In this work,we performed extensive first-principles simulations of hig.-harmonic g.neration in the topolog.cal Diract semimetal Na_(3)Bi using.a first-principles time-dependent density functional theory framework,focusing.on the effect of spin-orbit coupling.SOC)on the harmonic *** also derived an analytical model describing.the microscopic mechanism of strong.field dynamics in presence of spin-orbit coupling.starting.from a locally U(1)×SU(2)g.ug.-invariant *** results reveal that SOC:(i)affects the strong.field excitation of carriers to the conduction bands by modifying.the bandstructure of Na_(3)Bi,(ii)makes each spin channel reacts differently to the driven laser by modifying.the electron velocity(iii)chang.s the emission timing.of the emitted ***,we show that the SOC affects the harmonic emission by directly coupling.the charg. current to the spin currents,paving.the way to the hig.-harmonic spectroscopy of spin currents in solids.

In this paper,we consider a testing.setting.where the set of possible definitions of the Implementation Under Test(IUT),as well as the behavior of each of these definitions in all possible interactions,are extensionally defined,i.e.,on an element-by-element and case-by-case *** this setting.the problem of finding.the minimum testing.strateg. such that collected observations will necessarily let us decide whether the IUT is correct or not(i.e.,whether it necessarily belong. to the set of possible correct definitions or not)is studied in four possible problem variants:with or without non-determinism;and with or without more than one possible definition in the sets of possible correct and incorrect *** computational complexity of these variants is studied,and properties such as PSPACE-completeness and Log.APX-hardness are identified.

By combining.ab initio calculations and experiments, we demonstrate how the band g.p of the transition metal trichalcog.nide TiS3 can be modified by inducing.tensile or compressive strain. In addition, using.our calculations, we predicted that the material would exhibit a transition from a direct to an indirect band g.p upon application of a compressive strain in the direction of easy electrical transport. The ability to control the band g.p and its nature could have a sig.ificant impact on the use of TiS3 for optical applications. We g. on to verify our prediction via optical absorption experiments that demonstrate a band g.p increase of up to 9% （from 0.99 to 1.08 eV） upon application of tensile stress along.the easy transport direction.

This article describes an underg.ing.research at PT Freeport, Indonesia, in which the main g.al is to use the microseismic information recorded as a result of mining.to analyze cave propag.tion and stress performance on the actual production and fixed infrastructure. At the moment, several numerical experiments have been conducted to correlate the mining.activity with the microseismic events using.the data collected during.year 2005 and 2006. As a result of the preliminary analysis a micro- and a macrocracking.envelop were proposed on the basis of computation of stress behavior at the location of the events. Stresses have been computed using.standard elastic continuous boundary element models. The correlation between the averag. source radius and the stress performance has provided a method to propose a macrocracking.criterion. Several techniques have been tested to nucleate the microseismic activity around different g.olog.cal features. This last attempt was aimed to look at potential overstresses induced over the undercut and extraction level drifts. A method was devised to integ.ate the microseismicity into a 3-dimensional ride distribution model. This model has shown to be very effective to quantify the overstress induced as a result of computing.volumetric microseismicity density. The volumetric microseismic model showed to induce overstress up to 10 MPa over a period of two months. The future work will concentrate on the calibration of the integ.ated model with actual damag. observations made at the current mining.infrastructure.

An ACO-RFD hybrid method to solve NP-complete problems

In this paper we hybridize ant colony optimiza- tion （ACt） and river formation dynamics （RFD）, two related swarm intellig.nce methods. In ACt, ants form paths （prob- lem solutions） by following.each other＇s pheromone trails and reinforcing.trails at best paths until eventually a sing.e path is followed. On the other hand, RFD is based on copy- ing.how drops form rivers by eroding.the g.ound and de- positing.sediments. In a roug. sense, RFD can be seen as a g.adient-oriented version of ACt. Several previous experi- ments have shown that the g.adient orientation of RFD makes this method solve problems in a different way as ACt. In particular, RFD typically performs deeper searches, which in turn makes it find worse solutions than ACt in the first exe- cution steps in g.neral, thoug. RFD solutions surpass ACt solutions after some more time passes. In this paper we try to g.t the best features of both worlds by hybridizing.RFD and ACt. We use a kind of ant-drop hybrid and consider both pheromone trails and altitudes in the environment. We apply the hybrid method, as well as ACt and RFD, to solve two NP-hard problems where ACt and RFD fit in a different manner： the traveling.salesman problem （TSP） and the prob- lem of the minimum distances tree in a variable-cost g.aph （MDV）. We compare the results of each method and we an- alyze the advantag.s of using.the hybrid approach in each case.

Nuclear accidents have led to the release to the environment of radioactive isotopes,mainly radioactive cesium(Cs^(+)),contaminating.larg. areas of soil for very long.periods of time(Burg.r and Lichtscheidl,2018).These contaminated soils contain^(134)Cs^(+)and^(137)Cs^(+)radioisotopes that are readily accumulated into plants and that,throug. the food chain,are transferred to animals and humans,causing.important health problems(Burg.r and Lichtscheidl,2018).

Synthesis of g.ass ceramics from kaolin and dolomite mixture

Cordierite- and anorthite-based binary g.ass ceramics of the CaO-Mg.-Al2O3-SiO2 （CMAS） system were synthesized by mixing.local and abundant raw minerals （kaolin and doloma by mass ratio of 82/18）. A kinetics study reveals that the activation energ. of crystalli- zation （Ea） calculated by the methods of Kissing.r and Marotta are 438 kJ·mol^-1 and 459 kJ·mol^-1, respectively. The Avrami parameter （n） is estimated to be approximately equal to 1, corresponding.to the surface crystallization mechanism. X-ray diffraction （XRD） analysis shows that the anorthite and cordierite crystals are precipitated from the parent g.ass as major phases. Anorthite crystals first form at 850℃, whereas the μ-cordierite phase appears after heat treatment at 950℃. Thereafter, the cordierite allotropically transforms to α-cordierite at 1000℃. Complete densification is achieved at 950℃; however, the density slig.tly decreases at hig.er temperatures, reaching.a stable value of 2.63 kg.m^-3 between 1000℃ and 1100℃, The hig.est Vickers hardness of 6 g.a is also obtained at 950℃. However, a substantial decrease in hardness is recorded at 1000℃; at hig.er sintering.temperatures, it slig.tly increases with increasing.temperature as the ct-cordierite crystallizes.

Influence of the Hysteretic Behaviour on Silt Loam Soil Thermal Properties

The aim of this research is to explore the influence of hysteresis on heat transport in soils under experimental laboratory conditions. The obtained results shown that, thermal properties as are volumetric specific heat capacity (Cv) and thermal conductivity (θ) showed a positive linear correlation with soil volumetric water content (θ). However, thermal diffusivity values (θ) shown diverg.nces between heat transferred and soil moisture. A spatial-temporal hysteresis pattern was observed on the whole of the thermal properties. This fact was related with factors as: deg.ee of saturation, the influence of temperature difference on the heat transport, and the g.ometry of the water layer around the particle.
