BACKGROUND Posthepatectomy liver failure(PHLF)is one of the most important causes of death following liver resection.Heparin,an established anticoagulant,can protect liver function through a number of mechanisms,and thus,prevent liver failure.AIM To look at the safety and efficacy of heparin in preventing hepatic dysfunction after hepatectomy.METHODS The data was extracted from Multiparameter Intelligent Monitoring in Intensive Care III(MIMIC-III)v1.4 pinpointed patients who had undergone hepatectomy for liver cancer,subdividing them into two cohorts:Those who were injected with heparin and those who were not.The statistical evaluations used were unpaired ttests,Mann-Whitney U tests,chi-square tests,and Fisher’s exact tests to assess the effect of heparin administration on PHLF,duration of intensive care unit(ICU)stay,need for mechanical ventilation,use of continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT),incidence of hypoxemia,development of acute kidney injury,and ICU mortality.Logistic regression was utilized to analyze the factors related to PHLF,with propensity score matching(PSM)aiming to balance the preoperative disparities between the two groups.RESULTS In this study,1388 patients who underwent liver cancer hepatectomy were analyzed.PSM yielded 213 matched pairs from the heparin-treated and control groups.Initial univariate analyses indicated that heparin potentially reduces the risk of PHLF in both matched and unmatched samples.Further analysis in the matched cohorts confirmed a significant association,with heparin reducing the risk of PHLF(odds ratio:0.518;95%confidence interval:0.295-0.910;P=0.022).Additionally,heparin treatment correlated with improved short-term postoperative outcomes such as reduced ICU stay durations,diminished requirements for respiratory support and CRRT,and lower incidences of hypoxemia and ICU mortality.CONCLUSION liver failure is an important hazard following hepatic surgery.During ICU care heparin administration has been proved to decrease the occurrence of hepatectomy induced liver

This research discussed a deep learning method based on an improved generative adversarial network to segment the hippocampus.Different convolutional configurations were proposed to capture information obtained by a segmentation network.In addition,a generative adversarial network based on Pixel2Pixel was proposed.The generator was a codec structure combining a residual network and an attention mechanism to capture detailed information.The discriminator used a convolutional neural network to discriminate the segmentation results of the generated model and that of the expert.Through the continuously transmitted losses of the generator and discriminator,the generator reached the optimal state of hippocampus segmentation.T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging scans and related hippocampus labels of 130 healthy subjects from the Alzheimer’s disease Neuroimaging Initiative dataset were used as training and test data;similarity coefficient,sensitivity,and positive predictive value were used as evaluation indicators.Results showed that the network model could achieve an efficient automatic segmentation of the hippocampus and thus has practical relevance for the correct diagnosis of diseases,such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Mêdog County,with its mountains and valleys,is located in the southeastern Tibetan Plateau(TP)and at the lower reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River.This area has the highest annual rainfall amount over the TP,and in situ measurements are very scarce due to frequent debris flows and transportation difficulties.A monitoring campaign focused on cloud and precipitation observations was established in Mêdog in 2019 as a part of the Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and Research Program.This paper evaluates the accuracy of micro rain radar(MRR)measurements and investigates the variations in precipitation vertical structure in Mêdog using observations collected from the MRR,disdrometer,and rain gauges in summer 2021.The measurements from the three instruments show a strong consistency,with correlation coefficients exceeding 0.93.Although the profiles of integral rain parameters for different rain rate categories in Mêdog are similar to those in other regions,the vertical evolution of raindrop size distributions shows significant differences.For lightest rain,the evaporation of small raindrops and breakup of large raindrops are clear during their descent.For the rainfall rate category of 0.2–2.0 mm h−1(2.0–20.0 mm h−1),concentrations of small and medium(large)drops show almost uniform vertical structures,while the large(medium)drop number displays a positive(negative)gradient.A disturbance at height of 1.5–2.0 km above ground level(AGL)is observed in the heavy rainfall due to strong updrafts.In general,the MRR measurements in Mêdog are robust.The raindrop breakup process is more apparent in Mêdog than in other regions,resulting in high concentration of sizelimited raindrops.In addition,it is found that the interaction between steep terrain and Mêdog convective rain causes the strong updrafts between 1.5 and 2.0 km AGL.

A lower granular temperature zone near the orifice in silos was found by speckle visibility spectroscopy technology.Surprisingly,the values of granular temperature in this area are inversely proportional to the mass discharge rate(MDR).This finding that links the macroscopic MDR with mesoscopic dynamics temperature of the particle system,is obtained by looking at the effect that different outlet sizes of silos on MDR and granular temperature field.Apart from evidencing the relevance of a parameter that has been traditionally overlooked in silos,this relationship supposes a benchmark with which to explore the influence of small orifice sizes on MDR.Among these,we found that the frequency of intermittent clogging and their dependence on the size of the outlet.

As lead halide perovskite(LHP)semiconductors have shown tremendous promise in many application fields,and particularly made strong impact in the solar photovoltaic area,low dimensional quantum dot forms of these perovskites are showing the potential to make distinct marks in the fields of electronics,optoelectronics and photonics.The so-called perovskite quantum dots(PQDs)not only possess the most important features of LHP materials,i.e.,the unusual high defect tolerance,but also demonstrate clear quantum size effects,along with exhibiting desirable optoelectronic properties such as near perfect photoluminescent quantum yield,multiple exciton generation and slow hot-carrier cooling.Here,we review the advantageous properties of these nanoscale perovskites and survey the prospects for diverse applications which include lightemitting devices,solar cells,photocatalysts,lasers,detectors and memristors,emphasizing the distinct superiorities as well as the challenges.

Acoustic emission(AE)is a nondestructive real-time monitoring technology,which has been proven to be a valid way of monitoring dynamic damage to materials.The classification and recognition methods of the AE signals of the rotor are mostly focused on machine learning.Considering that the huge success of deep learning technologies,where the Recurrent Neural Network(RNN)has been widely applied to sequential classification tasks and Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)has been widely applied to image recognition tasks.A novel three-streams neural network(TSANN)model is proposed in this paper to deal with fault detection tasks.Based on residual connection and attention mechanism,each stream of the model is able to learn the most informative representation from Mel Frequency Cepstrum Coefficient(MFCC),Tempogram,and short-time Fourier transform(STFT)spectral respectively.Experimental results show that,in comparison with traditional classification methods and single-stream CNN networks,TSANN achieves the best overall performance and the classification error rate is reduced by up to 50%,which demonstrates the availability of the model proposed.

The methylation of lysine 4 of histone H3(H3K4),catalyzed by the histone methyltransferase KMT2/SET1,has been functionally identified in many pathogenic fungi but remains unexplored in nematode-trapping fungi(NTFs).Here,we report a regulatory mechanism of an H3K4-specific SET1 orthologue,AoSET1,in the typical nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora.When the fungus is induced by the nematode,the expression of AoSET1 is up-regulated.Disruption of AoSet1 led to the abolishment of H3K4me.Consequently,the yield of traps and conidia ofΔAoSet1 was significantly lower than that of the WT strain,and the growth rate and pathogenicity were also compromised.Moreover,H3K4 trimethylation was enriched mainly in the promoter of two bZip transcription factor genes(AobZip129 and AobZip350)and ultimately up-regulated the expression level of these two transcription factor genes.In theΔAoSet1 and AoH3K4A strains,the H3^(K4)me modification level was significantly decreased at the promoter of transcription factor genes AobZip129 and AobZip350.These results suggest that AoSET1-mediated H3KEme serves as an epigenetic marker of the promoter region of the targeted transcription factor genes.Furthermore,we found that AobZip129 negatively regulates the formation of adhesive networks and the pathogenicity of downstream AoPABP1 and AoCPR1.Our findings confirm that the epigenetic regulatory mechanism plays a pivotal role in regulating trap formation and pathogenesis in NTFs,and provide novel insights into the mechanisms of interaction between NTFs and nematodes.

Containing Lorentz invariance violation(liV),a new form of the fermions dynamic equation under the background of the curved space-time of the arbitrarily accelerating black hole,is studied.Firstly,we consider the new form of the fermions dynamic equation with arbitrary spin containing liV in curved space-time,and research the fermions dynamic equation with spin-1/2containing liV.On this basis,according to the semi-classical theory and black hole quantum tunneling radiation theory,the quantum tunneling radiation of the arbitrarily accelerating Kinnersly black hole is modified correctly,and the corrected physical quantities such as black hole temperature and quantum tunneling rate are deeply discussed.The fermions dynamic equation with arbitrary spin in the arbitrarily accelerating black hole space-time and its solution are explained in detail.In order to further obtain the correction effect of the Planck scale,this article considers beyond the semi-classical theory and further obtains new expressions of the black hole temperature and tunneling radiation rate.
