Objective:To evaluate the use of Gallium-68 prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography(^(68)Ga-PSMA PET/CT),compared with conventional CT abdomen/pelvis(CTAP)and whole body single photon emission CT bone scan(BS),for detection of local or distant metastasis following biochemical failure/recurrence in post-prostatectomy ***:We conducted a review of our prospectively maintained,institutional database to identify 384 patients with post-prostatectomy biochemical failure/recurrence who underwent PSMA PET/CT,CTAP and BS from February 2015 to August 2017 in Nepean Hospital,tertiary referral *** results of the three imaging modalities were analysed for their ability to detect local recurrence and distant *** PET/CT and CTAP imaging were separately performed on the same day and the BS was performed within several days(mostly in 24 h).Difference in detection rates was determined between the modalities and the chi square test was used to determine ***:A total of 384 patients were identified with a median prostate-specific antigen(PSA)of 0.465 ng/mL(interquartile range =0.19-2.00 ng/mL).Overall,PSMA PET/CT was positive for 245(63.8%)patients whereas CTAP and BS were positive in 174 patients(45.3%).A total of 98 patients(25.5%)had local or distant metastasis detected on PSMA only,while 20 patients(5.2%)had recurrences detected on CTAP but not on PSMA PET/***:The use of PSMA PET/CT has a higher detection rate of predicted local or distant metastasis compared to CTAP and BS in the staging of patients with biochemical recurrences after radical prostatectomy.

＜正＞Corus UK has developed technology to reduce the formation and emission of dioxins from iron ore sintering. Extensive measurements have shown that emissions from the main waste gas stacks of the five UK sinter plants were in the concentration range 0.28 to 4.4 ng I-TEQ/Nm3 from 94 measurements. The overall mean was 1.19 ng I-TEQ/Nm3 which is slightly above the achievable release limit of 1 ng I-TEQ/Nm3 specified by the UK environment Agency for new plant. Fundamental studies concluded that dioxins are most likely formed within the sinter bed, ahead of the flame-front. Suppression trials have been successful when urea was added to the raw sinter mix prior to the strand, with at least 50% reduction in dioxin emissions. Urea addition appears to offer cost-effective dioxin suppression and trials are continuing to confirm the long-term viability of the technique.

This work presents the physical and thermal characterization of the dura palm kernel powder of Cameroon for their use as fillers for polymers composites. The powders of palm kernel were obtained using a percussion grinder mill with an industrial microniser which allowed obtaining a powder less than 50 μm with an apparent density between 0,505 ≤ ρ ≤ 0,680 g/cm3 at 1.56 of relative humidity. The infrared of the powder of palm kernel shows the presence of phenols groups with a large band around 3341 cm-1, -C-H at 2917.02 cm-1 and -C-O at 1040 cm-1 as the main peaks. The polyvinyl chloride of infrared obtained shows the presence of -C-Cl, -ch2 and ch as the mains peaks. The infrared of 12.5% of palm kernel powder with polyvinyl chloride shows an increase of the ch2 and ch bonds and a decrease of the -OH bonds. Thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetric analysis of powders, polyvinyl chloride and mixture showed that the mixing powders are intermediate between the polyvinyl chloride and palm kernel powder. The powder decreased the phase temperatures of the mixture from 98.58℃ to 95℃ for the glass transition temperature and from 515℃ to 459℃ for the crystallization temperature. The thermogravimetric curves of palm kernel powder and polyvinyl chloride have showed that these materials lose their different masses in three different phases, and the one of composite (mixture of polyvinyl chloride with 12.5% of palm kernel powder) in two different phases.

ng>Introduction:ng> Surgical management takes place, after a certain period of evolution, on particularly severe forms of secondary hyperparathyroidism, resistant to medical treatment. Subtotal parathyroidectomy is an effective technique in the treatment of these disorders. ng>Method:ng> Our study is retrospective of 33 cases of hyperparathyroidism secondary to chronic renal failure in dialysis patients operated by the 7/8 technique. Identified over a period of 10 years (January 2010 to December 2019), in the enT department of the Fann University Hospital. ng>Results:ng> Out of 33 cases of secondary hyperparathyroidism, the average age of our patients was 51.24 years with a sex ratio of 0.43. Causal nephropathy was dominated by nephro-angiosclerosis, which was found in 27.27% of cases. Bone pain found in 23 patients or 69.69% was the predominant clinical sign. The average calcemia was 92.7 mg/l. Parathormone was dosed in all our patients and the average was 1611.05 ng/l. The consequences were clinically marked by recurrent paresis in one patient. No case of hematoma or postoperative infection was found. On the biological level 10 patients or 30.30% had a transient hypocalcaemia. The results were marked by a drop in PTH in 23 patients or 78.78% of cases. ng>Conclusion:ng> Subtotal parathyroidectomy remains an effective and beneficial therapeutic method for kidney failure patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.
