The Influence of Air Pollution Concentrations on Solar Irradiance Forecasting Using CNN-LSTM-mRMR Feature Extraction

Maintaining a steady power supply requires accurate forecasting of solar irradiance,since clean energy resources do not provide steady *** existing forecasting studies have examined the limited effects of weather conditions on solar radiation such as temperature and precipitation utilizing convolutional neural network(CNN),but no comprehensive study has been conducted on concentrations of air pollutants along with weather *** paper proposes a hybrid approach based on deep learning,expanding the feature set by adding new air pollution concentrations,and ranking these features to select and reduce their size to improve *** order to improve the accuracy of feature selection,a maximum-dependency and minimum-redundancy(mRMR)criterion is applied to the constructed feature space to identify and rank the *** combination of air pollution data with weather conditions data has enabled the prediction of solar irradiance with a higher *** evaluation of the proposed approach is conducted in Istanbul over 12 months for 43791 discrete times,with the main purpose of analyzing air data,including particular matter(PM10 and PM25),carbon monoxide(CO),nitric oxide(NOX),nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2)),ozone(O₃),sulfur dioxide(SO_(2))using a CNN,a long short-term memory network(LSTM),and MRMR feature *** with the benchmark models with root mean square error(RMSE)results of 76.2,60.3,41.3,32.4,there is a significant improvement with the RMSE result of *** hybrid model presented here offers high prediction accuracy,a wider feature set,and a novel approach based on air concentrations combined with weather conditions for solar irradiance prediction.

3-D Gait Identification Utilizing Latent Canonical Covariates Consisting of Gait Features

Biometric gait recognition is a lesser-known but emerging and effective biometric recognition method which enables subjects’walking patterns to be *** research in this area has primarily focused on feature analysis through the extraction of individual features,which captures most of the information but fails to capture subtle variations in gait ***,a novel feature taxonomy and an approach for deriving a relationship between a function of one set of gait features with another set are *** gait features extracted from body halves divided by anatomical planes on vertical,horizontal,and diagonal axes are grouped to form canonical gait *** Correlation Analysis is utilized to measure the strength of association between the canonical covariates of ***,gait assessment and identification are enhancedwhenmore semantic information is available through CCA-basedmulti-feature ***,CarnegieMellon University’s 3D gait database,which contains 32 gait samples taken at different paces,is utilized in analyzing gait *** performance of Linear Discriminant Analysis,K-Nearest Neighbors,Naive Bayes,Artificial Neural Networks,and Support Vector Machines was improved by a 4%average when the CCA-utilized gait identification approachwas *** maximumaccuracy rate of 97.8%was achieved throughCCA-based gait *** that,the rate of false identifications and unrecognized gaits went down to half,demonstrating state-of-the-art for gait identification.

Novel Membranes Regenerated from Blends of Cellulose/Gluten Using Ethylenediamine/Potassium Thiocyanate Solvent System

Current industrial methods for dissolution of cellulose in making regenerated cellulose products are relatively expensive,toxic and dangerous and have environmental problems coming with the hazard chemical *** solve these problems,a novel ethylenediamine and potassium thiocyanate(ED/KSCN)solvent system was developed,that is economical,ecofriendly,and highly *** ED/KSCN solvent system was proven to be a suitable solvent for fabricating cellulose(blended with other polymers)*** this study,gluten was used to develop nonporous membranes with *** method of casting these membranes provided better ones than the former researchers’*** composite membranes’physical and mechanical properties were studied by analysis of morphology,viscosity,crystallinity,thermal behaviors,tensile properties and water absorption of *** showed that membranes are nonporous,uniform,strong,flexible,ecofriendly and *** and physical properties were influenced by the ratio of cellulose/*** blending 40% gluten,the tensile strength of cellulose membrane dropped to 15.89 MPa from 35.11 ***,its elongation at break increased from 35.3% to 57.02% accordingly.

Effects of resistivity on standing shocks in low angular momentum flows around black holes

We study two-dimensional low angular momentum flow around a black hole using the resistive magnetohydrodynamic module of PLUTO *** have been performed for the flows with parameters of specific angular momentum,specific energy and magnetic field which may be expected for the flow around Sgr A*.For flows with lower resistivityη=10^(-6)and 0.01,the luminosity and shock location on the equator vary *** power density spectra of luminosity variation show peak frequencies which correspond to the periods of 5×10^(5),1.4×10^(5)and 5×10^(4)*** quasi-periodic oscillations(QPOs)occur due to interaction between the outer oscillating standing shock and the inner weak shocks occurring at the innermost hot *** for cases with higher resistivityη=0.1 and 1.0,the high resistivity considerably suppresses the magnetic activity such as MHD turbulence and the flows tend to be steady and symmetric with respect to the *** steady standing shock is formed more outward compared with the hydrodynamical *** low angular momentum flow model with the above flow parameters and with low resistivity has a possibility to explain long-term flares of Sgr A*with frequencies~one per day and~5-10 days in the latest observations by Chandra,Swift and XMM-Newton monitoring of Sgr A*.

Multiple-predators-based capture process on complex networks

The predator/prey （capture） problem is a prototype of many network-related applications. We study the capture process on complex networks by considering multiple predators from multiple sources. In our model, some lions start from multiple sources simultaneously to capture the lamb by biased random walks, which are controlled with a free parameter a. We derive the distribution of the lamb＇s lifetime and the expected lifetime （T）. Through simulation, we find that the expected lifetime drops substantially with the increasing number of lions. Moreover, we study how the underlying topological structure affects the capture process, and obtain that locating on small-degree nodes is better than on large- degree nodes to prolong the lifetime of the lamb. The dense or homogeneous network structures are against the survival of the lamb. We also discuss bow to improve the capture efficiency in our model.

Entropy-based link prediction in weighted networks

Information entropy has been proved to be an effective tool to quantify the structural importance of complex *** a previous work [Xu et al. Physica A, 456 294（2016）], we measure the contribution of a path in link prediction with information entropy. In this paper, we further quantify the contribution of a path with both path entropy and path weight,and propose a weighted prediction index based on the contributions of paths, namely weighted path entropy（WPE）, to improve the prediction accuracy in weighted networks. Empirical experiments on six weighted real-world networks show that WPE achieves higher prediction accuracy than three other typical weighted indices.
