Frequency and Determinants of Peripheral Neuropathy in Diabetic Children in sohag, Egypt

Background: Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a common complication among children with TIDm and is related to poor glycemic control. The aim of the study is to determine prevalence and determinants of diabetic neuropathy in diabetic children. material& methods: This is a cross sectional study conducted on 50 children having Type I diabetes mellitus for more than year presented to Pediatric Neurology and Endocrinology Outpatient Clinics, sohag University Hospital, sohag, Egypt, during one year duration (2017). Children were subjected to detailed neurological examination and electrophysiologic studies in addition to recording of socio demographic and laboratory findings with special regard to level of HbA1c. Results: The mean age of the studied children was 10.5 ± 0.3 years ranging from 5 to 18 years. 22 cases (44%) were younger than 10 years, 27 children (54%) were females. DPN was diagnosed in 12% of the studied children. No significant relation was found as regard age, gender, family history, consanguinity and duration of the diseases. significant association was found between the HbA1c level and development of DPN in the studied children. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, 12% of the studied diabetic children had DPN of whom more than 16% had subclinical neuropathy indicating the need for annual screening of neuropathy using Nerve Conduction study. moreover strict glycaemic control is needed to prevent rapid development of diabetic among these children.

N,N-Diallyl methionine ethyl ester hydrochloride 5 underwent alternating copolymerization with sO_2 via the Butler cyclopolymerization protocol in dimethyl sulfoxide(DmsO) to give water-soluble cycloterpolymer 6 with a ～1:1 molar ratio of sulfide and sulfoxide groups as a result of oxygen transfer from DmsO. Half of the sulfide groups in 6, upon oxidation with H_2O_2, afforded polymer sulfoxide 7 and polymer sulfone 8. The solution properties of these polymers were determined via a viscometric technique. The thermal stability of these polymers was determined by thermogravimetric analysis. The inhibition efficiency obtained from gravimetric mass loss, potentiodynamic polarization, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques agreed well with each other. The corrosion efficiencies increase with increasing concentration of the polymers. At a polymer concentration of 175 mm, the maximum inhibition efficiency of copolymer compounds 6–8 was determined to be 92%, 97%, and 95%, respectively. The synthesized polymer compounds acted as mixed-type inhibitors. Polymer compound 7 adsorbed onto the metal surface via chemisorption and physisorption and obeyed Langmuir, Temkin, and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. Analyses by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy–energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy indicated that the adsorbed polymers formed a thin film on the metal surface and prevented further corrosive attack.

A nanosecond pulsed laser is demonstrated using the stimulated Brillouin scattering(sBs)effect in a nonlinear photonic crystal fiber(PCF).The Brillouin fiber laser(BFL)uses a 50-m-long PCF in a simple ring cavity to generate a self-starting pulse as the Brillouin power reaches 16.5 dBm based on the relaxation oscillation *** BFL generates a pulse train with repetition rates of 2.7 mHz and 5.4 mHz depending on the BP *** pulse width of the laser is obtained to be 190 ns at the BP power of 16.5 dBm and is maintained at around 72 ns as the pump power is set within 17.7 dBm and 18.5 *** maximum pulse energy of 20 nJ is obtained at BP power of 17.4 *** sBs based pulse laser is fairly stable at room temperature.

A simple technique for achieving a stable, room temperature and multi-wavelength lasing with narrow linewidth is demonstrated using Brillouin ber laser （BFL） with a 100-m-long photonic crystal ber （PCF） in conjunction with a dual-pass configuration. A broadband ber Bragg grating （FBG） operating in the C-band region is incorporated at the end side of the setup to allow a dual-pass operation. The proposed BFL can operate at any wavelength depending on the Brillouin pump wavelength and the FBG＇s reflection region used. With a Brillouin pump （BP） of 15.7 dBm, approximately 7 stokes and 4 anti-stokes lines are obtained with a line spacing of 0.08 nm.

An effective and simple way to develop equations from impact strain signals was *** research has been performed in this area,but this equation is very important for evaluating input signals in finite element analysis impact tests and for obtaining additional information on material deformation and fracture processes under impact *** this purpose,dynamic impact responses were examined through signals obtained from a strain gauge installed on an impact striker connected to a data acquisition *** 6061-T6 was used to extract strain responses on the striker during Charpy impact *** analysis was performed using the I-kaz method,and curve fitting equations based on the equation for vibration response under a non-periodic force were used to evaluate the Charpy impact *** I-kaz coefficients and curve fitting equations were then compared and discussed with related parameters,such as velocities and *** and thickness were found to be related to the strain signal patterns,curve fitting equations and I-kaz *** equations developed using this method had R2 values greater than 97.7%.Finally,the constructed equations were determined to be suitable for evaluating Charpy impact strain signal patterns and obtaining additional information on fracture processes under impact loading.

The sequence space bvp consisting of all sequences （xk） such that （xk -xk-1） belongs to the space gp has recently been introduced by Basar and Altay [Ukrainian math. J., 55（1）, 136-147（2003）]; where 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞. In the present paper, some results concerning with the continuous dual and f-dual, and the AD-property of the sequence space bvp have been given and the norm of the difference operator A acting on the sequence space bvp has been found. The fine spectrum with respect to the Goldberg＇s classification of the difference operator △ over the sequence space bvp has been determined, where 1≤p〈∞.

The negative selection algorithm(NsA)is an adaptive technique inspired by how the biological immune system discriminates the self from *** asserts itself as one of the most important algorithms of the artificial immune system.A key element of the NsA is its great dependency on the random detectors in monitoring for any ***,these detectors have limited *** detectors are generated,leading to difficulties for detectors to effectively occupy the non-self *** alleviate this problem,we propose the nature-inspired metaheuristic cuckoo search(Cs),a stochastic global search algorithm,which improves the random generation of detectors in the *** characteristics such as mutation,crossover,and selection operators make the Cs attain global *** the use of Lévy flight and a distance measure,efficient detectors are *** results show that integrating Cs into the negative selection algorithm elevated the detection performance of the NsA,with an average increase of 3.52%detection rate on the tested *** proposed method shows superiority over other models,and detection rates of 98%and 99.29%on Fisher’s IRIs and Breast Cancer datasets,***,the generation of highest detection rates and lowest false alarm rates can be achieved.

The structural and magnetic properties of essentially phase pure AlFe2B2prepared by arc melting were compared with a sample containing impurities. Analysis was carried out by means of synchrotron X-ray diffraction, magnetic measurements and m?ssbauer spectroscopy. The analysis of synchrotron X-ray diffraction data confirmed the orthorhombic structure of space group Cmmm for AlFe2B2with Al13Fe4as main impurity phase. The magnetic measurements revealed an unsaturated ferromagnetic state in AlFe2B2with a transition temperature（Tc） of 286 K. Isothermal magnetization measurment at 5 K gave a saturation magnetization of 0.7 μB per Fe atom while Arrott plots establish the second order nature of ferromagnetic transition. The thermal evolution of m?ssbauer spectra confirmed the ferromagnetic nature of this material revealing an hyperfine field of 73 kOe and an isomer shift of 0.46 mm/s at 100 K. The m?ssbauer spectra of a phase pure sample was compared with the one containing impurity phases. It is suggested that the low temperature paramagnetic contribution in m?ssbauer spectra of phase pure material may have its origin in some intrinsic phenomena arising from defects or inhomogeneities in crystal structure.

Classification of electroencephalogram(EEG)signals for humans can be achieved via artificial intelligence(AI)***,the EEG signals associated with seizure epilepsy can be detected to distinguish between epileptic and non-epileptic *** this perspective,an automated AI technique with a digital processing method can be used to improve these *** paper proposes two classifiers:long short-term memory(LsTm)and support vector machine(sVm)for the classification of seizure and non-seizure EEG *** classifiers are applied to a public dataset,namely the University of Bonn,which consists of 2 classes–seizure and *** addition,a fast Walsh-Hadamard Transform(FWHT)technique is implemented to analyze the EEG signals within the recurrence space of the ***,Hadamard coefficients of the EEG signals are obtained via the ***,the FWHT is contributed to generate an efficient derivation of seizure EEG recordings from non-seizure EEG ***,a k-fold cross-validation technique is applied to validate the performance of the proposed *** LsTm classifier provides the best performance,with a testing accuracy of 99.00%.The training and testing loss rates for the LsTm are 0.0029 and 0.0602,respectively,while the weighted average precision,recall,and F1-score for the LsTm are 99.00%.The results of the sVm classifier in terms of accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity reached 91%,93.52%,and 91.3%,*** computational time consumed for the training of the LsTm and sVm is 2000 and 2500 s,*** results show that the LsTm classifier provides better performance than sVm in the classification of EEG ***,the proposed classifiers provide high classification accuracy compared to previously published classifiers.
