Background:Extrahepatic portal vein obstruction(EHpVO)results in severe portal hypertension(pHT)leading to severely compromised quality of ***,pharmacological and endoscopic management is unable to solve this *** hepatic portal flow using meso-Rex bypass(MRB)may solve *** procedure,uncommon in adult patients,is considered the treatment of choice for EHpVO in ***:From 1997 to 2018,8 male and 6 female adults,with a median age of 51 years(range 22-66)underwent MRB procedure for EHpVO at the University Hospitals Saint-Luc in Brussels,***-toms of pHT were life altering in all but one patient and consisted of repetitive gastro-intestinal bleedings,sepsis due to portal biliopathy,and/or severe abdominal *** surgical technique consisted in interposition of a free venous graft or of a prosthetic graft between the superior mesenteric vein and the Rex recess of the left portal ***:Median operative time was 500 min(range 300-730).Median follow-up duration was 22 months(range 2-169).One patient died due to hemorrhagic shock following percutaneous transluminal interven-tion for early graft *** morbidity,defined as Clavien-Dindo score≥III,was 35.7%(5/14).Shunt patency at last follow-up was 64.3%(9/14):85.7%(6/7)of pure venous grafts and only 42.9%(3/7)of prosthetic *** relief was achieved in 85.7%(12/14)who became asymptomatic after ***:Adult EHpVO represents a difficult clinical condition that leads to severely compromised quality of life and possible life-threatening *** such patients,MRB represents the only and last resort to restore physiological portal vein *** successful in a majority of patients,this procedure is associated with major morbidity and mortality and should be done in tertiary centers expe-rienced with vascular liver surgery to get the best results.

This study examines the moderating effect of board mechanisms on the relationship between capital structure and firm performance for 35 non-financial firms listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange(ZSE)during the 2013-2020 *** listed after 2013 were excluded from the study to avoid using unbalanced data for *** majority of the data was collected from the ZSE database,whilst the other data were collected from individual annual financial reports of these *** study used OLS Ordinary Least squares to estimate and predict the results from this panel *** panel data regression methods were used for each regression model in the *** results from the panel data regression revealed evidence of the significant positive relationship between capital structure and firm *** results give credence to the assertion that firms on the ZSE follow the tradeoff *** also show that board mechanisms elements like board meetings and board composition have a positive moderating *** on the other hand,board size does not show any moderating effects due to insignificant *** on these results,board mechanisms can be seen as an influential tool that can be used by firms to alter the relationship between capital structure and firm performance.

Several approximation methods have been employed in the computation of stationary density functions of random ***,we proved the L1-norm,and bounded variation norm（BV-norm）convergence of a piecewise linear least-squares method for the computation of the invariant density for random maps with position-dependent ***,we gave the convergence rate of the least-squares method in the L1-norm and the BV-norm,***,we showed that the numerical results of a piecewise linear leastsquares method has a higher-order accuracy than the linear spline Markov method from the theoretical analysis.

Renminbi Derivatives: Recent Development and Issues

This study reviews the developments in markets. The onshore market has seen a the onshore and offshore renminbi derivatives rapid build-up in the market infrastructure and price discovery mechanism in the past year, with empirical evidence suggesting that its pricing is increasingly determined by financial fundamentals, such as the covered interest rate parity. However, the growth of the market has been restrained by restrictions on the participant base, limited variations in the RMB/US$ exchange rate, market participants＇ lack of technical capacity and experience, and inadequate supporting financial market infrastructure. The non-deliverable forward （NDF） market, concentrated in Hong Kong and Singapore, is more developed, but has the drawback that its pricing is not tied to financial fundamentals. The comparison between onshore and offshore markets suggests that two issues are of particular importance for future derivatives market development in China： the balance between regulation and development, and the relationship between onshore and offshore markets.

The majority of existing escrowable identity-based key agreement protocols only provide partial forward secrecy. Such protocols are, arguably, not suitable for many real-word applications, as the latter tends to require a stronger sense of forward secrecy--perfect forward secrecy. In this paper, we propose an efficient perfect forward-secure identity-based key agreement protocol in the escrow mode. We prove the security of our protocol in the random oracle model, assuming the intractability of the gap Bilinear Diffie-Hellman （gBDH） problem.

AIM： To investigate whether transfection of plasmid DNA encoding these cytokines enhances both humoral and cellular immune responses to hepatitis C virus （HCV） in a murine model. METHODS： We established a tumor model of HCV infection using syngenic mouse myeloma cells stably transfected with NS5. Co-vaccination of DNA encoding granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor （gM- CSF） and Flt-3 ligand together with a plasmid encoding for the HCV NS5 protein was carried out. Mice were sacrificed 14 d after the last immunization event with collection of spleen cells and serum to determine humoral and cellular immune responses. RESULTS： Co-vaccination of DNA encoding gM-CSF and Fit-3 ligand together with a plasmid encoding for the HCV NS5 protein induced increased antibody responses and CD4＋ T cell proliferation to this protein, Vaccination with DNA encoding gM-CSF and FIt-3L promoted protection against tumor formation and/or reduction in mice co- immunized with cytokine-encoding DNA constructs, This suggests this strategy is capable of generating cytotoxic T lymphocyte activity in vivo, Following inoculation with plasmid DNA encoding Flt-3L, no increase in spleen size or in dendritic cell （DC） and natural killer cell numbers was observed. This was in contrast to a dramatic increase of both cell types after administration of recombinant Flt3-L in vivo. This suggests that vaccination with plasmid DNA encoding cytokines that regulate DC generation and mobilization may not promote unwanted side effects, such as autoimmunity, splenic fibrosis or hematopoietic malignancies that may occur with administration of recombinant forms of these proteins. CONCLUSION： Our data support the view that plasmid DNA vaccination is a promising approach for HCV immunization, and may provide a general adjuvant vaccination strategy against malignancies and other pathogens.

Allometric models for estimating aboveground biomass in the tropical woodlands of ghana, West Africa

Background: Modelling aboveground biomass(AgB) in forest and woodland ecosystems is critical for accurate estimation of carbon stocks. However, scarcity of allometric models for predicting AgB remains an issue that has not been adequately addressed in Africa. In particular, locally developed models for estimating AgB in the tropical woodlands of ghana have received little attention. In the absence of locally developed allometric models, ghana will continue to use Tier 1 biomass data through the application of pantropic models. Without local allometric models it is not certain how ghana would achieve Tier 2 and 3 levels under the United Nations programme for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. The objective of this study is to develop a mixedspecies allometric model for use in estimating AgB for the tropical woodlands in ghana. Destructive sampling was carried out on 745 trees(as part of charcoal production) for the development of allometric equations. Diameter at breast height(dbh, i.e. 1.3 m above ground level), total tree height(H) and wood density(ρ) were used as predictors for the models. Seven models were compared and the best model selected based on model efficiency,bias(%) and corrected Akaike Information Criterion. The best model was validated by comparing its results with those of the pantropic model developed by Chave et al.(glob Chang Biol 20:3177–3190, 2014) using equivalence test and conventional paired ***: The results revealed that the best model for estimating AgB in the tropical woodlands is AgB =0.0580ρ((dbh)2 H)0.999. The equivalence test showed that this model and the pantropic model developed by Chave et al.(glob Chang Biol 20:3177–3190, 2014) were equivalent within ±10% of their mean predictions(p-values pper bounds at 5% significant level), while the paired t-test revealed that the mean(181.44 ± 18.25 kg) of the model predictions of the best model of this s
