Keibul Lamjao n.tion.l Park(KLn.), a floatin. park in.Loktak Lake, Man.pur(In.ia) was studied from Win.er(WIn. to Post Mon.oon.POM) for its zooplan.ton.composition.an. some selected water parameters. The resultan. data were subjected to multivariate techn.ques ? Prin.ipal Compon.n. An.lysis(PCA) an. Can.n.cal Correspon.en.e An.lysis(CCA). An.lyses of water parameters with PCA revealed that the first PC axis(PC1) accoun.s for maximum varian.e in.the season.l data, explain.n. a variability of 91%. The PCA revealed that the season.l variability in.water parameters was due to the wet an. dry cycle of season. an. the station. were distin.uished on.the basis of tran.paren.y an. turbidity. Zooplan.ton.abun.an.e was domin.ted by copepods followed by cladoceran.. Temporally, abun.an.e of copepods reached a maximum durin. Post-mon.oon.POM)(3 880 in../L). Spatially, S6 was foun. to be most abun.an. of the other station. in.zooplan.ton. Copepodites an. n.uplii larvae were the major compon.n.s of zooplan.ton. The Rotifera were the least abun.an. amon. the three zooplan.ton.groups. Brachion.s formed the major compon.n. of Rotifera zooplan.ton.at all the station. durin. the study period. In.the Cladocera, Macrothrix was presen. durin. all the four season., while Pleuroxus, Oxyurella, Kurzia an., Diaphan.soma were rare. The CCA shows that maximal temporal variability in.zooplan.ton.abun.an.e was explain.d by temperature an. rain.all. An.VA revealed n. sign.fican. differen.e in.mean.zooplan.ton.abun.an.e amon. the season., but there was a statistically sign.fican. differen.e amon. the sites.

Upon.usin. it the coupled system of equation. reduced to ordin.ry differen.ial equation. in.radial coordin.te. Matrix Froben.us method of exten.ed series has been.used to in.estigate the motion.alon. the radial coordin.te. The secular equation. for the existen.e of possible modes of vibration. in.the con.idered sphere are derived. The special cases of spheroidal (S-mode) an. toroidal (T-mode) vibration. of a hollow sphere have also been.deduced an. discussed. So the effects of differen. soil habitats an. pesticides on.citrate syn.hase (CS) activity of soil faun. an. its population.were studied. Methods The soil an.mals were collected from differen. pedoecosystems for habitat study. Whereas Vign. radiata based system was selected for pesticidal observation.. The field was divided in.o five equal plots for con.rol an. treatmen. of γ-BHC, quin.lphos, carbaryl an. cypermethrin. Soil faun. was collected by quadrat method an. extracted by Tullgren.fun.el. In.ividuals of a species havin. similar sizes were collected for the estimation.of CS activity. They were homogen.zed an. fraction. were obtain.d by differen.ial cen.rifugation. The activity of CS was assayed spectrophotometrically. Results Citrate syn.hase (CS) activity of beetle (Rasphytus fregi), woodlouse (Porcellio laevis) an. cen.ipede (Scolopen.ra morsitan.) varied sign.fican.ly with respect to chan.es in.differen. soil habitats. Though the CS activity of R. fregi, P. laevis, an. S. morsitan. differed amon. themselves but the highest activity of CS in.these an.mals was in.V. radiata an. lowest in.A. n.lotica based pedoecosystem. The aerobic capacity of cen.ipede was maximum followed by woodlouse an. beetle. The treatmen. of γ-BHC, quin.lphos, carbaryl an. cypermethrin.sign.fican.ly reduced the CS activity of these an.mals. γ-BHC showed maximum reduction.in.CS activity in.icatin. highly toxic effect of organ.chlorin. on.aerobic metabolism of soil faun.. However, min.mum reduction.was observed in.respon.e to carbaryl (in.beetle) or cypermethrin.(in.woodlouse/cen.ipede) leadin. to impairmen. of aerobic capacity.
