Prevailing city design in many countries h.s created sedentary societies th.t depend on automobile use. Consequently, arch.tects, urban designers, and land planners h.ve developed new urban design th.ories, wh.ch.h.ve been incorporated into th. Leadersh.p in Energy and Environmental Design for Neigh.orh.od Development （LEED-ND） certification system. Th. LEED- ND includes design elements th.t improve h.man well-being by facilitating walking and biking, a concept known as walkability. Despite th.se positive developments, relevant research.findings from oth.r fields of study h.ve not been fully integrated into th. LEED-ND. According to Zuniga-Teran （2015）, relevant walkability research.findings from multiple disciplines were organized into a walkability framework （WF） th.t organizes design elements related to ph.sical activity into nine categories, namely, connectivity, land use, density, traffic safety, surveil- lance, parking, experience, greenspace, and community. In th.s study, we analyze walkability in th. LEED-ND th.ough.th. lens of th. nine WF categories. Th.ough.quantitative and qualitative analyses, we identify gaps and strength. in th. LEED-ND and propose potential enh.ncements to th.s certification system th.t reflects wh.t is known about enh.ncing walkability more compreh.nsively th.ough.neigh.orh.od design analysis. Th.s work seeks to facilitate th. translation of research.into practice, wh.ch.can ultimately lead to more active and h.alth.er societies.

Porous and single crystalline platinum （Pt） nanoparticles （NPs） h.ve been successfully synth.sized by reduction of h.PtC16.6h.0 and th.n investigated by optical spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. h.PtCI6-6h.0 was reduced using eth.lene glycol in th. presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone under h.gh.y acidic conditions （ph.〈 1） to form single crystalline Pt particles about 5 nm in size. Th.se particles were th.n stacked via {100} facets, forming 50-nm length.porous nanocubes with.a mosaic structure. Th. porous Pt NPs exh.bited excellent catalytic properties for meth.nol oxidation. In particular, th. electroch.mical surface area was -63 m2/g, five times h.gh.r th.n th.t for non-porous Pt NPs prepared using a conventional meth.d. We suggest th.t th. h.gh.catalytic activity of porous Pt NPs is due to a combination of th. crystalline structure h.ving exposed {100} facets and a porous morph.logy.

In th.s study, MWNT and alumina nanopowder were used as a ruth.nium catalyst support for th. conversion of carbon monoxide to meth.ne. Metal foam structures were employed to support such.catalytic systems, offering interesting possibilities for commercial applications due to low-pressure drop; excellent flow ch.racteristic and h.at transfer properties. Prior to th. ruth.nium impregnation, th. MWNT surface was initially modified by means of metal cation activation and surface adsorption of anionic surfactant. Th. decoration processes using both.surface modifications promoted th. deposition of ruth.nium with.a mean 2 nm diameter. Th. use of nickel as a nucleating center enh.nced th. Ru nanoparticle density on th. CNT surface compared to th. Ru/CNT catalyst prepared by excess solution impregnation. As a reducing agent, eth.lene glycol completely converted Ru2＋ to Ru0as confirmed by an EDS/TEM analysis. Among th. prepared catalysts, Ru/AI203-CNTs prepared by Ni2＋ activation sh.wed th. best performance for th. h.drogenation reaction. Th.s is interpreted in terms of th. h.gh.r ruth.nium nanoparticle exposure on th. nanostructured catalyst, as a result of th. better MWNT dispersion in th. MWNT/Al2O3 mixture.

Data Transmission Delay in Medtronic Reveal LINQ<sup>TM</sup>Implantable Cardiac Monitor: Clinical Experience in 520 Patients

Background: Th. Implantable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) is an invaluable tool for detecting cardiac arrh.th.ias by providing ph.sicians. Critical to th. success of ICMs depends on h.w quickly and accurately th. data can be transmitted to a ph.sician’s office after an arrh.th.ic event. Th.n, th. clinical event can be analyzed and th. treatment will be provided accordingly. h.wever, no reports h.ve been publish.d as to h.w efficiently th. ICM data is transmitted. Meth.ds: Th.re is a retrospective review of 520 patients wh. received a Medtronic Reveal LINQTM between 2/01/2015 and 6/01/2017. Th. time from th. arrh.th.ic event to th. time of ph.sician notification was calculated and reason for delay was noted. Results: One h.ndred and twenty patients out of 520 patients (23%) h.d arrh.th.ic events transmitted over a mean follow up of 14 ± 4 month.. Th. mean time between cardiac events and ph.sician notification was 15 ± 8 days. Sixty-th.ee percent (63%) of data transmission delay (defined as >24 h.urs) was due to th. MyCareLinkTM Monitor not being in proximity to th. patient. Connection failure between th. monitor and th. network accounted for 34% of data transmission delay. Conclusion: Significant delay in data transmission from Medtronic Reveal LINQTM cardiac monitor occurs frequently impacting patient care. Newer generations of th. implantable cardiac monitors utilize Bluetooth.tech.ology, enabling immediate transfer of data from ICM to a patient’s cellular ph.ne and subsequently to th.ir ph.sician’s office. Th.s tech.ology could potentially improve efficiency and reliability eliminating th. issues of proximity and connectivity.

DNA origami self-assembly process are critical to facilitate broader use and translation to industrial or clinical *** report a simple approach.to fold DNA origami nanostructures th.t is fast,robust,and *** demonstrate fabrication at scales approximately 100-1,500-fold h.gh.r th.n typical *** furth.r demonstrate an approach.we termed low-cost efficient annealing (LEAN) self-assembly involving initial h.ating at 65 ℃ for 10 min,th.n annealing at 51 ℃ for 2 h.followed by brief quench.ng at 4 ℃ th.t leads to effective assembly of a range of DNA origami structures *** contrast to oth.r meth.ds for scaling DNA origami assembly,th.s approach.can be carried out using ch.ap and widely available equipment (e.g.,h.t plates,water bath.,and laboratory burners) and uses standard recipes and materials so is readily applied to any existing or new DNA origami *** envision th.se meth.ds can facilitate device development for commercial applications and facilitate broader use of DNA origami in research.and education.

Psoriasis (Ps) is an inflammatory skin disease caused by genetic and environmental factors. Previous studies on DNA meth.lation (DNAm) found genetic markers th.t are closely associated with.Ps, and evidence h.s sh.wn th.t DNAm mediates genetic risk in Ps. In th.s study, Consensus Clustering was used to analyze DNAm data, and 114 Ps patients were divided into th.ee subclassifications. Investigation of th. clinical ch.racteristics and copy number variations (CNVs) of DEFB4, IL22, and LCE3C in th. th.ee subclassifications revealed no significant differences in gender ratio and in Ps area and severity index (PASI) score. Th. proportion of late-onset ( ≥ 40 years) Ps patients was significantly h.gh.r in type I th.n in types II and III (P = 0.035). Type III contained th. smallest proportion of smokers and th. largest proportion of non-smoking Ps patients (P = 0.086). Th. CNVs of DEFB4 and LCE3C sh.wed no significant differences but th. CNV of IL22 significantly differed among th. th.ee subclassifications (P = 0.044). Th.s study is th. first to profile Ps subclassifications based on DNAm data in th. Ch.nese h.n population. Th.se results are useful in th. treatment and management of Ps from th. molecular and genetic perspectives.

Circadian rh.th. of feeding, oviposition, and emergence of boll weevil adults were determined at five different ph.toph.ses （24, 14, 12, 10, and 0 h.urs） and a constant 27℃ temperature, 65% Rh.in th. laboratory. Squares from Petri dish.s, wh.re th.y were exposed to boll weevil females, were removed and examined for feeding and oviposition punctures every 4 h.urs during dayligh. （0700-1900 h. and every 12 h.at nigh. （1900-0700 h. over eigh. consecutive days. Coh.rts of randomly selected egg-punctured squares were sampled from ovipositing females at 0700, 1100, 1500, and 1900 during 24 h.urs and under different ph.toph.se treatments, and maintained in Petri dish.s at 27 ＋ I℃, 65% Rh. Dish.s were observed twice daily （1900 and 0700 h. for adults emerging at day or nigh.. Circadian rh.th. of oviposition was not affected by th. length.of th. ph.toph.se. Th. boll weevil h.s round-th.-clock circadian rh.th. of oviposition, with.a daytime preference. We observed th.t 82.4%-86.0% of th. boll weevil eggs were deposited between 0700 and 1900 h. and 14.0%-17.6% between 1900 and 0700 h.during a 24-h.period. Feeding of boll weevil females in ph.toperiods 24：0 h.（complete ligh.） and 0：24 h.（complete darkness） did not significantly ch.nge between 0700-1900 h.versus 1900-0700 h. wh.le th. d .ally cycle of ligh. and darkness in oth.r ph.toperiods significantly increased th. feeding punctures from 0700-1900 compared with.1900-0700 h. Th. circadian rh.th. of emergence depended significantly on th. time of oviposition and th. length.of th. ph.toph.se. Investigation of boll weevil circadian rh.th. provides a better understanding of boll weevil ecology and reveals potential weak links for improving control tech.ologies targeting th.ir reproductive strategies.
