an. the poten.ial of margin.l lan.s for growin. bioen.rgy crops in.Louisian.. This was achieved.by retrievin. parish-level acreage prod.ction.of some biofuel crops record.d.in.2021 usin. the Quick Stats d.tabase, to map out the spatial location. an. d.stribution.of the biofuel crops. To examin. the poten.ial of Louisian.’s margin.l lan.s in.bioen.rgy crop prod.ction. d.ta was obtain.d.from the Soil Survey Geographic (SSURGO) d.tabase an. mapped.out accord.n. to the eight Lan. Capability Classes n.mbered.I-VIII. The results of the mapped.out acreage d.ta revealed.that 25% of the 64 parishes in.lud.n. Morehouse record.d.high corn.prod.ction.estimates, while 43%, such as East Carroll, record.d.high soybean.prod.ction. Mean.hile, cotton.prod.ction.estimates were relatively low, as record.d.in.on.y 9 parishes, with on. parish, Ten.as, havin. the highest acreage prod.ction.of aroun. 23,000. Although the id.n.ified.margin.l lan.s in.parishes such as Allen.an. Vern.n.had.n. record. of corn. soybean. or cotton.prod.ction. the soil survey d.tabase revealed.that these margin.l lan.s have high n.trien. soils like Alfisols, En.isols an. In.eptisols with optimal n.trien. balan.e essen.ial for high yield.bioen.rgy crop prod.ction. Hen.e, this paper highlights Louisian.’s agricultural biomass to be leveraged.as sustain.ble ren.wable sources while ad.erin. to clear prod.ction.guid.lin.s, biofuel sustain.bility certification. an. in.ern.tion.lly agreed.sustain.bility criteria.

There has been.sign.fican. research in.recen. d.cad.s on.Lan. use Lan. cover (LULC) chan.es an. their in.luen.e on.biod.versity but little to n. research on.its impact on.air quality. This research seeks to d.mon.trate how geospatial techn.logies such as geographic in.ormation.system (GIS) an. remote sen.in. can.be used.to assess the effects of LULC chan.es on.particulate matter emission. an. their impact on.air quality in.the East Baton.Rouge area. In.pursuit of these objectives, this stud. uses LAn.SAT imageries from the past 30 years specifically Lan.sat Thematic Mapper (TM C2L2) an. Lan.sat 8 Operation.l Lan. Imager/Thermal In.rared.(OLI/TIRS C2L2) coverin. 1991, 2001, 2011 an. 2021 were collected. processed. an. an.lyzed.for the LULC chan.e an.lysis usin. QGIS software. Ad.ition.lly, Sen.in.l 5P an. the Air quality in.ex from the U.S. En.iron.en.al Protection.Agen.y (EPA) were used.to assess the air quality tren. over the years to establish the correlation.between.LULC an. air quality. Backgroun.We aimed.to evaluate whether large prostate size, small lesion.volume, or lon. lesion.d.stan.e from the ultrasoun. probe tip would.d.crease can.er d.tection.in.tran.rectal magn.tic reson.n.e imagin. (MRI)-targeted.*** an. method.Patien.s who un.erwen. MRI-targeted.biopsy at our in.titution.between.May 2017 an. August 2019 were en.olled.in.a prospective d.tabase. Three to 5 cores were obtain.d.from >= 2 prostate imagin. reportin. an. d.ta system v2 lesion.. A multivariable mod.l was created.that in.lud.d.n.ed.e d.stan.e to the lesion. prostate specific an.igen. prostate imagin. reportin. an. d.ta system, lesion.volume, an. prostate *** total of 377 patien.s with 533 lesion. un.erwen. a biopsy d.rin. the stud. period. A total of 233 (44%) lesion. were positive for prostate can.er, an. 173 (32%) lesion. had.clin.cally sign.fican. prostate can.er. The mean.n.ed.e d.stan.e to the lesion.was 11.7 mm (in.erquartile ran.e, 7.6-15.5 mm). The likelihood.of obtain.n. a positive core on.biopsy d.creased.as the d.stan.e from the ultrasoun. probe in.reased.for all prostate can.ers an. clin.cally sign.fican. prostate can.er (p = 0.018 an. p = 0.004, respectively). Every 10 mm from the rectum, there was an.8%-10% d.crease in.the rate of can.er d.tection. This stud. evaluated.the crustal d.formation.an. associated.stron. motion. in.uced.by the Paktika earthquake. Crustal d.formation. were d.termin.d.usin. the d.fferen.ial In.erferometric Syn.hetic Aperture Rad.r (d.n.AR) techn.que an. three-d.men.ion.l fin.te elemen. method.(3d.FEM) an. the results were compared. The perman.n. groun. d.splacemen.s obtain.d.from the d.n.AR an. 3d.FEM an.lyses were similar in.terms of amplitud. an. areal d.stribution. Stron. motion. were estimated.usin. the 3d.FEM with an. without con.id.rin. region.l topography. The estimation. of maximum groun. acceleration. velocity, an. perman.n. groun. d.formation. were compared.amon. each other as well as with those in.erred.from failures of some simple structures in.the Spera an. Gayan.d.stricts.
