Quantifying Effects of Photoperiod, Temperature and Humidity on Flowering Initiation in Basmati Rice Lines

The results suggested that all the pure Basmati lines or genotypes initiate flowering within a specific range of day length duration and temperature. Delaying the transplanting date did not significantly affect the flowering time of studied Basmati lines. Maximum threshold of daily minimum temperature (MT) was 24°C during both the years. Likewise, maximum threshold of daily day-length (DL) durations was 12 hours and 18 minutes during both the study years. Results showed that the flowering was maximum when the MT and DL values were optimum as depicted by peak of the trend lines, where maximum lines flowered. Maximum flowering initiations took place when DL was about 11 hours and 15 minutes indicating Basmati as short day plant which flowers maximum when day lengths are shorter and dark or night duration is longer. During 2013, 1st date trial showed strong relationship between flowering initiation with dates of flowering during the flowering period as depicted by higher regression (R2 = 0.837) values. In 2nd date trial during the same year, the value is lower (R2 = 0.513) depicting less relationship of flowering initiation with the dates of flowering. The same trend was observed in 2014 trial. In 1st date trial, strong relationship between flowering initiation with dates of flowering during the flowering period as depicted by higher regression (R2 = 0.864) values, was observed. In 2nd date trial during the same year, the value is lower (R2 = 0.1789) depicting very poor relationship of flowering initiation with the dates of flowering, and the same trend (R2 = 0.0544) in 3rd date of trial.

A fossil-bearing locality near Padhri village,Dhok Pathan,55 km away from the tehsil Dina,Jhelum District,in the Potwar Plateau,Middle Siwaliks,Punjab,northern Pakistan,is significantly rich in mammalian *** site has provided an abundant mammalian fossil fauna of Late Miocene age from the Dhok Pathan Formation(Fm.).The recovered material belongs to four families:Equidae(horses),Rhinocerotidae(rhinos),Bovidae(cows),and Suidae(pigs).We discovered a new skull of hipparionine Hipparion theobaldi from this locality along with 22 specimens from the associated assemblage of fossil *** recovered material includes seven other species:the aceratheriine Chilotherium intermedium,boselaphines Tragoportax punjabicus,Selenoportax vexillarius,Pachyportax latidens,the antelope Gazella lydekkeri and suinine Propotamochoerus *** specimens are isolated teeth,fragments of maxilla,mandibles and horn *** Dhok Pathan *** generally composed of claystone,siltstone and sandstone beds and,based on the mammalian fauna,the Padhri fossil locality is dated as Late ***99 s formation was deposited in a subtropical paleoenvironment and the predominance of fossil bovids indicates extremely moist conditions with small but frequent standing water bodies.

Smartphones have ubiquitously integrated into our home and work environments,however,users normally rely on explicit but inefficient identification processes in a controlled ***,when a device is stolen,a thief can have access to the owner’s personal information and services against the stored *** a result of this potential scenario,this work proposes an automatic legitimate user identification system based on gait biometrics extracted from user walking patterns captured by smartphone sensors.A set of preprocessing schemes are applied to calibrate noisy and invalid samples and augment the gait-induced time and frequency domain features,then further optimized using a non-linear unsupervised feature selection *** selected features create an underlying gait biometric representation able to discriminate among individuals and identify them *** classifiers are adopted to achieve accurate legitimate user *** experiments on a group of 16 individuals in an indoor environment show the effectiveness of the proposed solution:with 5 to 70 samples per window,KNN and bagging classifiers achieve 87–99%accuracy,82–98%for ELM,and 81–94%for *** proposed pipeline achieves a 100%true positive and 0%false-negative rate for almost all classifiers.

Northern Koh Sulaiman foldbelt, Shirani, North and South Waziristan (South Punjab, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) comprised mostly PermoTriassic to Recent sediments with subordinate igneous and metamorphic rocks. These sedimentary strata folded and faulted by geodynamic and tectonic forces occurred during Late Cretaceous to Recent revealed through anticlinal and synclinal foldings and active faultings. The Northern Koh Sulaiman foldbelt, Shirani, North and South Waziristan areas host many economic minerals like copper and chromite, construction stones, marble limestones, gypsum and cement resources, uranium and other radioactive mineral resources, low-quality iron, phosphate and muddy coal, high-quality gemstones, petroleum potential and excellent water resources and many other rocks and minerals. High-quality window and faden quartz crystals deposited in fractures and fissures as vugs and veins deposited by high-temperature hypothermal solution created by the tectonic compression process. The area has economic chromite and magnesite deposits. The Northern Koh Sulaiman foldbelt, Shirani, North and South Waziristan areas have large cement raw materials/resources (limestones, gypsum and shale/clays available mostly on same sites) which vitally need to install many cement industries in these areas because the ideal central location and now only one cement industry (Dera Ghazi khan cement industry) is in operation. The Northern Koh Sulaiman foldbelt, Shirani, North and South Waziristan consists of excellent surface water resources which need the construction of smaller and medium-sized dams on different rud kohi/streams/rivers for the development of the area. Sakhi Sarwar area of Dera Ghazi khan (South Punjab) yielded fossil of new Tomistominae (False Gharial) Gavialidae and further its surroundings recently yielded fossils of famous vertebrates like reptiles (dinosaurs, crocodiles, pterosaur and snake), birds and mammals, and tracks/trackways of Late Cretaceous ar

Application of Electrodynamic Theory on Quantum Hall Effect

The quantum electrodynamic (QED) behaviour is studied for quantum Hall effect (QHE). Quantum theory with conjecture of fractional charge quantization (quantum dipole moment), eigenfunctions for fractional charge quantization at the surface of a twisted and twigged electron quanta and above its surface, fractional Fourier transform and Hermite function for fractional charge quantization is developed. With energy eigen value equation for QHE and with energy operator on an eigenfunction of a twisted and twigged electron quanta, the corresponding eigenfunctions are normalized with Schrodinger’s quantum wave mechanical equation for electric scalar and magnetic potentials, respectively (QED behavior). The fractional electric and magnetic fields with their corresponding potentials for the quantized fractional states in semiconducting hereto structures are theoretically calculated. Such mathematical expressions are in good agreement with experimental results of Nobel Prize winning scientists Klitzing, Haroche, Peter and Gruebber. Our results can also explain the hybridized states of orbits with emphasis on sigma and pi bonding and their corresponding antibonding orbitals as a manifestation of electrophilic and nucleophilic chemical reactions.
