Enabling affordances of blockchain in agri-food supply chains:A value-driver framework using Q-methodology

The application of blockchain beyond cryptocurrencies has received increasing attention from industry and scholars *** predicted looming food crises,some of the most impactful deployments of blockchains are likely to concern food supply *** study outlined how blockchain adoption can result in positive affordances in the food supply *** Q-methodology,this study explored the current status of the agri-food supply chain and how blockchain technology could be useful in addressing existing *** theorization leads to the proposition of the 3TIC value-driver framework for determining the enabling affordances of blockchain that would increase shared value for ***,we propose a framework based on the most promising features of blockchain technology to overcome current challenges in the agri-food *** value-driver framework is driven by the Q-study findings of respondents closely associated with the agri-food supply *** framework can provide supply chain stakeholders with a clear perception of blockchain affordances and serve as a guideline for utilizing appropriate features of technology that match organizations’capabilities,core competencies,goals,and ***,it could assist top-level decision-makers in systematically evaluating parts of the organization to focus on and improve the infrastructure for successful blockchain implementation along the agri-food supply *** conclude by noting certain significant challenges that must be carefully addressed to successfully adopt blockchain technology.

In this paper,we proposed an innovation diffusion model with three compartments to investigate the diffusion of an innovation(product)in a particular *** model exhibits two equilibria,namely,the adopter-free and an interior *** existence and local stability of the adopter-free and interior equilibria are explored in terms of the effective Basic Influence Number(BIN)R_(A).It is investigated that the adopter free steady-state is stable if R_(A)<*** consideringτ(the adoption experience of the adopters)as the bifurcation parameter,we have been able to obtain the critical value ofτresponsible for the periodic solutions due to Hopf *** direction and stability analysis of bifurcating periodic solutions has been performed by using the arguments of normal form theory and the center manifold *** numerical simulations in the support of analytical results have been presented.

A foremost general contraction condition is introduced to prove the existence of fixed points for a self-mapping in a somplete metric space whose orbital diametral functions are closed. This condition covers not only the Kannan type but also covers Reich, and Hardy and Roger's type contractive conditions. An example is given in its support.

Performance Analysis of Unbalance Radial Feeder with Time Varying Composite Load

The focus of this paper is to present performance indices for unbalance radial feeder having different characteristic and composition of time varying static ZIP load models. These provide a framework for benchmarking of distribution automation projects. 15 minutes characteristics time interval for load flow and load modeling are considered to meet smart grid implementation criterion. A forward-backward sweep method is employed for load flow solution. Developed performance indices were illustrated on modified IEEE 37 node test feeder. Performance indices are useful for analysis, operational, planning and integration of stochastic renewable sources.

Luminescence properties of near-UV excitable yellow-orange light emitting warm CaSrAl_2SiO_7:Sm^(3+) phosphors

Single-phase CaSrAl_2 SiO_7:Sm^(3+) phosphors were synthesized by traditional high temperature solid state reaction method. Formation of samples and phase analysis were confirmed by X-ray diffraction technique. Morphology was done by field emission scanning electron microscopy and elemental compositions were confirmed by energy dispersive X-ray analysis. Present phosphors have tetragonal crystallography with space group P42_1 m. Average crystallite size was calculated by using Scherrer and Williamson-Hall method. Photoluminescence study of CaSrAl_2 SiO_7:Sm^(3+) phosphor was *** different excitation wavelengths, PL spectra consist of four emission bands at 564, 570, 601 and650 nm. The emission bands located at 564 and 570 nm are associated with the transition ~4 G_(5/2)→~6 H_(5/2)while emission bands at 601 and 650 nm are due to ~4 G_(5/2)→~6 H_(7/2) and ~4 G_(5/2)→~6 H_(9/2),*** emission was obtained when phosphor was excited under 404 nm wavelength. Non-radiative energy transfer process involved in concentration quenching, was also discussed. CIE coordinate is found in yellow-orange region, hence CaSrAl_2SiO_7:Sm^(3+) phosphors emit yellow-orange light when efficiently excited by near UV(～400 nm) LED chip. Color purity and CCT of the phosphor were determined; CCT suggests that present phosphor is a good candidate as a warm yellow-orange color emitting phosphor. Effect of different heating rates and different UV exposure time on the TL glow curve of the phosphor was investigated. Activation energies and kinetic parameters for different traps were calculated by using peak shape method. TL emission spectrum was also recorded. Present article explains all the possible mechanisms associated with luminescence process in CaSrAl_2 SiO_7:Sm^(3+) phosphors.

The solution to evolution equations has developed an independent theory within nonlinear analysis dealing with the existence and approximation of such solution （ fixed point） of pseudocontractive operators and its variants. The object is to introduce a perturbed iteration method for proving the convergence of sequence of Lipschitzian pseudocontractive mapping using approximate fixed point technique. This iteration can be ued for nonlinear operators which are more general than Lipschitzian pseudocontractive operator and Bruck iteration fails for proving their convergence. Our results generalize the results of Chidume and Zegeye.

Exploration, Characterization and Phylogenetic Studies in Wild <i>Mangifera indica</i>Relatives

Exploratory surveys were carried out in the Andamans and Nicobar group of islands during 2006 and 2014 to locate wild species viz. Mangifera andamanica King, Mangifera camptosperma Pierre and Mangifera griffithii Hook. Not much variation was observed for fruit shape and size for the species Mangifera andamanica, which was endemic to this region. The species M. griffithii has been reported to be only in Mt. Harriet. However, another plant of M. griffithii in the Shoalbay region was found during the second survey. The foliage & fruit characteristics of the two specimens were similar, with a slight difference in the morphological features, which could be attributed to their origin from seeds. The DNA finger printing carried out showed minor changes in the species. The phylogenetic relationships amongst five Mangifera species viz. M. indica, M. griffithii, M. camptosperma, M. odorata and M. andamanica were analyzed by employing chloroplast markers viz., petB-petD intergenic spacer, rps16 gene, trnL-trnF intergenic spacer and nuclear marker—External Transcribed Spacer (ETS). The nuclear markers and chloroplast markers based on phylogenetic analysis showed that the common mango M. indica L. was closely related to M. griffithii and M. camptosperma, which belonged to subgenus Mangifera. However, M. odorata that belonged to subgenus Limus was grouped separately along with M. andamanica. The above results are in congruent with the accepted classification of genus Mangifera reported by Kostermans and Bompard with the exception of M. andamanica, which has been earlier classified under subgenus Mangifera. Results clearly indicated that classification of M. andamanica under subgenus needed to be reconsidered.

Characterization of Urban Soil with SEM-EDX

The coal is largely used for generation of energy in the India, and their huge exploitations cause contamination of the soil. In the present work, the inorganic contamination of surface soil in the coal basin of the country, Korba is described. The concentration of elements i.e. C, O, S, Cl, Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, K, Ca, Ti, Fe, Mn and Ni in the surface soils (n = 30) was analysed by technique i.e. scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX), ranged from 6.6% - 36.4%, 37.8% - 54.3%, 0.07% - 0.39%, 0.03% - 0.25%, 0.10% - 0.39%, 0.12% - 0.49%, 3.7% - 10.3%, 12.2% - 24.4%, 0.11% - 0.60%, 0.68% - 3.22%, 0.8% - 2.7%, 0.25% - 0.61%, 2.3% - 6.4%, 0.08% - 0.22% and 0.04% - 0.16% with mean value (p = 0.05) of 18.8% ± 2.7%, 49.0% ± 1.5%, 0.18% ± 0.03%, 0.11% ± 0.02%, 0.23% ± 0.03%, 0.32% ± 0.03%, 6.1% ± 0.5%, 16.9% ± 0.9%, 0.27% ± 0.04%, 1.6% ± 0.2%, 1.5% ± 0.2%, 0.41% ± 0.03%, 4.3% ± 0.4%, 0.14% ± 0.02% and 0.08% ± 0.01%, respectively. The surface soil morphology, concentration variation of elements, pollution indices and contaminant sources in the soil are discussed.

Contamination of Pond Water and Sediment in Coal Burning Area

The pond water is used by a variety of animals i.e. mammals, birds, duck, and fish. Sediments play a significant role in determining the overall environmental quality for the living organism. Therefore, in this work, chemical characterization of pond water and sediment in the largest coal burning basin of India i.e. Korba basin is described. Elements i.e. C, O, S, F, Cl, Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, K, Ca, Ti, Fe, As, Cr, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb, and Hg were quantified. Toxic metals i.e. As, Cd, Hg, and Pb were highly enriched in the sediments, ranging from 36 - 154, 0.14 - 1.19, 0.12 - 0.82 and 26 - 127 mg/kg with mean value (p = 0.05) of 95 ± 12, 0.62 ± 0.11, 0.35 ± 0.08 and 75 ± 13 mg/kg, respectively. The concentration variations, pollution indices and sources of elements in water and sediment are discussed.
