Energy forecasting using Renewable energy sources(RESs)is gradually gaining weight in the research field due to the benefits it presents to the modern-day *** only does energy forecasting using renewable energy sources help mitigate the greenhouse effect,it also helps to conserve energy for future *** the years,several methods for energy forecasting have been proposed,all of which were more concerned with the accuracy of the prediction models with little or no considerations to the operating *** research,however,proposes the uses of Deep Neural Network(DNN)for energy forecasting on mobile devices at the edge of the *** ensures low latency and communication overhead for all energy forecasting operations since they are carried out at the network ***,the cloud would be used as a support for the mobile devices by providing permanent storage for the locally generated data and a platform for offloading resource-intensive computations that exceed the capabilities of the local mobile devices as well as security for *** network topology was proposed which allows seamless incorporation of multiple RESs into the distributed renewable energy source(DRES)***,a novel grid control algorithm that uses the forecasting model to administer a wellcoordinated and effective control for renewable energy sources(RESs)in the electrical network is *** electrical network was simulated with two RESs and a DNN model was used to create a forecasting model for the simulated *** model was trained using a dataset from a solar power generation company in Belgium(elis)and was experimented with a different number of layers to determine the optimum architecture for performing the forecasting *** performance of each architecture was evaluated using the mean square error(MSE)and the r-square.

Advanced surface coil layout with intrinsic noise cancellation properties for surface-NMR applications

A recent study demonstrated that in small-scale prepolarized surface nuclear magnetic resonance(SNMR-PP)measurements with a footprint of a few square meters,customized PP switch-off ramps can serve as an efficient excitation mechanism,eliminating the requirement for a conventional oscillating excitation *** approach enables the detection of short relaxation signals from the unsaturated soil zone and can,therefore,be used to directly provide soil moisture and pore geometry *** ultimately such small-scale SNMR-PP setups are intended for a mobile application,it is necessary to develop strategies that allow for speedy measurement progress and do not require noise cancellation protocols based on reference ***,we developed a new concentric figure-of-eight(cFOE)loop layout that combines the direction independence of a circular loop with the intrinsic noise cancellation properties of a classical *** approach significantly decreases the measurement time because suitable signal-to-noise ratios are reached much faster compared to a classical circular loop and will bring us one step further toward fast and non-invasive soil moisture mapping applications.

An Unconventional Divergence Preserving Finite-Volume Discretization of Lagrangian Ideal MHD

We construct an unconventional divergence preserving discretization of updated Lagrangian ideal magnetohydrodynamics(MHD)over simplicial *** cell-centered finite-volume(FV)method employed to discretize the conservation laws of volume,momentum,and total energy is rigorously the same as the one developed to simulate hyperelasticity *** construction this moving mesh method ensures the compatibility between the mesh displacement and the approximation of the volume flux by means of the nodal velocity and the attached unit corner normal vector which is nothing but the partial derivative of the cell volume with respect to the node coordinate under *** is precisely the definition of the compatibility with the Geometrical Conservation Law which is the cornerstone of any proper multi-dimensional moving mesh FV *** momentum and the total energy fluxes are approximated utilizing the partition of cell faces into sub-faces and the concept of sub-face force which is the traction force attached to each sub-face impinging at a *** observe that the time evolution of the magnetic field might be simply expressed in terms of the deformation gradient which characterizes the Lagrange-to-Euler *** this framework,the divergence of the magnetic field is conserved with respect to time thanks to the Piola ***,we solve the fully compatible updated Lagrangian discretization of the deformation gradient tensor for updating in a simple manner the cell-centered value of the magnetic ***,the sub-face traction force is expressed in terms of the nodal velocity to ensure a semi-discrete entropy inequality within each *** conservation of momentum and total energy is recovered prescribing the balance of all the sub-face forces attached to the sub-faces impinging at a given *** balance corresponds to a vectorial system satisfied by the nodal *** always admits a unique solution which provides the nodal velocit

A cost driven predictive maintenance policy for structural airframe maintenance

Airframe maintenance is traditionally performed at scheduled maintenance *** decision to repair a fuselage panel is based on a fixed crack size threshold,which allows to ensure the aircraft safety until the next scheduled maintenance *** progress in sensor technology and data processing techniques,structural health monitoring（SHM） systems are increasingly being considered in the aviation *** systems track the aircraft health state continuously,leading to the possibility of planning maintenance based on an actual state of aircraft rather than on a fixed *** paper builds upon a model-based prognostics framework that the authors developed in their previous work,which couples the Extended Kalman filter（EKF） with a firstorder perturbation（FOP） *** using the information given by this prognostics method,a novel cost driven predictive maintenance（CDPM） policy is proposed,which ensures the aircraft safety while minimizing the maintenance *** proposed policy is formally derived based on the trade-off between probabilities of occurrence of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.A numerical case study simulating the maintenance process of an entire fleet of aircrafts is *** the condition of assuring the same safety level,the CDPM is compared in terms of cost with two other maintenance policies：scheduled maintenance and threshold based SHM *** comparison results show CDPM could lead to significant cost savings.

Single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes(SIPEs)can be formed by anchoring charge delocalized anions on the side chains of a crosslinked polymer matrix,thereby eliminating the severe concentration polarization efect in conventional dual-ion polymer *** of a plasticizer into the polymer matrix confers advantages of both liquid and solid ***,plasticized SIPEs usually face a trade-of between conductivity and mechanical *** insufcient strength,potentially there is short-circuiting failure during *** address this challenge,a simple and mechanicallyrobust SIPE was developed by crosslinking monomer lithium(4-styrenesulfonyl)(trifuoromethylsulfonyl)imide(LiSTFSI)and crosslinker poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate(PEGDA),with plasticizer propylene carbonate(PC),on electrospun polyacrylonitrile nanofbers(PAN-NFs).The well-fabricated polymer matrix provided fast and efective Li^(+) conductive pathways with a remarkable ionic conductivity of 8.09×10^(-4) S cm^(−1) and a superior lithium-ion transference number close to unity(t_(Li+)=0.92).The introduction of PAN-NFs not only improved the mechanical strength and fexibility but also endowed the plasticized SIPE with a wide electrochemical stability window(4.9 V ***^(+)/Li)and better cycling *** longterm lithium cycling stability and dynamic interfacial compatibility were demonstrated by lithium symmetric cell *** importantly,the assembled all-solid-state Li metal batteries showed stable cycling performance and remarkable rate capability both in low and high current ***,this straightforward and mechanically reinforced SIPE exhibits great potential in the development of advanced all-solid-state Li-metal batteries.

Sarcomas are malignant tumors that are characterized by a wide diversity of subtypes with various cytogenetic profiles. Despite major treatment breakthroughs, standard treatment modalities combining chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery failed to improve overall survival. Therefore, high expectations are foreseen with immunotherapy upon its maturation and better understanding of its mechanism of action. This paper presents a targeted review of the published data and ongoing clinical trials in immunotherapies of sarcomas, mainly adoptive cell therapies, cancer vaccines and immune checkpoint inhibitors.
