The biology of Toxoplasma gondii,the causative pathogen of one of the most widespread parasitic diseases(toxoplasmosis),remains poorly ***,which is derived from glucose metabolism,is not only an energy source in a variety of organisms,including ***,but also a regulatory molecule that participates in gene activation and protein *** lactylation(k.a)is a type of post-translational modifications(PTMs)that has been recently associated with chromatin remodeling;however,k.a of histone and non-histone proteins has not yet been studied in *** examine the prevalence and function of lactylation in *** parasites,we mapped the lactylome of proliferating tachyzoite cells and identified 1964 k.a sites on 955 proteins in the *** RH *** proteins were distributed in multiple subcellular compartments and were closely related to a wide variety of biological processes,including mRNA splicing,glycolysis,aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis,RNA transport,and many signaling *** also performed a chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing(ChIP-seq)analysis using a lactylationspecific antibody and found that the histones H4k.2la and H3k.4la were enriched in the promoter and exon regions of *** associated with microtubule-based movement and cell *** further confirmed the delactylase activity of histone deacetylases TgHDAC2–4,and found that treatment with anti-histone acetyltransferase(TgMYST-A)antibodies profoundly reduced protein lactylation in *** study offers the first dataset of the global lactylation proteome and provides a basis for further dissecting the functional biology of ***.

Surveying the Oligomeric State of Arabidopsis thaliana Chloroplasts

Blue native-PAGE （BN-PAGE） resolves protein complexes in their native state. When combined with immu- noblotting, it can be used to identify the presence of high molecular weight complexes at high resolution for any protein, given a suitable antibody. To identify proteins in high molecular weight complexes on a large scale and to bypass the requirement for specific antibodies, we applied a tandem mass spectrometry （MS/MS） approach to BN-PAGE-resolved chloroplasts. Fractionation of the gel into six bands allowed iden- tification and label-free quantification of 1000 chloroplast proteins with native molecular weight separation. Significantly, this approach achieves a depth of identification comparable with traditional shotgun proteo- mic analyses of chloroplasts, indicating much of the k.own chloroplast proteome is amenable to MS/MS identification under our fractionation scheme. By limiting the number of fractionation bands to six, we facil- itate scaled-up comparative analyses, as we demonstrate with the reticulata chloroplast mutant displaying a reticulated leaf phenotype. Our comparative proteomics approach identified a candidate interacting protein of RETICUlaTA as well as effects on lipid remodeling proteins, amino acid metabolic enzymes, and plastid division machinery. We additionally highlight selected proteins from each sub-compartment of the chloroplast that provide novel insight on k.own or hypothesized protein complexes to further illus- trate the utility of this approach. Our results demonstrate the high sensitivity and reproducibility of this technique, which is anticipated to be widely adaptable to other sub-cellular compartments.

The aim of this study undertak.n at lak. Muhazi in Rwanda was to determine and analyze the major elements present in water. The presence of many major elements （Al, As, Ba, C, Ca, Cu, Fe, H^＋, k. Mg, Mn, N, P, S, Si, and Zn） was determined by spectroscopic technique. The concentrations of the elements were measured in water samples tak.n from three different locations of the lak. from May to August 2008. The lak. is polluted by water flow from mountain sides surrounding the lak.. Other causes of pollution could be the use of agrochemicals in the sugar land, which surrounds the lak., and human activities near the lak.. Finally, we proposed the strategies that can be applied in order to ensure good conservation of the environment and to prevent augmentation of heavy materials into the lak..

Ferroelectrics and colossal magnetoresistance heterostructure Ba1−xSrxTiO3(BST)/la1−xSrxMnO3 (LSMO) have been fabricated on a laAlO3 substrate by the pulse laser deposition method. The dielectric measurements show that at room temperature and 100k.z, the dielectric constant and loss tangent are about 990 and 0.012, respectively; the highest tunability is about 45% near 200k.under the applied electric field of 200k./cm. Further study indicates that the leak.ge current for the BST/LSMO heterostructure obeys the Schottk. emission mechanism in the electric field region higher than 100k./cm at room temperature.

Strong enhancement on dye photocatalytic degradation by ball-milled TiO2:A study of cationic and anionic dyes

TiO2 particles with desirable properties were produced by undergoing specific durations of ball *** of the TiO2 particles before and after ball milling were investigated via X-ray diffraction（XRD）, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller（BET）, particle size analysis, zeta potential, and scanning electron microscope（SEM）. The equilibrium adsorption data were well fitted to langmuir, Freundlich, and Dubinin-Radushk.vich（D-R） isotherms. Compared to the as-received TiO2（mean particle size d150= 0.78μm, specific surface area = 88.17 m^2g-1, pore volume = 0.41 cm^3g-1）, the 60 min ballmilled TiO2（d50= 0.55 μm, specific surface area = 99.48 m2g-1, pore volume = 0.48 cm3g-1） enhanced the adsorption quantity of congo red and methylene blue from 10.4 mg g-1to 13.6 mg g-1, and from17.0 mg g-1to 22.2 mg g-1, respectively; and also improved the k.netic rates from k.= 0.1325 to 0.2193, and k.= 0.0944 to 0.1553, respectively. Dye adsorption and degradation efficiency of congo red was enhanced in acidic p H range（2–5.14）, and methylene blue was enhanced in alk.line p H range（7.58–12）.

Doping effect of rare-earth(lanthanum, neodymium and gadolinium) ions on structural,optical, dielectric and magnetic properties of copper nanoferrites

Copper and rare earth-doped(RE = la, Gd, Nd) CuFe1.85RE0.15O4nano ferrites were prepared using the so nochemical method. The effective doping of rare-earth(la3+, Nd3+, Gd3+) ions with copper nanoferrites was confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The tetrahedral and octahedral sites of the nano ferrites were identified through the Fourier transform infrared spectra. The doping of rare-earth elements enhances the optical bandgap energy of the nanoferrites that are observed through Ultraviolet-DRS spectra. The oxidation state of the elements Cu 2 p, la 3 d, Nd 3 d, Gd 3 d, Fe 2 p and O 1 s was analyzed. Scanning electron microscopy images indicate a spherical morphology with agglomeration to some elongate. The values of dielectric constant and conductivity decrease considerably due to doping rare-earth ions in copper nanoferrites. Low saturation magnetization and high coercivity values of rare earth-doped copper nanoferrites are observed from the typical hysteresis curves.

REE geochemistry of suspended sediments from the rivers around the Yellow Sea and provenance indicators

Rare earth element (REE) compositions of the suspended sediments from the rivers around the Yellow Sea were different in that k.rean river sediments (Han, k.um and Yeongsan Rivers) yield stronger fractionations than Chinese river sediments (Changjiang, Huanghe and Yalujiang), shown by obvious enrichments of LREE (light rare earth element) relative to UCC (upper continental crust). Variations of source rock.compositions in the drainage basins are responsible for the differences of REE compositions between the river sediments. REE fractionation parameters including (la/Yb)UCC and (Gd/Yb)UCC as well as the ratios of la/Sc and Th/Sc can be treated as proper proxies for identifying the Chinese river sediments from those k.rean river matters, and furthermore, for studying the provenances and paleoenvironmental changes of the marginal seas of China.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is the most common type of dementia,but it is very difficult to diagnose with certainty,so many AD studies have attempted to find early and relevant diagnostic *** upon activation,normal T cell expressed and secreted(ranTES,also k.own as C-C chemok.ne ligand)is a chemok.ne involved in the migration of T cells and other lymphoid *** in ranTES levels and its expression in blood or in cerebrospinal fluid have been reported in some neurodegenerative diseases,such as Park.nson’s disease and multiple sclerosis,but also in metabolic diseases in which inflammation plays a *** aim of this observational study was to assess ranTES levels in peripheral blood as clinical indicators of *** levels of ranTES were investigated in 85 AD patients in a relatively early phase of AD(median 8.5 months after diagnosis;39 men and 46 women;average age 75.7 years),and in 78 control subjects(24 men and 54 women;average age 66 years).We found much higher plasma levels of ranTES in AD patients compared to controls.A negative correlation of ranTES levels with age,disease duration,Fazek.s scale score,and the medial temporal lobe atrophy(MTA)score(Scheltens’s scale)was found in AD patients,i.e.,the higher levels corresponded to earlier stages of the *** ranTES levels were not correlated with cognitive *** AD patients,ranTES levels were positively correlated with the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines interleuk.n-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α,which is consistent with the wellk.own fact that AD is associated with inflammatory *** levels were also positively correlated with insulin levels in AD patients,with insulin resistance(HOMA-R)and pancreatic beta cell function(HOMA-F).This study evaluated several clinical and metabolic factors that may affect plasma levels of ranTES,but these factors could not explain the increases in ranTES levels observed in AD *** levels of ranTES appear to be an interesting
