AIM: To assess the usefulness of the balloon assisted enteroscopy in preventing surgical intervention in pa-tients with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) having a small bowel large polyps. METHODS: Seven consecutive asymptomatic pts(age 15-38 years) with PJS have been collected; six under-went polypectomy using single balloon enteroscopy(Olympus SIf Q180) with antegrade approach using push and pull technique. SBE system consists of the SIf-Q180 enteroscope, an overtube balloon control unit(OBCU Olympus Balloon Control Unit) and a dispos-able silicone splinting tube with balloon(ST-SB1). All procedures were performed under general anesthesia. Previously all pts received wireless capsule endos-copy(WCE). Prophylactic polypectomy was reservedmainly in pts who had polyps > 15 mm in diameter. The balloon is inflated and deflated by a balloon control unit with a safety pressure setting range from-6.0 kPa to +5.4 kPa. Informed consent has been obtained from pts or parents for each procedure.RESULTS: Six pts underwent polypectomy of small bowel polyps; in 5 pts a large polyp > 15 mm(range 20-50 mm in diameter) was resected; in 1 patient with WCE negative, SBE was performed for previous surgi-cal resection of gastrointestinal stromal tumors. In 2 pts endoscopic clips were placed due to a polypectomy. No surgical complication have been reported. SBE with resection of small bowel large polyps in PJS pts was useful to avoid gastrointestinal bleeding and emergency laparotomy due to intestinal intussuscep-tions. No gastrointestinal tumors were found in sub-sequent enteroscopic surveillance in all seven pts. In order surveillance, all pts received WCE, upper en-doscopy, ileocolonoscopy every 2 years. No pts had extraintestinal malignant lesions. SBE was performed when WCE was positive for significant polyps(> 15 mm).CONCLUSION: The effective of prophylactic polyp-ectomy of small bowel large polyps(> 15 mm) could be the first line treatment for conservative approach in management of PJS patients.

随机临床研究表明,降压治疗可降低心力衰竭发生风险。但有关此益处在现实生活中是否体现及其程度如何的证据有限。该巢式病例对照研究纳入2005年间Lombardy地区（意大利）40～80岁新采用降压药物治疗的76 017例患者。从开始药物治疗到2012年，因心力衰竭人院治疗患者622例。每例患者随机选择最多5例对照。采用Logistic回归分析建立降压药物依从性相关心力衰竭风险模型，依从性采用药物治疗天数所占比例（proportion of days covered by treatment,PDC）来评估。

Risk factors and strategies for prevention of depression, anxiety and eating disorders among adolescents during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic: a review

The purpose of this review is to identify prevalent trends and risk factors in depression,anxiety,and eating disorders in the adolescent population in the post coronavirus disease 2019(COvID-19)scenario.We examined the literature published on adolescent mental health since the COVID-19 pandemic.We chose to summarize studies published from 2019 to 2022,using bibliographic search tools.We developed criteria for selecting articles for our review using diagnostic indicators and keywords.Mental health conditions such as depression,anxiety and eating disorders are commonly prevalent in this population and have shown increasing rates in the past three years.Some risk factors associated with these diagnoses include reduction in social interaction,increased workloads,routine shifts,sleep quality,social media usage and parental involvement.Routines,sleep cycles,physical activity,and social media should all be considered as a part of prevention in this population.Approaches that seem to be successful include maintaining social ties and avoiding negative social media usage with harmful content.Increased global public awareness,as well as parental awareness,through media campaigns,is critical to slowing the spread of mental health challenges in adolescents and teenagers in the post-COvID-19 era.

New insights for the catalytic oxidation of cyclohexane to K-A oil

Au-based catalysts have been reported to be active in the cyclohexane oxidation to K-A oil, but they showed some limitiations in terms of productivity, selectivity and required reaction conditions. The possibility to overcome some of these limits has been explored coupling Au with Cu, which can be suitable for undergoing the electron-switch in the initial step of the cyclohexane oxidation. Hence, a bimetallic 2 wt% Au Cu/Al_(2)O_(3) catalyst was tested in the oxidation of cyclohexane, working at mild conditions of 120 ℃ and 4 bar of O_(2). The combination of the catalyst with a very small amount of benzaldehyde used as cheaper and non-toxic radical initiator allowed to obtain a very high productivity of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone(45 mmol*m L/mgmet*h) with a selectivity of 94%. Moreover, comparing the catalysed reaction with the non-catalysed one, the role of the catalyst has been disclosed.

functional Design for Customizing Sit-To-Stand Assisting Devices

Standing up refers to the transition from the seating to the standing postures to perform a movement that involves several body segments and requires both voluntary action and equilibrium control during an important displacement of the body Centre of Gravity （COG）. This task can be considered very important for people with reduced mobility to achieve minimal independence in Activity of Daily Living （ADL）. In this paper, we propose solutions for the homecare of persons with reduced mobility, describing a functional design to customize assisting devices for the Sit-to-Stand （STS）. In particular, the support mechanism that generates the requested motion and sustains the body of a person can be synthesized ad-hoc according to the experimental data of the subject. Experimental tests carried out during the Sit-To-Stand are used to track and record point trajectories and the orientation of the trunk of an individual, and they are used to design a 1-DOf mechanism able to reproduce the assigned rigid-body motion. A four-bar linkage has been synthesized according to the desired features. Simulation results are reported to illustrate the engineering soundness of the proposed mechatronic solution.

The role of sequestosome 1/p62 protein in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal dementia pathogenesis

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal lobar degeneration are multifaceted diseases with genotypic,pathological and clinical overlap.One such overlap is the presence of SQSTM1/p62 mutations.While traditionally mutations manifesting in the ubiquitin-associated domain of p62 were associated with Paget’s disease of bone,mutations affecting all functional domains of p62 have now been identified in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal lobar degeneration patients.p62 is a multifunctional protein that facilitates protein degradation through autophagy and the ubiquitin-proteasome system,and also regulates cell survival via the Nrf2 antioxidant response pathway,the nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway and apoptosis.Dysfunction in these signaling and protein degradation pathways have been observed in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal lobar degeneration,and mutations that affect the role of p62 in these pathways may contribute to disease pathogenesis.In this review we discuss the role of p62 in these pathways,the effects of p62 mutations and the effect of mutations in the p62 modulator TANK-binding kinase 1,in relation to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis-frontotemporal lobar degeneration pathogenesis.
