Breast cancer,a predominant global health issue,requires ongoing exploration of new therapeutic ***(PAL),a well-known cyclin-dependent kinase(CDK)inhibitor,plays a critical role in breast cancer *** its efﬁcacy is recognized,the interplay between PAL and cellular autophagy,particularly in the context of the RAF/MEK/ERK signaling pathway,remains insufﬁciently *** study investigates PAL’s inhibitory effects on breast cancer using both in vitro(MCF7 and MDA-MB-468 cells)and in vivo(tumor-bearing nude mice)*** at elucidating the impact of PAL on autophagic processes and exploring the potential of combining it with trametinib(TRA),an MEK inhibitor,our research seeks to address the challenge of PAL-induced drug ***ﬁndings reveal that PAL signiﬁcantly decreases the viability of MCF7 and MDA-MB-468 cells and reduces tumor size in mice while showing minimal cytotoxicity in MCF10A ***,PAL also induces protective autophagy,potentially leading to drug resistance via the RAF/MEK/ERK pathway *** TRA effectively neutralized this autophagy,enhancing PAL’s anti-tumor efﬁcacy.A combination of PAL and TRA synergistically reduced cell viability and proliferation,and in vivo studies showed notable tumor size *** conclusion,the PAL and TRA combination emerges as a promising strategy for overcoming PAL-induced resistance,offering a new horizon in breast cancer treatment.

Biological structural materials,despite consisting of limited kinds of compounds,display multifunctionalities due to their complex hierarchical *** some biomimetic strategies have been applied in artificial materials to enhance their mechanical stability,the simultaneous optimization of other functions along with the mechanical properties via biomimetic designs has not been thoroughly ***,iron oxide/carbon nanotube(CNT)-based artificial nacre with both improved mechanical and electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding performance is fabricated via the mineralization of Fe_(3)O_(4)onto a CNTincorporated *** micro-and nano-structures of the artificial nacre are similar to those of natural nacre,which in turn improves its mechanical *** alternating electromagnetic wave-reflective CNT layers and the wave-absorptive iron oxide layers can improve the multiple reflections of the waves on the surfaces of the reflection layers,which then allows sufficient interactions between the waves and the absorption ***,compared with the reflection-dependent EMI-shielding of the non-structured material,the artificial nacre exhibits strong absorption-dependent shielding behavior even with a very low content of wave-absorptive *** to the high mechanical stability,the shielding effectiveness of the artificial nacre that deeply cut by a blade is still maintained at approximately 70%−96%depending on the incident wave *** present work provides a new way for designing structural materials with concurrently enhanced mechanical and functional properties,and a path to combine structural design and intrinsic properties of specific materials via a biomimetic strategy.

The traditional method of screening plants for disease resistance phenotype is both time-consuming and *** selection offers a potential solution to improve efficiency,but accurately predicting plant disease resistance remains a *** this study,we evaluated eight different machine learning(ML)methods,including random forest classification(RFC),support vector classifier(SVC),light gradient boosting machine(lightGBM),random forest classification plus kinship(RFC_K),support vector classification plus kinship(SVC_K),light gradient boosting machine plus kinship(lightGBM_K),deep neural network genomic prediction(DNNGP),and densely connected convolutional networks(DenseNet),for predicting plant disease *** results demonstrate that the three plus kinship(K)methods developed in this study achieved high prediction ***,these methods achieved accuracies of up to 95%for rice blast(RB),85%for rice black-streaked dwarf virus(RBSDV),and 85%for rice sheath blight(RSB)when trained and applied to the rice diversity panel I(RDPI).Furthermore,the plus K models performed well in predicting wheat blast(WB)and wheat stripe rust(WSR)diseases,with mean accuracies of up to 90%and 93%,*** assess the generalizability of our models,we applied the trained plus K methods to predict RB disease resistance in an independent population,rice diversity panel II(RDPII).Concurrently,we evaluated the RB resistance of RDPII cultivars using spray *** the predictions with the spray inoculation results,we found that the accuracy of the plus K methods reached 91%.These findings highlight the effectiveness of the plus K methods(RFC_K,SVC_K,and lightGBM_K)in accurately predicting plant disease resistance for RB,RBSDV,RSB,WB,and *** methods developed in this study not only provide valuable strategies for predicting disease resistance,but also pave the way for using machine learning to streamline genome-based crop breeding.

Effects of Crosswise Appendage Plate Flexibility on the Drag Reduction Characteristics of Cylinder

In engineering applications (Like an ocean riser), fluid flow around bluff bodies generates substantial resistance, which can jeopardize structural integrity, lifespan, and escalate resource consumption. Therefore, employing drag reduction measures becomes particularly crucial. This paper employs the immersed boundary method to investigate the impact of transversely oriented appendage plate flexibility on the drag of cylinders under different Reynolds numbers and distances. The results indicate that flexible appendage plate exerts drag reduction effects on the downstream cylinder, with this effect gradually diminishing as Reynolds numbers increase. At identical Reynolds numbers, the drag reduction effect initially increases and then decreases with distance, with the optimal drag reduction distance observed at D = 2.5. Compared to cylinders without appendage plate, the maximum drag reduction achieved is 30.551%. Addressing the drag reduction issue in cylinders holds significant importance for ensuring engineering structural integrity, enhancing engineering efficiency, and developing novel underwater towing systems.

Phase-coherent multi-tone lasers play a critical role in atomic,molecular,and optical *** them,the Raman opeartion laser for manipulating atomic hyperfine qubits requires gigahertz bandwidth and low phase noise to retain long-term *** operation lasers generated by directly modulated and frequency-multipled infrared lasers are compact and stable but lack feedback control to actively suppress the phase noise,which limits their performance in practical *** this work,we employ a fiber electro-optical modulator driven by a voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO)to modulate a monochromatic laser and employ a second-harmonic generation process to convert it to the visible domain,where the beat note of the Raman operation laser is stabilized by controlling the output frequency of VCO with a digital phase-locked loop(PLL).The low-frequency phase noise is effectively suppressed compared to the scheme without active feedback and it reaches-80 d Bc/Hz@5 k Hz with a 20 k Hz loop ***,this compact and robust scheme effectively reduces the system's complexity and cost,which is promising for extensive application in atomic,molecular,and optical physics.
