Background:Venous ulcer represents the most advanced stage of chronic venous *** is an important public health problem and has a significant impact on patients’quality of life due to chronic pain,inability to work,need for hospitalization and frequent outpatient ***:We investigated the treatment benefits of far-infrared ceramic(cFIR),in a 90-day study of lower limb venous ulcers and looked at ulcer healing scores,quality of life,serum bio-markers of oxidative stress and antioxidant defense ***,setting,participants and interventions:This is a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study conducted in the Vascular Surgery Service of a hospital located in the northwest region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul,*** included patients with lower limb venous ulcers who were randomized to use either a bioceramics wrap or a placebo wrap for 90 *** outcome measures:The following evaluations were conducted at baseline and after 15,30,60 and90 days:ulcer healing score,quality of life,and serum markers of oxidative stress and antioxidant enzyme ***:Patients(n=24)with lower limb venous ulcers were randomized into two treatment *** decreased the ulcer size on day 30(P=0.042)and 90(P=0.034)and the total ulcer healing scale scores on day 30(P=0.049)and 90(P=0.02)of the treatment,when compared to ***,cFIR improved tissue type(epithelial tissue)on day 60(P=0.022)when compared to baseline ***:cFIR clinically improved ulcer healing in patients with lower limb venous *** registration:RBR-8c7xzn on reBeC.

Dry eye is a common clinical condition diagnosed by cumulative evidence of symptoms and *** new treatments in dry eye are either expensive,invasive,have potential for side effects,or are not easily *** severe dry eye,the ideal modality of treatment to begin with is often not clear as specific molecular disturbances are not evident from just examination of clinical *** the effects of ongoing treatment is not straight forward since there is lack of agreement between clinical signs and *** is a need to have more objective methods of selecting treatment for dry eye and monitoring the effect of ***,there are many new technologies applied to the discovery of tear biomarkers,for e.g.,mass spectrometry based proteomics techniques and multiplex assays such as the bead-based sandwich indirect immunofluorescent *** proteins assays have even been made available as point-of-care *** review focuses on the evidence for the involvements of tear proteins in dry eye,possible changes in tear conce.trations with therapy and the strength of evidence regarding dry eye *** remains to be done in terms of developing office-based assays and ascertaining their reliability,but current evidence suggests that tear proteins have a role in the clinical practice of dry eye.

直接乙醇燃料电池作为便携式移动电源受到越来越多的关注,如乙醇能量密度高、可再生、无毒、清洁、便于储存和运输等优点。然而,乙醇燃料电池的研究也面临一些严重问题,其中C−C键断裂是最为挑战的问题之一。近年来有报道表明,乙醇的完全氧化(包含C−C键断裂过程)并没有显示出燃料电池效率的增加,相反乙醇不完全氧化的催化剂会导致更明显的催化电流增加。同时金属Bi掺杂会对催化剂产生电子效应和几何效应并有效增加碱性体系中催化剂的活性位中心和抗Co中毒能力。因此,本工作将铋掺杂在铂和钯中制备出PtBi/C和PdBi/C作为乙醇燃料电池催化剂,同时研究Bi掺杂催化剂对乙醇燃料电池性能以及乙醇的不完全氧化产物醋酸盐的影响,为乙醇燃料电池电-化学品联产提供一定的依据。以硼氢化钠为还原剂,Vulcan XC-72(Cabot)导电炭为载体制备了Pt/C、Pd/C、PtBi/C和PdBi/C(20%质量比)炭载催化剂,其中PtBi和PdBi原子比均为95∶5。首先将金属前驱体溶于H_(2)o/异丙醇溶液(50/50,体积比)中,加入Vulcan XC-72导电炭黑充分混合,然后加入硼氢化钠在常温常压下充分反应,过滤洗涤干燥备用。其次,对所制备的催化剂进行TeM、XRD、XPS、电化学以及光谱电化学进行表征和测试。电化学、光谱电化学在三电极电解池中进行,将所制备的催化剂分散在超薄多孔电极上制备成工作电极,对电极为Pt片电极,参比电极为Ag/AgCl电极。电解液为碱性1 mol/L KoH的乙醇溶液,在电化学工作站上进行CV、LSV扫描以及在不同电位下测试溶液的ATR-FTIR谱。最后,燃料电池测试在一个面积为5 cm2的单电池上进行,阳极为2 mol/L乙醇+3 mol/L KoH溶液,流量为2 mL/min,阴极通入氧气,并研究催化剂的构成及性能对电池性能的影响。采用硼氢化钠还原法合成Pt/C、PtBi(95∶5)/C、Pd/C和PdBi(95∶5)/C。Pd/C和PdBi/C的晶体结构呈现FCC特征,Pt/C和PtBi/C的晶体结构也呈现FCC特征。XRD也揭示了铋原子对Pt晶体结构的影响。在1 mol/L KoH溶液中,异位XPS和循环伏安法显示这些金属具有较高的氧化态。透射电镜显示Pd/C有一定的纳米粒子聚集,PdBi/C有一定的有序结构。红外光谱(ATR-FTIR)结果表明,Bi效应由于吸附能力较弱,抑制了碳酸盐的生成,增加了醋酸盐的生成。由于醋酸盐优先生成,且不被碳酸盐离子毒害,PtBi/C具有最佳的电化学和DeFC性能。通过在Pt和Pd掺杂金属Bi制备具有电子调控的双金属炭载PtBi(95∶5)/C和PdBi(95∶5)/C催化剂,以增强乙醇氧化反应催化氧化过程。透射电镜(TeM)和X射线光电子能谱(XPS)结果表明,Bi含量不影响PdBi纳米颗粒的尺寸,但会影响PtBi纳米颗粒的尺寸。X射线衍射分析表明,Bi掺杂改变了Pt晶体结构中的晶格参数。此外,ATR-FTIR结果表明,碳酸盐的形成受到抑制,乙酸盐产量增加。极化曲线和功率密度曲线结果表明,PtBi/C催化剂具有更高的功率密度,几乎是Pt/C的6倍。在线性扫描伏安实验中,PtBi/C具有最高的电流密度(44 mW/cm2)和最低的起始电位(−0.6 V)。在电流-时间实验中,它也具有最高的最终电流密度。因此,在Pt和Pd中掺杂铋催化剂被证明是一种很有前途的燃料电池发电和醋酸盐的联产方法。

Part of the difficulty in engineering education is to achieve aggregate theoretical knowledge to practice what therefore discourages the student. Trying to alleviate this difficulty, practical problems are created to encourage students to apply their knowledge in different ways; these problems can be computational order, resolved by programs through simulation, or physical, with the realization of models, prototypes, benches or interactive platforms with visual practical approach. From this, it was proposed to students of the Federal University of Pardi--Campus Tucurui through the electric Power Systems and Mechanics research Group, in order to apply knowledge arising from multidisciplinary fields of engineering in the construction of a prototype with reused materials and low cost enabling studies and analysis of vibrations in unbalanced motors. This system features an open source prototyping embedded platform Arduino to read values from the sensors used： accelerometers and potentiometers coupled to the engine, aiming to collect values and vary the supply voltage. The results are read by Arduino and computationally processed to be printed on an LCD display. Therefore, the aim of this is to provide an accessible way using simple techniques a prototype linking the theoretical and practical knowledge as the system of the bench that performs vibration analysis in an unbalanced motor interactively, and encourage research and development technologies in the Amazon region.

The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different water deficiency and rehydration levels on the conce.trations of osmoregulators in two plant species（Hymenaea courbaril and H. Stigonocarpa） in the Amazon. We adopted a 2×5×5 factorial system,referring to 2 species（H. courbaril and H. stigonocarpa）and 5 stages of hydration and rehydration. The five hydration and rehydration stages were established in:（1）Control treatment e0;（2） Plants with 13 days of stress after incubation—e13;（3） Plants with 26 days of stress e26;（4）The plants that were established after 26 days after incubation and rehydrated for two days（RD2）;（5） rehydrated for two days（RD4）. The plants that were established after 26 days after incubation and rehydrated for four days. The experiment totaled fifty young plants with five *** measurements were performed at the beginning of the experiment（e0） at 13（e13） and 26（e26） days after the water stress, in which the plants were rehydrated,repeating the analyses after two（RD2） and four（RD4）days. Both species increased the sucrose conce.tration by18%, with a decrease of 52% in starch content. The RD4 time presented the highest mean starch conce.tration(0.19 mmol g-1 of the residue for H. courbaril and0.27 mmol g;of residue for H. stigonocarpa). Increased proline conce.trations were recorded for controls until RD2 for both species. For glycine betaine, the highest increases in treatments e26 and RD2 were observed for the H. courbaril species. our rehydration period was not sufficient for total recovery of pre-stress conce.trations of all studied solutes.

CSCs （Cancer stem cells） have been involved in tumor resistance, metastasis and recurrence. In breast cancer, tumor cells are characterized by CD44＋, CD24-/low and ALDH 1 expression represents a subpopulation of BCSC （breast cancer stem cell）. Several three-dimensional （3D） in vitro culturing cancer cells have been used to stimulate BCSC phenotype. The present study aimed to evaluate 3D cell culture in alginate matrix and the CD44, CD24 and ALDH1 mRNA levels of BCSC markers. The 3D culture was performed using Mda-MB-231 breast cancer cell line on alginate matrix 1.2% in RPMI medium. expression of BCSC markers was evaluated by real Time PCR （Polymerase Chain reaction） comparing 3D to 2D culture. The 3D cultures increase of CD44 and CD24 mRNA levels and induce ALDH1 expression comparing to 2D culture. The data suggest that 3D alginate matrix alters the mRNA levels of genes involved in the phenotypic characteristics of BCSC.

Isabel grape(IG)products have high contents of phenolic compounds and fiber recognized for their positive impacts on microorganisms associated with health benefits to *** study evaluated the effects of goat yogurts formulated with ingredients from IG integral valorization on the growth and metabolism of different probiotic strains,as well as on the population of selected bacterial groups and metabolic activity of human colonic microbiota in *** yogurts with IG ingredients(IGI)stimulated the growth of tested Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium probiotic strains during a 48-h cultivation,as well as decreased the pH values and enhanced the organic acid *** yogurts with IGI increased the population of Lactobacillus *** Bifidobacterium *** a 24-h in vitro colonic fermentation.A stable Firmicutes:Bacteroidetes ratio close to 1 was found in media with goat yogurt formulations during the colonic fermentation,being similar to the effect caused by *** yogurt formulations with IGI caused increased production of short-chain fatty acids and sugar consumption during colonic *** yogurts with IGI should be a valuable strategy for development of novel added-value foods with beneficial effects on gut microbiota and human health.

The geometry and evolution of pre-existing basement in accretionary belts bordering supercontinents are often *** interpretation of long-wavelength potential field satellite data can image deep crust structure,improving our understanding of lithospheric processes that formed these margins ***,we present a multidisciplinary interpretation of the lithospheric architecture of the central southern Amazon Craton,a fragment of an accretionary belt at the southwestern Columbia supercontinent ***-borne gravity and magnetic data,airborne magnetic data,passive seismic(V_(p)/V_(s) ratio,crustal thickness)and seismic tomography data reveals that basement terranes from the interior of the craton extend into the accretionary margin of *** demonstrate a vertically heterogeneous structure with an underlying strongly reworked pre-Columbia tectonic wedge that sustained prolonged modification during the supercontinent assembly as corroborated by Nd isotope and geochronology *** isotope data suggest that the protracted orogenic wedge was influenced by subduction angle shifts over time,including addition of substantial juvenile material during slab retreat *** interplay promoted Craton growth at the supercontinent margin while keeping a subtle record of the pre-existing *** findings point to the possible misrepresentation of basement extension and geometry of supercontinent margins elsewhere.

To establish the chemical profile, and to evaluate the antibacterial and modulatory activity of the ethanolic extracts of the stalk’s inner bark and heartwood of Secondatia *** of total phenols and flavonoids was determined by the Folin-Ciocalteu method and aluminum chloride, respectively. Phenolic compounds were identified and quantified by HPLC-daD (High Performance Liquid Chromatography-Diodearray Detector) and the Infrared Spectroscopy was performed using the measure by Attenuated Total reflectance with Fourier Transform (ATR-FTIR). Antibacterial assays for determination of the Minimum Inhibitory conce.tration (MIC) and modification of aminoglycosides were performed by *** spectra showed similar characteristics, having among its main absorption bands hydroxyl group (oH). The antibacterial activity showed clinically significant results for the strains of Staphylococcus aureus and escherichia coli. In modulation assay, synergic and antagonistic effect for both extracts was observed. Heartwood extract in combination with antibiotics showed a significant MIC reduction at 19.8% (P onclusionsThis study is the first report of chemical and biological information of Secondatia floribunda suggesting that it is clinically re.e.ant source of a new antibacterial therapy, especially due to the presence of significant levels of phenolic compounds.
