Spatial distribution of fossil fuel derived CO_(2) over India using radiocarbon measurements in crop plants

Examining the contribution of fossil fuel CO_(2) to the total CO_(2) changes in the atmosphere is of primary concern due to its alarming levels of fossil fuel emissions over the globe,specifically developing countries.Atmospheric radiocarbon represents an important observational constraint and utilized to trace fossil fuel derived CO_(2)(CO_(2ff))in the atmosphere.For the first time,we have presented a detailed analysis on the spatial distribution of fossil fuel derived CO_(2)(CO_(2ff))over India using radiocarbon(Δ14C)measurements during three-year period.Analysis shows that theΔ14C values are varying between 29.33‰ to-34.06‰ across India in the year 2017,where highest value belongs to a location from Gujarat while lowest value belongs to a location from Chhattisgarh.Based on the14C patterns,spatial distributions of CO_(2ff) mole fractions have been determined over India and the calculated values of CO_(2ff) mole fractions are varying between 4.85 ppm to 26.59 ppm across India.It is also noticed that the highest CO_(2ff) mole fraction is observed as 26.59 ppm from a site in Chhattisgarh.CO_(2ff) mole fraction values from four high altitude sites are found to be varied between 4.85 ppm to 14.87 ppm.Effect of sampling different crop plants from the same growing season and different crop plant organs(grains,leaves,stems)on theΔ14C and CO_(2ff) have been studied.Annual and intra seasonal variations in theΔ14C and CO_(2ff) mole fractions have also been analyzed from a rural location(Dholpur,Rajasthan).

Dynamics of some new solutions to the coupled DSW equations traveling horizontally on the seabed

The system of(1+1)-coupled Drinfel’d-Sokolov-Wilson equations describes the surface gravity waves travelling horizontally on the seabed.The objective of the present research is to construct a new variety of analytical solutions for the system.The invariants are derived with the aid of Killing form by using the optimal algebra classification via Lie symmetry approach.The invariant solutions involve time,space variables,and arbitrary constants.Imposing adequate constraints on arbitrary constants,solutions are represented graphically to make them more applicable in designing sea models.The behavior of solutions shows asymptotic,bell-shaped,bright and dark soliton,bright soliton,parabolic,bright and kink,kink,and periodic nature.The constructed results are novel as the reported results[26,28,29,30,33,38,42,49]can be deduced from the results derived in this study.The remaining solutions derived in this study,are absolutely different from the earlier findings.In this study,the physical character of analytical solutions of the system could aid coastal engineers in creating models of beaches and ports.

The exponential growth in communication networks,data technology,advanced libraries,and mainly World Wide Web services has played a pivotal role in facilitating the retrieval of various types of information as needed.However,this progress has also led to security concerns related to the transmission of confidential data.Nevertheless,safeguarding these data during communication through insecure channels is crucial for obvious reasons.The emergence of steganography offers a robust approach to concealing confidential information,such as images,audio tracks,text files,and video files,in suitable media carriers.A novel technique is envisioned based on back-propagation learning.According to the proposed method,a hybrid fuzzy neural network(HFNN)is applied to the output obtained from the least significant bit substitution of secret data using pixel value dif-ferences and exploiting the modification direction.Through simulation and test results,it has been observed that the proposed methodology achieves secure steganography and superior visual quality.During the experiments,we observed that for the secret image of the cameraman,the PSNR&MSE values of the proposed technique are 61.963895 and 0.041361,respectively.

The integration of WhatsApp,a widely-used instant messaging application(IMA),into the realm of orthopaedics and trauma surgery has emerged as a significant development in recent years.This paper explores the multifaceted role of WhatsApp in orthopaedics,focusing on its clinical and non-clinical applications,advantages,disadvantages,and future prospects.The study synthesizes findings from various research papers,emphasizing the growing reliance on mobile technology in healthcare.WhatsApp’s role in orthopaedics is notable for its ease of use,real-time communication,and accessibility.Clinically,it facilitates triage,teleconsultation,diagnosis,treatment,patient advice,and post-operative monitoring.Non-clinically,it supports telemedicine,teleradiology,virtual frac-ture clinics,research,and education in orthopaedic surgery.The application has proven beneficial in enhancing communication among healthcare teams,providing quick responses,and motivating junior physicians.Its use in educational settings has been shown to improve learner’s understanding and patient care.However,the use of WhatsApp in orthopaedics is not without challenges.Risks include the potential spread of misleading information,privacy concerns,and issues with image quality affecting diagnosis and treatment decisions.The paper acknowledges the importance of maintaining professional boundaries and the need for oversight measures to ensure content accuracy.Looking forward,the potential of WhatsApp and similar IMAs in orthopaedics lies in their ability to streamline data collection and retrieval,improve doctor-patient communication,and address challenges like bureaucratic red tape and limited resources.The paper suggests that future orthopaedic practice,particularly in emergency departments,will increasingly rely on such technologies for efficient patient management.This shift,however,must be approached with an understanding of the ethical,legal,and practical implications of integrating social media and mobile technology in healthcare.

BACKGROUND There is scant literature on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome(BCS).AIM To assess the magnitude,clinical characteristics,feasibility,and outcomes of treatment in BCS-HCC.METHODS A total of 904 BCS patients from New Delhi,India and 1140 from Mumbai,India were included.The prevalence and incidence of HCC were determined,and among patients with BCS-HCC,the viability and outcomes of interventional therapy were evaluated.RESULTS In the New Delhi cohort of 35 BCS-HCC patients,18 had HCC at index presentation(prevalence 1.99%),and 17 developed HCC over a follow-up of 4601 person-years,[incidence 0.36(0.22-0.57)per 100 person-years].BCS-HCC patients were older when compared to patients with BCS alone(P=0.001)and had a higher proportion of inferior vena cava block,cirrhosis,and long-segment vascular obstruction.The median alpha-fetoprotein level was higher in patients with BCS-HCC at first presentation than those who developed HCC at follow-up(13029 ng/mL vs 500 ng/mL,P=0.01).Of the 35 BCS-HCC,26(74.3%)underwent radiological interventions for BCS,and 22(62.8%)patients underwent treatment for HCC[transarterial chemoembolization in 18(81.8%),oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor in 3(13.6%),and transarterial radioembolization in 1(4.5%)].The median survival among patients who underwent interventions for HCC compared with those who did not was 3.5 years vs 3.1 mo(P=0.0001).In contrast to the New Delhi cohort,the Mumbai cohort of BCS-HCC patients were predominantly males,presented with a more advanced HCC[Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer C and D],and 2 patients underwent liver transplantation.CONCLUSION HCC is not uncommon in patients with BCS.Radiological interventions and liver transplantation are feasible in select primary BCS-HCC patients and may improve outcomes.

Detection of latent fingerprints using luminescent Gd_(0.95)Eu_(0.05)PO_(4) nanorods

Lanthanide ions doped luminescent materials are widely studied for latent fingerprint detection.However,most of these materials are synthesized at very high temperatures and use UV C light for visualization,which is harmful to eye,skin,etc.Herein,the Gd_(0.95)Eu_(0.05)PO_(4) nanorods synthesized by a simple co-precipitation method at 185℃ were reported for latent fingerprint visualization under 395 nm light.The Gd_(0.95)Eu_(0.05)PO_(4) nanomaterial has monoclinic crystal structure and shows rod-shaped morphology.Further,these Gd_(0.95)Eu_(0.05)PO_(4) nanorods exhibit excellent photoluminescence properties and strong fuchsia emission under UV light.These nanorods have been employed for developing latent fingerprints on various porous and non-porous substrates by the powder dusting technique,which exhibits clear and well defined details with high contrast,selectivity and sensitivity under 395 nm UV light.Latent fingerprints developed after 72 h of their deposition also show clear contrast with these nanorods.Therefore,the Gd_(0.95)Eu_(0.05)PO_(4) nanorods can be used for latent fingerprint visualization applications.

SRN-LEACH: an energy-efficient leach protocol with random number stabilisation for WSNs

The power supplies of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are not replaceable orrechargeable forsensors. For reducing the communication protocols’ impact onthe sensor network’s energy dissipation,various protocols or mechanisms havebeen proposed. Therefore, this article proposesa stable random number-basedLEACH protocol to stabilize the random number generation toimprove the CHselection efficiency. The wireless sensor network’s average node energy (ANE)ismultiplied by the random number that relies on the nodes’ energy. A nodegrade algorithm(NGA) based relay selection is introduced for inter andintracluster communication for energy efficiencyenhancement. The proposed NGA calculates the grade of a node using residual energy,distance from CHs,and its traffic parameters. Based on the simulation results, the proposedSRN-LEACH protocol shows superior performance as compared to existing protocolsincludingreduced energy dissipation, improved communication quality, andNLT. The proposed methodattains a minimum average delay of 0.136ms, 0.95% PDR, 148kbps TP rate, and 98% NLT.

Wide-Angle Scanning Antennas for Millimeter-Wave 5G Applications

The fifth generation(5G)network communication systems operate in the millimeter waves and are expected to provide a much higher data rate in the multi-gigabit range,which is impossible to achieve using current wireless services,including the sub-6 GHz band.In this work,we briefly review several existing designs of millimeter-wave phased arrays for 5G applications,beginning with the low-profile antenna array designs that either are fixed beam or scan the beam only in one plane.We then move on to array systems that offer two-dimensional(2D)scan capability,which is highly desirable for a majority of 5G applications.Next,in the main body of the paper,we discuss two different strategies for designing scanning arrays,both of which circumvent the use of conventional phase shifters to achieve beam scanning.We note that it is highly desirable to search for alternatives to conventional phase shifters in the millimeter-wave range because legacy phase shifters are both lossy and costly;furthermore,alternatives such as active phase shifters,which include radio frequency amplifiers,are both expensive and power-hungry.Given this backdrop,we propose two different antenna systems with potential for the desired 2D scan performance in the millimeter-wave range.The first of these is a Luneburg lens,which is excited either by a 2D waveguide array or by a microstrip patch antenna array to realize 2D scan capability.Next,for second design,we turn to phased-array designs in which the conventional phase shifter is replaced by switchable PIN diodes or varactor diodes,inserted between radiating slots in a waveguide to provide the desired phase shifts for scanning.Finally,we discuss several approaches to enhance the gain of the array by modifying the conventional array configurations.We describe novel techniques for realizing both one-dimensional(1D)and 2D scans by using a reconfigurable metasurface type of panels.

This work is devoted to get a new family of analytical solutions of the(2+1)-coupled dispersive long wave equations propagating in an infinitely long channel with constant depth,and can be observed in an open sea or in wide channels.The solutions are obtained by using the invariance property of the similarity transformations method via one-parameter Lie group theory.The repeated use of the similarity transformations method can transform the system of PDEs into system of ODEs.Under adequate restrictions,the reduced system of ODEs is solved.Numerical simulation is performed to describe the solutions in a physically meaningful way.The profiles of the solutions are simulated by taking an appropriate choice of functions and constants involved therein.In each animation,a frame for dominated behavior is captured.They exhibit elastic multisolitons,single soliton,doubly solitons,stationary,kink and parabolic nature.The results are significant since these have confirmed some of the established results of S.kumar et al.(2020)and K.Sharma et al.(2020).Some of their solutions can be deduced from the results derived in this work.Other results in the existing literature are different from those in this work.
