Meiosis is a specialized cell division for producing haploid gametes in sexually reproducing *** this study,w. have independently identified a novel meiosis protein male meiosis recombination regulator(MAMERR)/4930432 K21 Rik and show.d that it is indispensable for meiosis prophase I progression in male *** super-resolution structured illumination microscopy,w. found that MAMERR functions at the same double-strand breaks as the replication protein A and meiosis-specific w.th OB domains/spermatogenesis associated 22 *** generated a Mamerr-deficient mouse model by deleting exons 3 e6 and found that most of Mamerrà/àspermatocytes w.re arrested at pachynema and failed to progress to diplonema,although they exhibited almost intact synapsis and progression to the pachytene stage along w.th XY body *** mechanistic studies revealed that the recruitment of DMC1/RAD51 and heat shock factor 2 ebinding protein in Mamerrà/àspermatocytes w.s only mildly impaired w.th a partial reduction in double-strand break repair,w.ereas a substantial reduction in ubiquitination on the autosomal axes and on the XY body appeared as a major phenotype in Mamerrà/à*** propose that MAMERR may participate in meiotic prophase I progression by regulating the ubiquitination of key meiotic proteins on autosomes and XY chromosomes,and in the absence of MAMERR,the repressed ubiquitination of key meiotic proteins leads to pachytene arrest and cell death.

＜正＞Objective Neuronal cell death,glial cell activation,retinal sw.lling and oxidative injury are complications in retinal ischemia/reperfusion（I/R） *** barbarum polysaccharides（LBP）,extracts from the w.lfberries, are good for "eye health" in Chinese *** aim of our present study is to explore the use of LBP in retinal I/R *** Retinal I/R injury w.s induced by surgical occlusion of the internal carotid *** to induction of ischemia,mice w.re fed orally w.th either vehicle（PBS） or LBP（1 mg/kg） once a day for 1 w.ek. Ischemia w.s maintained for 2 hours and reperfusion w.s then allow.d for 22 ***-embedded retinal sections w.re *** cells w.re counted w.ile apoptosis w.s assessed using TUNEL *** levels of glial fibrillary acidic protein（GFAP）,aquaporin-4（AQP4）,poly（ADP-ribose）（PAR） and nitrotyrosine （NT） w.re investigated by *** integrity of blood-retinal barrier（BRB） w.s examined by IgG extravasation *** Decreased viable cell count and apoptosis w.re found in the ganglion cell layer （GCL） and the inner nuclear layer（INL） of the vehicle-treated I/R ***,increased retinal thickness, GFAP activation,AQP4 up-regulation,IgG extravasation and PAR expression level w.re observed in the vehicletreated I/R *** importantly,many of these changes w.re diminished or abolished in the LBP-treated I/R *** Pre-treatment w.th LBP for 1 w.ek effectively protected the retina from neuronal death,apoptosis, glial cell activation,aquaporin w.ter channel up-regulation,disruption of BRB and oxidative *** present study suggests that LBP may have a neuroprotective role in ocular diseases in w.ich I/R is a feature.

＜正＞Objective The polysaccharides in Lycium barbarum,a w.ll know. traditional Chinese medicine,have been demonstrated to display multiple biological effects such as anti-aging,anti-tumor and *** the present study,w. aimed to evaluate the effects of Lycium barbarum polysaccharides（LBP） on murine brain injury after induction of acute ischemic stroke by middle cerebral artery occlusion（MCAO）.Methods Mice w.re orally treated w.th either vehicle（PBS） or LBP（1 mg/kg or 10 mg/kg） for 1 w.ek before induction of cerebral ischemia by *** 2 h of ischemia follow.d by 22 h of reperfusion,animals w.re evaluated for neurological *** after scoring of the neurological deficits,brains w.re isolated,cut into 6 coronal slices of 2 mm thickness and stained w.th 2%2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride（TTC） to detect lesion *** posterior surface of each brain slice w.s subsequently photographed and analyzed using a digital image analysis *** area,volume,and hemispheric brain sw.lling w.re calculated using an indirect method in w.ich the effects of edema and brain sw.lling have been ***（1） Mice treated w.th either 1 mg/kg LBP or 10 mg/kg LBP（n=7 for each group） had less neurological deficits than the vehicle-treated mice（n=8）（vehicle=2.0+/-0.3,1 mg/kg LBP=1.4+/-0.2,10 mg/kg LBP=1.1+/-0.1）.（2） TTC staining revealed a significantly smaller infarct area in brain slice number 4 in the LBP-treated mice w.en compared w.th the vehicle-treated mice（vehicle=35.4+/- 4.2%,1 mg/kg LBP=17.5+/-5.8%,10 mg/kg LBP=17.6+/-4.9%）.（3） Consistent w.th the infarct area data,the overall infarct volumes w.re decreased in the LBP-treated groups（vehicle=25.8+/-3.1%,1 mg/kg LBP=215+/-2.5%,10mg/kg LBP=16.6+/-2.7%）. （4） Mice treated w.th LBP displayed less hemispheric brain sw.lling（vehicle=11.1+/-0.9%,1 mg/kg LBP=9.7+/-1.1%,10mg/kg LBP=7.9+/-0.6%）.Conclusions Taken together,these data indicate that treatment w.th LBP for 1 w.ek could protect the mouse

丙型肝炎病毒（HCV）是导致慢性肝病的主要原因，全世界有2千万人感染此病。如果不进行治疗，20年后将有20—30％的人进展到肝硬化。目前最好的治疗方法是长效干扰素加利巴韦林，但在HCV基因Ⅰ型感染者和免疫低下的患者中治疗效果依然欠佳，如那些HIV双重感染或移植后复发的丙肝患者。在这些难治组中，抗病毒治疗期间HCV动力学研究可能提供了了解宿主病毒间的相互影响的方法并且加速新治疗方法的开发。
