Objective:To find out the prevalence of intestinal parasites among primary school population(the most vulnerable group) in rural and urban areas in south ***:during a medical civic action in the south of Jordan in summer 2000,stool specimens were collected from 2400 primary school children,aged from 6-12 years,and examined for the detection of intestinal parasitic infection from both urban(1 100 samples) and rural(1 300 samples) areas in south ***:The results indicated that the overall prevalence of intestinal parasitic infection was 28.5%.It was more in rural(33.2%) than in urban(23.0%) areas,but no sex difference was *** regard to the type of infection,Giardia lamblia was the commonest intestinal protozoa, with a rate of 42.6%,while Enterobious vermicularis was the commonest helminth recorded in our study with a rate of 5.9%.Conclusions:Health education by health and school authorities is recommended,particular attention should be paid to repairing the sewage disposal system as well as water supply,which acts as main source of water pollution.

Can Autoimmune Encephalitis Occur with Negative Markers? A Rare Case Report

In our case, we present a case of a 27-year-old male who presented with progressively worsening altered mental status and seizures. Over the course of his admission to the hospital and intensive care unit, laboratory testing failed to find an offending agent to his presentation. Testing did result in the diagnosis of encephalitis, but an underlying cause was not found. After careful exclusion of bacterial, viral, and other types of encephalopathy, autoimmune encephalopathy was diagnosed despite the absence of commonly used markers of autoimmune encephalopathy. The presentation and symptoms of our patient led to a wide range of differentials, and a high index of suspicion was needed throughout his admission in order to obtain the appropriate tests. Although appropriate testing might be ordered, due to the sensitivities and specificities of all laboratory tests, these objective tests do produce false negative results at times. It is in these times that one must weigh the physical exam, clinical judgment, and the process of elimination to diagnose an underlying pathology. Autoimmune Encephalitis diagnosis can be broken down into possible, probable, and definitive diagnoses based on antibody testing results. In this case, we present a patient with probable autoimmune encephalitis that failed to yield positive autoimmune markers after extensive testing of other possible causes of encephalitis.

Single-walled carbon nanotubes coated d-shaped fiber for aqueous ethanol detection

In this letter,single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT)coating was used on the d-shaped silica fiber for ethanol sensing in aqueous *** performance of this structure as an ethanol sensor was studied here by monitoring output power variation and wavelength shift with changing ethanol *** the concentration range of 5%—50%of ethanol,the SWCNT coated structure showed an improved sensitivity compared to the uncoated *** sensitivity is improved from 0.0135 dB/%to 0.0409 dB/%with the *** SWCNT coated sample also showed a peak wavelength shift of 0.1 nm with the change of ethanol concentration in the same range.

This paper deals with the modeling, analysis and optimization of a specific kind of real industrial problems. This class of problems is known in the literature as Cyclic Hoist Scheduling Problem （CHSP）. In such class of problems, several jobs have to flow through a production line according to an ordered bath sequence. The CHSPs appear in the manufacturing facilities to achieve a mass production and to search a repetitive sequence of moves for the hoist. In this paper, we develop P-Temporal Petri Net models to represent the behavior and validate certain qualitative properties of the basic production line. Afterward, complex configurations of the production line are modeled and their properties such as reachability of desired functioning （cyclic operation）, deadlock-free, resource sharing and management are checked and validated. A mathematical analysis and a simulation study of all proposed Petri net models are carried out using mathematical fundaments of Petri nets and a Visual Object Net ＋＋ tool. The second part of the paper deals with the development of a mixed integer linear programming models to optimize processing of each line configuration. Optimal manufacturing plans of the studied system with cyclic processing sequences are defined and the feasibility of optimal cyclic scheduling of each configuration is proved.

The importance of the geometrical effect in practical design has been evaluated, showing that an overestimation of the actual member rotation is very likely if the available rotation capacity is based on the evaluation of the behavior of the reference members within a limited size range. The increase of ductility with decreasing member size has been interpreted in fracture mechanics of reinforced concrete. In fracture mechanics it’s seen that beams with higher dimensions are brittle, while those with small dimensions are ductile, so it’s important here to clarify if the same material and design concepts can be applied for reinforced concrete beams with different scales. Three point bending test was executed on 20 reinforced concrete beams varying scale and slenderness ratio (where steel ratio being kept constant). The experimental results obtained varying beam slenderness and beam depth will be used to analyze the structural response for a practical construction, taking in consideration the size effect, these beams are normally designed in such a way that the distribution of their internal forces over the transversal section has been calculated as per elastic beam theory, while the beam dimension will be designed as per the ultimate limit state to obtain a ductile response of the reinforced concrete beams which is necessary to guarantee the structural safety [1].

This experiment aimed to determine how Cd exposure impacts Cd4 cell activation,macrophage cells,pinocytosis activity,metallothionine expression,and Cd levels in juvenile Gambusia affinis *** treatment groups were used,with one control and treatments A,B,C,and d at dosages of 0.03 mg/L,0.023 mg/L,0.015 mg/L,and 0.008 mg/L,*** results showed that the number of Cd4 with Cd8 cell markers differed significantly from each treatment compared to the control(0.33%).The value in A,namely 0.54%,was the highest,followed by B,C,and d of 0.46%,0.44%,and 0.42%,*** number of macrophages increased as the Cd level of the medium increased,as did the activity of ***,the immunofluorescence test on the gills with the Anti-MT Mouse and goat IgG fluoresce in Rhodamine on the gills showed that luminescence increased with increasing Cd levels in the ***,the MT intensity increased at Cd-exposed gills as compared to the *** the Cd level in the gills increased,the MT levels ascended significantly.
