Effect of titanium dioxide （TiO2） and carbon additives in the respective positive and negative material properties and the influence on the performance of the battery were investigated. The electrode samples were characterized by BET （Brunauer Emmett Teller）, XRD （X-ray diffractometer）, SEM （scanning electron microscopy） and EIS （electrochemical impedance spectroscopy） to understand the surface area, phase, structure, morphology and electrical conductivity of the respective electrode material. The surface area was obtained as 2.312 m2＂g＂l and 0.892 m2＂g＂1, respectively for 12% of activated carbon in the expander of negative and 0.70% of TiO2 （Titanium dioxide） in the PAM （positive active material）. The structural analysis reveals an increase in the tetrabasic lead sulfate and also evidenced by well grown crystals in the PAM with the TiO2, respectively obtained by XRD and SEM techniques. The impedance spectra analysis shows an increase of electrical conductivity of negative active mass with temperature. The battery results showing two fold enhancements in the charge acceptance were attributed to the high surface area activated carbon in the NAM （negative active material）. The materials properties of electrodes and their influence on the battery performance were discussed.

Beryllium aluminum cyclosilicate, an ore of beryllium was reinforced in Aluminum matrix to fabricate Al-beryl composites using powder metallurgy. Effect of the content of beryllium aluminum cyclosilicate on microstructural hardness and thermal expansion was studied. The coefficient of thermal expansion of Al-beryl composite was measured in the temperature range between 50oC to 360oC using dilatometer and was theoretically studied using thermo-elastic models, and these models were used to explain abnormalities observed experimentally. The hardness of Al-beryl metal matrix composites increased with the increase in beryl percentage. Vacuum sintering of Al-beryl metal matrix composites at 600oC inhibited excellent bonding between the matrix and the particulate increasing the strength of the composite. The result shows the CTE significantly increased with increasing temperature but decreased with increasing reinforcement. At higher temperatures, CTE of Al-beryl metal matrix composites with 5 wt%, 10 wt% and 15 wt% of beryllium aluminum cyclosilicate was 21 ppm/K, 18.2 ppm/K, and 16.8 ppm/K. The CTE values were found to be comparable with theoretical results. The turner model showed conformance with experimental results, was well suited to the experimental results.

Coronaviruses are a diverse group of viruses that infect both animals and *** though the existence of coronavirus and its infection to humans is not new,the 2019-novel coronavirus(nCoV)caused a major burden to individuals and society i.e.,anxiety,fear of infection,extreme competition for hospitalization,and more importantly financial *** nCoV infection/disease diagnosis was based on non-specific signs and symptoms,biochemical parameters,detection of the virus using reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction(RTPCR),and X-ray-based *** review focuses on the consolidation of potentials of X-ray-based imaging modality[chest-X radiography(CXR)and chest computed tomography(CT)]and low-dose radiation therapy(LDRT)for screening,severity,and management of COVID-19 *** studies suggest that CXR contributed significantly toward initial rapid screening/diagnosis and CT-imaging to monitor the disease *** chest CT has high sensitivity up to 98%and low specificity for diagnosis and severity of COVID-19 disease compared to ***,LDRT compliments drug therapy in the early recovery/Less hospital stays by maintaining the physiological parameters better than the drug therapy *** the results undoubtedly demonstrated the evidence that X-ray-based technology continues to evolve and play a significant role in human health care even during the pandemic.

Vilsmeier Haack Adducts as Effective Reagents for Regioselective Nitration of Aromatic Compounds under Conventional and Non-Conventional Conditions

Nitration of aromatic Compounds is triggered by Vilsmeier-Haack reagent (DMF/POCl3) or (DMF/SOCl2) in the presence of KNO3 or NaNO2 under conventional and non-conventional conditions. The reactions af- forded corresponding Nitro derivatives in very good yield with high regioselectivity. The results obtained in non-conventional methods (Micro wave irradiation, Grinding, Sonication) are comparable with those ob- tained under conventional conditions, but the reaction times of former conditions are substantially shorter than that of the latter.

Solvent – free Mortar-pestle (grinding) and microwave-assisted nitration reactions (MWANR’s) underwent smoothly in the presence of group V and VI metal salts with high regio-selectivity for anilides, moderately- and non-activated aro-matic compounds. The reactions were conducted under solvent-free conditions, which afforded good to excellent yields. The observed reaction times in MW assisted conditions are in the range of only few minutes.

Simultaneous Determination of Atorvastatin and Glimepiride by LC-MS/MS in Human Plasma and Its Application to a Pharmacokinetic Study

The aim of the proposed research work was to develop and validate a simple, selective high sensitive and high-throughput assay for the simultaneous estimation of Atorvastatin and Glimepiride in human plasma using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Atorvastatin–Glimepiride combines a competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase and a sulfonylurea anti-diabetic drug. The purpose of this study was to develop single method for Atorvastatin and Glimepiride in plasma by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) that would result into a simultaneous estimation of Atorvastatin and Glimepiride avoiding acid –lactone inter conversions right from sample collections to analysis on the LC-MS/MS. Sample collection procedure optimized for Atorvastatin holds good for Glimepiride, hence resulting into a simultaneous estimation of Atorvastatin and Glimepiride. Liquid-liquid extraction and liquid chromatography coupled to positive ion mode tandem mass spectrometry was used to develop the method and was validated according to US FDA guidelines. The calibration curves for two analytes were linear (R2 ≥ 0.9950, n = 4) over the concentration range of 0.2 - 30 ng/mL for Atorvastatin and 1 - 250 ng/mL for Glimepiride. Mean extraction recoveries 80.34 ± 9.43 for Atorvastatin and 88.19 ± 7.13 for Glimepiride. Intra- and inter-run mean percent accuracy was between 85% - 115% and percent imprecision was ≤15%. Stability studies revealed that Atorvastatin and Glimepiride were stable in plasma during bench top (10.5 h at room temperature), in Injector (47.5 h), at the end of three successive freeze and thaw cycles and long term at -65℃ ± 15℃ for 114 days. The method was successfully applied to the study of pharmacokinetics of Atorvastatin and Glimepiride in healthy volunteers. 1 引言在遥感影象数据分析中,最重要的任务之一就是把影象数据分成不同的地物类型,如土壤、水体和岩石等。在与政策有关的情况下,可能还需要诸如淹没面积,某种作物面积或海岸线长度这样一些准确的定量信息。这种准确的定量信息只有通过使用模式识别(PR)法则才能获得(Tou和Gonzales 1974)。实际上,影象分类是在纯场地和纯象元基础两种情况下实现的。纯场地分类,是将一个小的均一地区(一组彼此相邻的象元)看作所有象元均具有某种状况来进行分类。

Acetylation and benzoylation reactions of certain aromatic aldehydes, ketones with Vilsmeier-Haack Re- agents using Acetamide and Oxychloride (SOCl2 or POCl3) under conventional (thermal) and non conven- tional [microwave irradiated (MIR), ultrasonic assisted and solvent free mortar pestle (grinding)] conditions. Reactions afforded good to excellent yields of products with both the VH reagents, reaction times were fairly less in the case of [amide/POCl3] than those of [amide/SOCl2] reagent. Reactions are dramatically acceler- ated in under sonicated and microwave irradiations with a trend: MIR (few seconds) >> Sonication (minutes) > Grinding (min) >> thermal (several hrs).

制备蛋清（A）和明胶（B）的复合物，其产物可作为可生物降解的粘合剂。现将AB复合产物与戊二醛（C）交联形成复合物ABC。将制备好的ABC用FT-IR、TGA、CD光谱表征并检测其拉伸强度。在拉伸强度检测试验过程中，测试速度为5mm／min。结果表明：在40MPa下，体积比为AB：C=50：1，延长率为170％时，复合物ABC表现出的拉伸强度最佳。采用圆二色谱检测复合物结构，其光谱范围是185-250nm。检测结果表明：AB复合物中发现了螺旋结构，这说明存在肽键，而在ABC复合物中发现了无规卷曲，原本复合物AB的光谱在197nm处的负峰消失，说明螺旋结构转为了无规卷曲，戊二醛与AB复合物成功交联。采用红外光谱对复合物进行检测，结果发现：AB复合物红外光谱在1654cm^-1（酰胺I），1561cm^-1（酰胺Ⅱ），1244cm^-1（酰胺Ⅲ）处出现了蛋白质峰，而ABC复合物的红外光谱中酰胺Ⅲ缺失。这是由于戊二醛和氨基交联导致。对复合物进行热重分析，结果表明：AB复合物在235-400℃．失重就达到60％而ABC复合物在235-375℃的失重率仅有8％。对样品进行吸水性研究．结果表明：AB复合物在吸水不到1h就被溶解了．而ABC复合物在吸水24h后任然完好无损，1h后吸水率为173％。2h后吸水率为233％，3h后吸水率为245％，24h后吸水率为153％。ABC复合物在一张皮革表面进行标准涂饰来检测其剥离强度。结果表明在干燥条件下剥离强度为4．8N／mm，而在湿润条件下剥离强度为3．2N／mm。因此，ABC复合物有着优异的性能，可以用作皮革涂饰材料。
