The binary Mg-Ca alloys are drawing increasing attention as temporary implant materials because of their excellent biocompatibility,biodegradability, and good mechanical properties. However, their applications are limited due to their high degradation rates in the human physiological environment, the consequent release of hydrogen gas, and rapid loss in mechanical properties. Furthermore, biocompatibility depends upon the degradability of the material. Various researchers have demonstrated that these issues can be addressed by control of Ca content, thermo-mechanical processing to obtain suitable microstructures, deposition of surface coatings, etc. In this manuscript, a detailed review of published literature on Mg-Ca alloys is presented. The challenges and future directions of research in this area are also described.

Viper bite envenomation represents a significant occupational hazard among agricultural work.rs in *** viper bite envenomation is usually suspected when a patient presents with predominant local symptoms at the bitten site,including pain,swelling,and ***,systemic findings such as diffuse intravascular coagulation,hypotension,and shock.may alert physicians of viper bite envenomation rather than a neurotoxic snak. ***,cerebral complications are rare in viper bites but may potentially *** nervous system involvement in a viper bite is either due to neurotoxins or hemorrhagins present in the venom,which may induce cerebral thrombosis,ischemia,infarction,and *** we present a case of a previously healthy adult male who succumbed to extensive subarachnoid,intracerebral,and intraventricular hemorrhages involving bilateral cerebral hemispheres following viper snak. bite *** report highlights the importance of anticipating cerebral complications in viper bite envenomation,a rare *** also emphasizes the need for early antisnak. venom administration to prevent and control systemic envenomation and its complications.

Back.round: Fracture shaft humerus is a major cause of morbidity in patients with upper extremity injuries. The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcome of interlock.ng nail in humeral shaft ***: This study was conducted in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery in SMS and R Sharda University from January 2010 to November 2013. Seventy-eight patients were recruited from emergency and out-patient department having a close fracture of humerus shaft. All patients were operated under general anesthesia and closed reamed interlock.ng nailing was done. All patients were followed for 9 ***: Out of 78 patients, 69 patients underwent union in 90–150 days with a mean of 110.68 days. Complications found in four patients who had nonunion, and five patients had delayed union, which was treated with bone grafting. All the patients were assessed clinically and radiologically for fracture healing, joint movements and implant failure. The results were excellent in 88.46% and good in 6.41% patients. Complete subjective, functional, and clinical recovery had occurred in almost 100% of the ***: The results of the present study indicates that in the presence of proper indications, reamed antegrade intramedullary interlock.d nailing appears to be a method of choice for internal fixation of osteoporotic and pathologic fractures.

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy of intramedullary k.rschner wires for the treatment of unstable tibial shaft fractures in children.;METHODS:This prospective study was conducted at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in Maharishi Mark.ndeshwar Medical College from June 2005 to June 2010. Sixty-six children having closed fracture of the tibial shaft with a mean age of 7.7 years (range, 2-14 years) were recruited from emergency and outpatient department. They were treated with percutaneous intramedullary k.rschner wires. The clinical results of our study were rated on the basis of the criteria of union, nonunion, delayed union or malunion. All children were followed for one year.;RESULTS:Children achieved union in a mean time of 8 week. (range, 6-10 week.). Postoperatively, three children (4.55%) had delayed union, one (1.52%) valgus deformity of lower leg, three (4.55%) post- operative k.ee pain and twelve (18.18%) sk.n irritation at pin *** were removed after 8-22 week. without any complications. No patient was lost to follow-up. The results were excellent in 95.45% and good in 4.55% children.;CONCLUSIONS:This technique is cost-effective, simple, quick.to perform, safe and reliable and avoids pro- longed hospitalization with good results.

Purpose–Forecasting of stock.indices is a challenging issue because stock.data are dynamic,non-linear and uncertain in *** of an accurate forecasting model is very much essential to predict the next-day closing prices of the stock.*** purpose of this paper is to develop an efficient and accurate forecasting model to predict the next-day closing prices of seven stock.***/methodology/approach–A novel strategy called quasi-oppositional symbiotic organisms search-based extreme learning machine(QSOS-ELM)is proposed to forecast the next-day closing prices *** in the prediction of closing price depends on output weights which are dependent on input weights and *** paper mainly deals with the optimal design of input weights and biases of the ELM prediction model using QSOS and SOS optimization ***–Simulation is carried out on seven stock.indices,and performance analysis of QSOS-ELM and SOS-ELM prediction models is done by tak.ng various statistical measures such as mean square error,mean absolute percentage error,accuracy and paired sample *** performance analysis reveals that the QSOS-ELM model outperforms the SOS-ELM model in predicting the next-day closing prices more accurately for all the seven stock.indices under ***/value–The QSOS-ELM prediction model and SOS-ELM are developed for the first time to predict the next-day closing prices of various stock.*** paired t-test is also carried out for the first time in literature to hypothetically prove that there is a zero mean difference between the predicted and actual closing prices.

Impact of TI Programmes Intervention under National AIDS Control Programme among Female Sex Work.rs in India: Evidence from Integrated Biological and Behavioural Survey, 2014-15

Back.round: A better understanding of the impact of Targeted Interventions (TI) services on Female Sex Work.r (FSW) behaviours can help in informing and strengthening future TI efforts under National AIDS Control Programme (NACP). Methods: National Integrated Biological and Behavioural Survey (IBBS) 2014-15 has been analysed in the paper. Descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis were used to understand factors affecting condom use. Propensity score matching (PSM) was done to understand the impact of the TI services on condom use at the last act and consistent condom use in the last three months among FSWs. Results: Younger FSWs aged 15 - 25 years were 1.4 times (95% CI: 1.04 - 1.77) more lik.ly to use consistent condoms in the last three months compared to older over 45 years after controlling for other socio-economic and programme variables. The matched samples estimate ATET i.e. the average treatment effect on treated for consistent condom use in the last three months shows that a 6.0% (CI: 4.7 - 7.3) increase in consistent condom use in the last three months in the FSWs who received information on STI/HIV from peer educator and outreach work.r. There is also a 6.0% (4.7 - 7.2) increase in condom use in the last act for FSWs who received the referral services at STI clinics, HIV testing, and detox centres. Conclusions: It is evident that the TI programme has a positive impact on behavior change among FSWs which can prove beneficial to curtail the spread of HIV to the partners and onward transmission to the general population.
