The effect of SiO2 nanoparticles derived from hydrothermal solutions on the performance of portland cement based materials

The nanoparticles of SiO2 were used in cement systems to modify the rheological behavior, to enhance the reactivity of supplementary cementitious materials, and also to improve the strength and durability. In this research, low-cost nano-SiO2 particles from natural hydrothermal solutions obtained by membrane ultrafiltration and, optionally, by cryochemical vacuum sublimation drying, were evaluated in portland cement based systems. The SiO2-rich solutions were obtained from the wells of Mutnovsky geothermal power station （Far East of Russia）. The constant nano-SiO2 dosage of 0.25% （as a solid material by weight of cementitious materials） was used to compare the cement systems with different nanoparticles against a reference mortar and a commercially available nano-SiO2. Nanoparticles were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction （XRD）, BET Surface Area, Scanning Electron Microscope （SEM） and Fourier Transform Infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy techniques. It was demonstrated that the addition of polycarboxylate ether superplasticizer and the dispersion treatment using an ultrasound processor can be used to facilitate the distribution ofnano-SiOz particles in the mixing water. The effect ofnano-SiO2 particles in portland cement mortars was investigated by evaluating the flow, heat of hydration and compressive strength development. It was demonstrated that the use ofnano- SiO2 particles can reduce the segregation and improve strength properties.

Photometric Studies of EV Cnc and AH Cnc in the Open Cluster M67

Contact binaries at various stages of evolution unveil various operating mechanisms that drive *** report the photometric and period variation analysis of two contact binaries EV Cnc and AH Cnc in open cluster *** observed the cluster from the JCBT 1.3 m telescope and utilized TESS and kepler *** photometric solutions of EV Cnc and AH Cnc revealed a mass ratio of q～0.41 and～0.15 with an inclination of i=42°and87°*** solutions suggest that EV Cnc is probably a semi-detached and AH Cnc is a deep low-mass ratio contact *** study of O-C variation analysis indicates that for both systems,the period is increasing which suggests the mass transfer is occurring from secondary to *** the case of AH Cnc and based on simulations by randomly varying the time of minima to fit the LITE solution,we noted the third body orbital period to be around P3=26.82±2.54 yr,which is different from earlier reported values and conclude that future observations are required to confirm this *** compare these two systems with other similar contact binaries to get an estimate of the final configuration of the respective systems.

Repercussion of salinity on hematological parameters and tissue morphology of gill and kidney at early life of tilapia

This study was attempted to reveal the changes in three hematological parameters such as blood hemoglobin,number of white blood cells(WBCs)and number of red blood cells(RBCs)and one biochemical(e.g.,glucose)parameter along with the changes in histomorphological structures of gills and kidney of Nile tilapia fry reared in saline *** experimental set up were used for two different age groups-5 days-after-hatch(5DAH)and 15 days-after-hatch(15DAH)-to test a novel hypothesis:if a little difference in the age during the first exposure to saline water could produce any variation in the *** were placed into 6 plastic drums having six different salinity levels:0,5,10,15,20 and *** 60 days,at least 5 individuals were taken out from each drum to observe the above-hematological and histomorphological parameters.A two-way-ANOVA revealed that,except for hemoglobin,all the observed parameters have been affected the effect of age×salinity interaction(Pge groups,only the overall average glucose value and RBC count were significantly *** various salinity levels,only RBC and WBC counts differed ***,the mean glucose value,RBC counts and WBC count at different salinities differed significantly from the base mean value of each *** regard to the histomorphological structure of the gills and kidney,various malformations were *** hypertrophy,epithelial uplifting and epithelial necrosis were present as gill degenerations,hyperplasia was prevalent across almost all salinity *** the other hand,glomerular necrosis,pyknotic nucleus,hyaline droplets degeneration,shrinking of the glomeruli,*** observed in kidney *** assisting to understand the effects of salinity stress,all these data on tilapia fry will help to determine the prospects and scope of culturing the species in high-salinity water.

In recent years,Peripheral blood smear is a generic analysis to assess the person’s health *** testing of Peripheral blood smear images are difficult,time-consuming and is subject to human intervention and visual *** method encouraged for researchers to present algorithms and techniques to perform the peripheral blood smear analysis with the help of computer-assisted and decision-making *** CAD based methods are lacks in attaining the accurate detection of abnormalities present in the *** order to mitigate this issue Deep Convolution Neural Network(DCNN)based automatic classification technique is introduced with the classification of eight groups of peripheral blood cells such as basophil,eosinophil,lymphocyte,monocyte,neutrophil,erythroblast,platelet,myocyte,promyocyte and *** proposed DCNN model employs transfer learning approach and additionally it carries three stages such as pre-processing,feature extraction and *** the pre-processing steps are incorporated to eliminate noisy contents present in the image by using Histogram Equalization(HE).It is enclosed to improve an image *** order to distinguish the dissimilar class and segmentation approach is carried out with the help of Fuzzy C-Means(FCM)model whereas its centroid point optimality method with Slap Swarm based optimization *** some specific set of gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix(gLCM)features of the segmented images are extracted to augment the performance of proposed detection *** the extracted features are recorded by DCNN and the proposed classifier has the capability to extract their own *** on this the diverse set of classes are classified and distinguished from qualitative abnormalities found in the image.

Optical and X-Ray Studies of Marginal Contact Binary RW Dor Using TESS and XMM-Newton Observatories

Marginal short-period contact binaries are important to understand as they pose a different physical scenario than the predicted theoretical model based on the thermal relaxation oscillation mechanism due to their shallow degree of *** we present the optical and X-ray studies of a contact binary source RW Dor using the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite(TESS)and XMM-Newton *** the first time we report the varying O'Connell effect and explain the asymmetry with a spot *** on the new times of minima,we make a robust estimate of the orbital period of the third body at 47.01~0.52 yr with an eccentricity e=*** show that the period-decreasing trend observed in O-C variation can be explained by both conservative mass transfer from primary to secondary and AML via stellar *** X-ray luminosity exhibited by RW Dor did not vary significantly on three different occasions and was found to be about 3.34×10~(29)erg s~(-1).Assuming that the quiescent X-ray emission is emitted from an undisturbed loop structure,the loop size is estimated to be 0.6-1×10~(10)cm which is≤Alfvén radius r_A~8×10~(10)cm.

Evaluating spatial and elevation-wise daytime/nighttime LST trends across the Indus River Basin

Land surface temperature(LST)is a crucial parameter for understanding the Earth's surface energy balance,which provides insights into climate dynamics and local environmental ***,the present study aims to evaluate the spatial and elevation-wise trends in the daytime,nighttime,and mean LST across the Indus River Basin(IRB)using MODIS 8-day product for the period between 2002 and *** elevation,cloud cover,and land cover type data are used for explaining the emerging LST *** Theil slope estimator and Mannkendall significance test were used for estimating the seasonal and annual LST *** findings show warming in mean daytime(0.020-0.024℃/yr)(except winter and post-monsoon),nighttime(0.013-0.049℃/yr),and mean(0.001-0.042℃/yr)LST in all the seasons(highest in monsoon).The annual mean nighttime LST(0.025℃/yr)is rising significantly faster than the mean daytime LST(0.0016℃/yr),showing the presence of a“nighttime warming effect”,which possibly increases human discomfort,particularly during the warm pre-monsoon and humid monsoon ***-dependent warming(EDW)is predominant in mean daytime LST in two elevation zones,namely(i)0-3 km and(ii)above 4 km,in all seasons,except in *** contrast,EDW in mean nighttime LST is observed up to 3 km and above 6 km in the basin in all the seasons,excluding *** warming trend in LST may be attributed to rising atmospheric moisture,cloud cover,declining snow cover,and changes in land cover to non-vegetated ***,further investigations will involve exploring the underlying factors contributing to the observed anomalies in nighttime LST,considering variables such as regional energy balance and atmospheric *** research contributes to an understanding of the thermal dynamics in the mountain basin,aiding in climate studies,land management,and the development of effective adaptation strategies in the IRB.

Microwave assisted synthesis of poly（2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate） grafted agar （Ag-g-P（HEMA）） and its application as a flocculant for wastewater treatment

Poly（2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate） chains were grafted onto the backbone of agar using a microwave assisted method involving a combination of microwave irradiation and ceric ammonium nitrate to initiate the grafting reaction. The synthesized graft copolymers were characterized by intrinsic viscosity measurements, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis （C, H, N, O and S） and scanning electron microscopy. Ag-g-P （HEMA）-2 showed a much higher flocculation efficacy than agar. The optimized dosage of flocculation for Ag-g-P （HEMA）-2 in the wastewater was found to be 0.75 ppm. Compared to agar, Ag-g-P（HEMA）-2 was found to considerably reduce the pollutant load in the wastewater.
