Objective:To isolate and characterize antidiabetic component（bioactivity-guided fractionation） from hydro alcoholic extract of Ocimum sanctum（***） aerial ***:Ten fractions（F1 - F10） were isolated from hydro alcoholic extract of *** aerial part by column *** the fractions Fl to F10 were screened for antidiabetic activity in alloxan induced diabetic rats by estimating serum glucose level and lipid *** isolated bioactive component was elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic(UV,IR,MS,1H and 13C NMR) data ***:The bioactive fraction（F5） was found to be potent antidiabetic by ameliorating glucose and lipid parameters（total cholesterol,triglycerides,low and high density lipoprotein cholesterol）.The extensive spectroscopic data analysis reveals that,the isolated bioactive compound elucidated as tetracyclic triterpenoid[16-Hydroxy-4,4,10,13-tetramethyl- 17-（4-methyI-pentyl）-hexadecahydro-cyclopenta[a]phenanthren-3-one].Conclusions:Our present study concluded that,tetracyclic triterpenoid isolated from aerial part of *** has a great anti-diabetic potential.

Objective:To evaluate antidiabetic activity of chloroform extracts of Acacia arabica bark, Benincasa hispida fruit,Tinispora cordifolia stem,Ocimum sanctum areal parts and Jatropha curcus ***:The chloroform extracts of Acacia arabica bark,Benincasa hispida fruit,Tinospora cordifolia stem,aerial part of Ocimum sanctum and Jatropha curcus leaves were evaluated at different doses(250 and 500 mg/kg body weight.) for antidiabetic potentials in alloxan induced diabetic albino *** extracts were administered for two weeks in different groups whereas tolbutamide(80 mg/kg body weight) was used as reference standard throughout ***:The result of present study showed test compounds significantly decreases elevated level of serum glucose and also caused to reverse the cholesterol,triglyceride,HDL and LDL values when compared to untreated diabetic ***:Our finding indicates that different test extracts were able to ameliorate the derangements in lipid metabolism caused by diabetes mellitus in alloxan induced diabetic rats towards normal level.

Mapping of dwarfing gene Rht14 in durum wheat and its effect on seedling vigor, internode length and plant height

Short coleoptiles associated with GA-insensitive Rht-1 alleles in wheat reduces yield due to poor seedling establishment under dry, or stubble-retained conditions. Hence there is a need for alternative dwarfing genes for wheat improvement programs. GA-sensitive dwarfing gene Rht14 confers semidwarf stature in wheat while retaining longer coleoptiles and early seedling vigor. Two RIL populations were used to identify the map position of Rht14 and to estimate its effect on plant height, coleoptile length, seedling shoot length,spike length and internode length. Rht14 on chromosome 6 A was mapped in the genomic region 383–422 Mbp flanked by GA2oxA9 and wmc753 in a Bijaga Yellow/Castelporziano RIL population. Recombination events between Rht14 and GA2oxA9 in the RIL population indicated that Rht14 might not be allelic to GA2oxA9. The conserved DNA sequence of GA2oxA9 and its flanking region in Castelporziano also suggested that the point of mutation responsible for the Rht14 allele must be a few Mbp away from GA2oxA9. The dwarfing effects of Rht14 on plant height, internode length and seedling vigor were compared with those of Rht-B1 b in an HI 8498/Castelporziano RIL population. Both genes significantly reduced plant height and internode length. Rht-B1 b conferred a significant reduction in coleoptile length and seedling shoot length, whereas Rht14 reduced plant height, but not coleoptile and seedling shoot length. Therefore, Rht14 can be a used as an alternative to Rht-B1 b for development of cultivars suitable for deeper sowing in dry environments and in conditions of conservation agriculture where crop residues are retained.

Objective:To evaluate the antinociceptive activity of the methanol extract of Ricinus communis leaves(MRCL).Methods:Antinociceptive activity was evaluated using acetic acid induced writhing test,formalin induced paw licking and tail immersion method in mice at doses of 100,125 and 130 mg/kg ***:The results indicated that MRCL exhibited considerable antinociceptive activity against three classical models of pain in *** phytochemical analysis suggested the presence of saponin,steroids and ***:It can be concluded that MRCL possesses antinociceptive potential that may be due to saponin,steroids and alkaloids in it.

Coccinia grandis Linn(Curcubitaceae) is a climber herb cultivated throughout *** traditional medicine fruits have been used to treat leprosy,fever,asthma,bronchitis and *** present study,ethanol extract of *** fruit(ECGF) at 100,125 and 150 mg·kg-1,i.p.,was evaluated for mast cell stabilizing,antianaphylactic and antihistaminic activity using egg albumin induced mast cell degranulation in mice;passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in rats and clonidine induced catalepsy in mice *** at(100-150 mg·kg-1,i.p.) significantly protected egg albumin induced degranulations of mast cells and caused reduction of blue dye leakage in passive cutaneous anaphylaxis in dose *** treatment ECGF also inhibited clonidine induced catalepsy in dose dependent *** studies observed presence of saponin,steroids,alkaloids,flavonoids and *** conclusion ECGF possesses mast cell stabilizing;anti anaphylactic and antihistaminic potential which might be used in treatment of asthma.

Single-use flexible ureteroscopes: Comparative in vitro analysis of four scopes

Long-term outcomes of urethral balloon dilation for anterior urethral stricture: A prospective cohort study

Objective:To prospectively follow up a cohort of anterior urethral stricture disease patients managed with balloon dilation(BD)for 3 years to evaluate the long-term outcomes and to study factors that contribute to ***:This study included men who had urethral BD for significant anterior urethral stricture disease between January 2017 and March *** about the patient age,stricture characteristics,and recurrence date were recorded,along with information on postoperative indwelling catheter use and operative ***,information about the self-calibration procedure was collected and where available,free flow(FF)measurements during the follow-up period were recorded and *** was defined as a lack of symptoms and acceptable FF rates(maximum flow rate>12 mL/s).Results:The final analysis was conducted on 187 *** mean follow-up period was 37 *** long-term overall success rate at the end of our study was 66.8%.Our recurrence rate was 7.4%at 12 months,24.7%at 24 months,and reached 33.2%at the end of our *** time to recurrence ranged from 91 days to 1635 days,with a mean of 670 *** stricture-free survival was significantly shorter with lengthy peno-bulbar(p=0.031)and multiple strictures(p=0.015),and in the group of patients who were not committed to self-calibration protocol(p<0.011).However,post-procedural self-calibration was the most important factor that may have decreased the incidence of recurrence(odds ratioZ5.85).Adjuvant self-calibration after BD not only reduced the recurrence rate from 85.4%in the non-self-calibration group to 15.1%in the self-calibration one(p<0.001),but also improved the overall stricture-free survival and FF parameters.
