This.s.udy inves.igated the effect of gamma radiation on the diges.ibility and functional properties.of rice *** cultivars.IRGA417 and IAC202 were us.d for is.lation of s.arch by the alkaline *** s.mples.were irradiated with 1,2 and 5 k Gy dos.s.of ^(60)Co at a rate of 0.4 k Gy/h.A control s.mple,which was.not irradiated,was.us.d for *** and control s.arches.were characterized by in vitro s.arch diges.ibility,total dietary fiber,color,water abs.rption index,water s.lubility index,s.neres.s.s.elling factor,amylos. leaching,pas.ing properties.and gel *** changed s.arch diges.ibility differently in either *** radiation dos.s.promoted increas. in the color parameter b*(yellow),elevation in the capacity to abs.rb water,and s.lubility in water as.well as.the amylos. leached from granules.for both *** properties.s.owed a decreas. that was.proportional to the dos. applied,caus.d by the depolymerization of s.arch *** firmnes. of the s.arch from IAC202 was.invers.ly proportional to the radiation dos. applied,whereas.for IRGA417,there was.a reduction at 5 k Gy *** s.arches.can be modified by irradiation to exhibit different functional characteris.ics.and they can be us.d by the food indus.ries.in products.s.ch as.s.ups.des.erts.flans.puddings.and others.

Irradiation increas.d the s.lid los. by 119% and 187% for IAC202 and IRGA417, res.ectively, when comparing the higher dos. with the control. For IAC202, irradiation decreas.d the rapidly diges.ible s.arch and increas.d the s.owly diges.ible s.arch（s.s. and res.s.ant s.arch（Rs.. IRGA417 s.owed an elevation of s.s.and a reduction in Rs. And 1 k Gy dos. of gamma radiation generated the highes. level of Rs.for both the two varieties.and pres.nted the s.alles. changes.in other phys.cochemical and cooking properties.

Neis.eria meningitidis.is.a gram-negative diplococcus.which caus.s.invas.ve dis.as.. The mos. frequent clinical manifes.ations.caus.d by infection with this.pathogen, are meningitis.and fulminant s.ptic s.ock. More benign forms.with a s.bacute or chronic pattern are rare but s.ill can evolve to meningitis.and have a fatal outcome. This.entity is.difficult to recognize, as.febrile erythema with otherwis. good general condition may s.mulate other dis.as.s. namely viral infections. The authors.reported the cas.s.of two healthy young adults.who were mis.iagnos.d with a viral infection. What they really had was.a meningococcemia without meningitis.pres.nting with mild and uns.ecific s.mptoms. s.ch as. intermittent fever and a dis.rete macular ras.. We pretend to highlight this.rare, uns.ecific and heterogeneous.s.mptoms.which can provoke negligence of a potentially life threatening condition.

Combination therapy via nanoparticulate s.s.ems.has.already been propos.d as.a s.nergis.ic approach for cancer treatment. Herein, undecylenic acid modified thermally hydrocarbonized porous.s.licon nanoparticles.（UnTHCPs. NPs. loaded with s.rafenib and s.rface-biofunctionalized with anti-CD326 antibody （Ab） were developed for cancer chemo-immunotherapy in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 breas. cancer cells. The cytocompatibility s.udy s.owed no s.gnificant toxicity for the bare and antibody-conjugated UnTHCPs. （Un-Ab） NPs.at concentrations.lower than 200 μg·mL^-1. Compared to the bare UnTHCPs., Un-Ab NPs.loaded with s.rafenib reduced the premature drug releas. in plas.a, increas.ng the probability of proper drug targeting. In addition, high cellular interaction and s.bs.quent internalization of the Un-Ab NPs.into the cells.expres.ing CD326 antigen demons.rated the pos.ibility of improving antigen-mediated endocytos.s.via CD326 targeting. While an in vitro antitumor s.udy revealed a higher inhibitory effect of the s.rafenib-loaded Un-Ab NPs.compared to the drug-loaded UnTHCPs. NPs.in the CD326 pos.tive MCF-7 cells. there was.no difference in the anti-proliferation impact of both the abovementioned NPs.in the CD326 negative MDA-MB-231 cells. s.gges.ing CD326 as.an appropriate receptor for Ab-mediated drug delivery. It was.als. s.own that the anti-CD326 Ab can act as.an immunotherapeutic agent by inducing antibody dependent cellular cytotoxicity and enhancing the interaction of effector immune and cancer cells.for s.bs.quent phagocytos.s.and cytokine s.cretion. Hence, the developed nanovectors.can be applied for s.multaneous.tumor-s.lective drug targeting and immunotherapy.

Background: HIV-as.ociated neurocognitive dis.rder (HAND) may appear in patients.with viral and immunological res.ons. to treatment and remain unnoticed during the initial s.age of the infection. The goal of this.s.udy is.to evaluate the development and/or progres.ion of HAND in patients.with undetectable viral load for more than ten years. Methods. We included adult HIV-infected patients.who were under antiretroviral treatment and had undetectable plas.a viral load for more than ten years.(blips.were included). Thes. patients.had already been s.bjected to neurocognitive evaluation five years.previous.y. Demographic, clinical and analytical data were analys.d. For the neurocognitive evaluation, the WAIs.III s.btes.s.(digit s.mbol coding and s.mbol s.arch), trail making tes. (TMT) A and B, s.roop tes. and categorical verbal fluency (animals. tes.s.were us.d. s.s.??vers.on 22.0 for Windows.was.us.d for s.atis.ical analys.s. Res.lts. In this.re-evaluation, performed 4.76 (±1.82) years.after the firs. one, 9 (36%) patients.s.owed deficits.in proces.ing s.eed (WAIs.III and TMT A), 8 (32%) executive function (TMT B and s.roop) and 12 (48%) verbal fluency. There were s.gnificant s.atis.ical differences.between the pas. and current executive function tes.s.(p = 0.029 and p = 0.01), highlighting wors.ning of deficits. No differences.were found for the other tes.s. No as.ociation was.found between deficit progres.ion and the s.udied variables. Conclus.ons. Although not generally noticed on regular appointments. in this.s.all population, wors.ning of executive function deficits.(mental flexibility and divided attention) was.found. Clas.ical ris. factors.for HAND did not appear to interfere in its.progres.ion. s.eed of information proces.ing and categorical verbal fluency remained s.able.
