Epoxy structural adhesives and composites have been in use for many years for the construction of aerospace vehicles. Henkel provides many epoxy products. Many other resin systems have been evaluated and several, such as imide, phenolic and cyanate ester, have also achieved significant use. Henkel’s newly developed “Epsilon” chemistry demonstrates unique features that benefit application in aerospace structure that use adhesives and composites.

Objectives Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a multifactorial disease. Environmental factors such as viral infection(s) have been proposed as pathaetiological factors. There are particular interests in studying lymphotropic viruses such as the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and cytomegalovirus (CMV). Although previous case reports and in vitro studies suggested that they may have a role, there is no direct evidence that onset of SLE or disease exacerbation is associated with active infection by these viruses. Using the very sensitive polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique, we tried to find out evidence of active replication of these viruses in patients with SLE. Methods Thirty-four patients with SLE were compared with matched normal controls. Eleven patients were newly diagnosed to have SLE and 18 of the 34 patients had active disease as determined by a SLE Disease Activity Index (SLEDAI) score of ≥10 at the time of study. Results Our results showed no evidence of active replication or reactivation of EBV in the leucocytes amongst the newly diagnosed SLE patients, established SLE patients, patients with SLEDAI ≥10, patients with SLEDAI <10, and control subjects. There was no evidence of CMV infection in any of the subjects studied. The IgG and IgA responses against EBV early antigen (EA) and viral capsid antigen (VCA) were also studied. The IgG and IgA responses against VCA of EBV were increased in patients with SLE when compared with controls. However, there were no differences in these responses among different subgroups of patients. The mechanism of these responses was not apparent but may represent non-specific hyperimmune responses in these patients. Presence of autoantibodies is a prominent feature of many connective tissue diseases and their detection is the subject of intensive study to understand the underlying pathogenesis of these disorders. Request for autoantibody tests has become one of the important investigations in the assessment of patients with connective tissue diseases. Detection of autoantibodies is of relevance to the management of patients with rheumatological problems. It might serve as a screening test for connective tissue disorders. It might have a role in the diagnosis, in predicting patterns of disease expression and prognosis and in assessing disease activity.

神经退行性病变是一种可导致神经细胞渐进性退变或死亡的不可治愈性疾病。该疾病可诱发功能性运动障碍以及精神问题,比如痴呆。在诸多种类的神经退行性病变中,阿尔茨海默病占据最大比例。瞬时受体电位M2型(TRPM2)离子通道是一个可通过钙离子的非选择性阳离子通道。研究表明,TRPM2离子通道有可能通过不同路径(包括炎症路径)参与阿尔茨海默病的病理过程。本综述主要通过对TRPM2与Aβ、氧化应激以及钙离子之间关系的讨论,总结概括了TRPM2在阿尔茨海默病病理学中的作用,也对近期TRPM2药理学领域的研究进展进行了探讨,并对如何进一步研究TRPM2在阿尔茨海默病中的作用进行了展望。

Objective：This study was to investigate the variables in bone marrow harvesting procedure and individual donor factors which can potentially affect the yield of mesenchymal stromal cells（MSC）.Methods：We determined the yield of MSC from bone marrow under different clinical conditions by comparing the MSC colony numbers from：（1） donors of different ages;（2） healthy donors and patients with leukemia;（3） bone marrow aspirated at different time points during marrow harvesting;（4） bone marrow harvested by different ***：During the process of harvesting,the number of MSC significantly decreased with increase number of aspiration,from 675/ml at the initial decreased to 60/ml after 100 ml bone marrow aspirated,and 50/ml after 200 ml bone marrow *** number of MSC retrieved from leukemia patients（99/ml bone marrow） was significantly lower than that of healthy donors（708/ml bone marrow）.However,there was no significant difference in growth *** was no significant age-related difference of MSC yielded from donors 55 *** there was no significant difference in MSC number between the samples from single end-holed needle and those from multiple-side-hole ***：The optimal bone marrow samples for MSC collection should be obtained earlier in the process of harvesting *** marrow from donors 55 years was equally good as MSC *** autologous MSC from leukemia patients can be utilized for in-vitro MSC expansion.

Background:To test clinically relevant factors associated with quantitative artifact-free deep capillary plexus(DCP)metrics in patients with diabetes mellitus(DM).Methods:563 eligible eyes(221 with no diabetic retinopathy[DR],135 with mild DR,130 with moderate DR,and 77 with severe DR)from 334 subjects underwent optical coherence tomography-angiography(OCT-A)with a swept-source OCT(Triton DRI-OCT,Topcon,Inc.,Tokyo,Japan).Strict criteria were applied to exclude from analysis those DCP images with artifacts and of poor quality,including projection artifacts,motion artifacts,blurriness,signal loss,B-scan segmentation error,or low-quality score.A customized MATLAB program was then used to quantify DCP morphology from the artifact-free DCP images by calculating three metrics:foveal avascular zone(FAZ),vessel density(VD),and fractal dimension(FD).Results:166(29.5%)eyes were excluded after quality control,leaving in the analysis 397 eyes(170 with no DR,101 with mild DR,90 with moderate DR,36 with severe DR)from 250 *** the multiple regression models,larger FAZ area was associated with more severe DR(β=0.687;p=0.037),shorter axial length(AL)(β=−0.171;p=0.003),thinner subfoveal choroid thickness(β=−0.122;p=0.031),and lower body mass index(BMI)(β=−0.090;p=0.047).Lower VD was associated with more severe DR(β=−0.842;p=0.001),shorter AL(β=0.107;p=0.039),and poorer visual acuity(VA)(β=−0.133;p=0.021).Lower FD was associated with more severe DR(β=−0.891;p<0.001)and with older age(β=−0.142;p=0.004).Conclusions:Quantitative artifact-free DCP metrics are associated with VA,DR severity,AL,subfoveal choroidal thickness,age,and BMI in diabetic *** effects of ocular and systemic factors should be considered for meaningful interpretations of DCP changes in DM patients.

精神病临床高危(clinical high-risk for psychosis,CHR-P)人群的症状和功能发展存在异质性,澄清这个群体症状和功能的改变及联系,有利于精神病早期预防。元分析纳入54篇文献,探究CHR-P人群各维度临床症状和功能的纵向改变、基线症状对随访功能的预测作用、调节效应。结果发现,CHR-P人群轻微阳性症状、阴性症状、瓦解症状、情感症状、一般精神病理症状、整体功能和角色功能随时间显著改善,社会功能没有显著改善;基线阴性症状显著负向预测随访的整体功能、社会功能、角色功能,基线的瓦解症状、情感症状、一般精神病理症状与随访的整体功能显著负相关;受教育程度显著调节轻微阳性症状和阴性症状的纵向变化,年龄、轻微阳性症状亚组比例和短暂间歇性精神病性症状亚组比例显著调节情感症状的纵向变化。这揭示阴性症状改善少和社会功能损害是CHR-P人群的核心特征,提示未来可针对阴性症状研发干预措施,进而改善社会功能。

We report on an unusual case presenting with a cardiac pseudo-tumour on echocardiogram, which corresponded to a large soft tissue mural thickening around the mid-right coronary artery. There were similar but not as thick mural lesions around other parts of the coronary arteries. The so-called “pigs-in-a-blanket” sign on computed tomography (CT) scan was pathognomonic of IgG4 coronary arteritis. The IgG4 level was grossly elevated at more than 10 times the upper limit of normal. Positron emission tomography (PET)-CT scans with 18F-fluoro-deoxy-glucose (FDG) and 68Ga-Fibroblast Activation Protein Inhibitor (FAPI) were performed to assess the extent of organ involvement of the IgG4-related disease. The patient was treated with 8 injections of rituximab with good serological response. However, the coronary arteritis findings on CT scan remained unchanged.
