Millions of dollars are being spent.on gully rehabilit.t.on t. help reduce excess fine sediment.delivery t. t.e Great.Barrier Reef(GBR).t.ere is an urgent.need for(i)priorit.sat.on of act.ve gullies for rehabilit.t.on and(ii)t.e development.of met.odologies t. inform t.e effect.veness of *** t.is st.dy we analyse DEMs of Difference derived from 0.5 m resolut.on 2-3 year int.rval mult.-t.mporal LiDAR dat. collect.d pre and post.rehabilit.t.on at.t.ree variable gully morphologies in t.e Burdekin *** analysis indicat.s t.at.t.e highest.annual average fine sediment.erosion rat.s for t.e unt.eat.d cont.ol gullies occur at.t.e linear gully(53.38 t.ha^(-1)y^(-1))followed by linear-alluvial gully(34.24 t.ha^(-1)y^(-1))and least.at.t.e alluvial gully(14.41 t.ha^(-1)y^(-1)).t.e proport.onal loss or export.of fine sediment.from t.e gullies in t.eir un-t.eat.d condit.on ranges from∼68 t. 90%of what.is eroded,and when t.e gullies are t.eat.d t.e proport.on of fine sediment.t.at.is ret.ined in t.e gully proport.onal t. what.is eroded increases t.∼60%at.all *** pre-t.eat.ent.baseline erosion rat.s,and addit.onal post.t.eat.ent.LiDAR capt.res,it.is difficult.t. quant.fy t.e t.eat.ent.*** result. offer insight. in t.e erosion mechanisms wit.in different.geomorphic gully morphologies and rehabilit.t.on effect. in t.ese erosional *** st.dy provides crucial knowledge of gully dynamics t.at.can be coupled wit. ot.er lines of evidence for bet.er priorit.sat.on of rehabilit.t.on in t.e GBR cat.hment..

In Africa, t.e prevalence of diabet.s is escalat.ng and remains a concern due t. t.e numerous complicat.ons it.causes. Vascular damage associat.d wit. diabet.s leads t. a prot.rombot.c st.t. observed in diabet.c individuals. Diabet.s is a complex and mult.fact.rial disease involving genet.c component.. Wit. t.e aim of prevent.ng complicat.ons and cont.ibut.ng t. an efficient.management.of diabet.s, we invest.gat.d genes likely t. lead t. a risk of t.rombosis, in part.cular t.e C677t.of Mt.FR, G20210A of prot.rombin, and R506Q of fact.r V Leiden in t.pe 2 diabet.cs in Abidjan receiving ambulat.ry care. A descript.ve cross-sect.onal st.dy was carried out.on consent.ng t.pe 2 diabet.c pat.ent.. Mut.t.on det.ct.on was carried out.using t.e PCR-RFLP met.od employing rest.ict.on enzymes. Hemost.sis t.st. (fibrinogen, D-dimers, fibrin monomers, and von Willebrand fact.r) were performed using cit.at. t.bes on t.e St.ge? St.r Max aut.mat.d syst.m. Plasminogen act.vat.r inhibit.r was assayed by ELISA met.od, and biochemical paramet.rs were det.rmined using t.e COBAS C311. t.e st.dy populat.on consist.d of 45 diabet.c pat.ent., 51.1% of whom present.d vascular complicat.ons, mainly neuropat.y. Dist.rbances in hemost.sis paramet.rs were observed, wit. 15.5% of pat.ent. showing an increase in fibrin monomers. Mut.t.on analysis revealed an absence of fact.r V mut.t.on (fact.r V Leiden) and of G20210A mut.t.on of t.e prot.rombin gene. However, 15.6% of subject. had a het.rozygous C677t.mut.t.on of Mt.FR, wit. 57% of t.em being anemic. t.e explorat.on of biological and genet.c fact.rs associat.d wit. t.rombot.c risk is of significant.int.rest.in t.e opt.mal management.of African t.pe 2 diabet.cs.
