Leaf morpho-physiology and phytochemistry of olive trees as affected by cultivar type and increasing aridity

The olive species(Olea europaea L.)is an ancient traditional crop grown under rainfed conditions in the Mediterranean *** response to the growing national and international demand for olive oil,the olive cultivars are introduced into highly arid new bioclimatic ***,the morpho-physiology and phytochemistry of olive trees are potentially changing among cultivar types and geographical *** the present work,we have undertaken an assessment on the impacts of geographical location and cultivar types on the leaf morpho-physiology and phytochemistry of olive ***,leaves of the two most cultivated olive tree varieties,Chemlal and Sigoise,were collected from three geographical regions(Setif,Batna,and Eloued)with increasing aridity in *** samples from the geographical regions were analyzed using the standard physiological experiment,colorimetric method,and a chromatography *** of both cultivars exhibited a significant variance in terms of the leaf shape index but not for the leaf tissue density,specific leaf weight,and specific leaf *** pigment contents were affected by both cultivar type and geographical location,with the lowest pigment content recorded in the Sigoise cultivar from the Setif *** with the Setif and Batna regions,dried leaves of both cultivars from the Eloued region showed the higher levels of the total polyphenol,total flavonoid,and total tannin,as well as a better antioxidant *** chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis of all leaf extracts identified the following phenolic acids as major compounds:oleuropein,naringin,apigenin-7-O-glucoside,kaempferol,quercetin,quercitrin,luteolin-7-O-naringenin,and quinic *** contents were found for p-Coumaric acid,trans-Ferulic acid,hyperoside,rutin,apigenin,caffeic acid,protocatechuic acid,o-Coumaric acid,and gallic ***,epicatechin and catechin+were not found in the leaf extracts of the Sigoise *** leaf organ

Accelerated D-Dimensional Compactified Universe in Gauss-Bonnet-Dilatonic Scalar Gravity from D-Brane/M-Theory

We discuss a particular d-dimensional Gauss- Ronnet-dilatonie universe compactified on S^1 motivated from Mtheory. We examine the time-evolution of the dynamical equations where many interesting consequences are revealed and discussed in some details. Under reasonable conditions, the discussed model can provide a mechanism to realize, in higher-dimensions （d 〉 4）, the accelerated expansion of the universe in the presence of dark energy, without the presence of phantom energy and without the contraction of some internal dimension.

The Harrat Al-Birk basalts in southwest Saudi Arabia:characteristic alkali mafic magmatism related to Red Sea rifting

Harrat Al-Birk volcanics are products of the Red Sea rift in southwest Saudi Arabia that started in the Tertiary and reached its climax at ~ 5 *** volcanic field is almost monotonous and is dominated by basalts that include mafic-ultramafic mantle xenoliths(gabbro,websterite,and garnet-clinopyroxenite).The present work presents the first detailed petrographic and geochemical notes about the *** comprise vesicular basalt,porphyritic basalt,and flow-textured basalt,in addition to red and black ***,the volcanic rock varieties of the Harrat Al-Birk are low- to medium-Ti,sodic-alkaline olivine basalts with an enriched oceanic island signature but extruded in a within-plate *** is evidence of formation by partial melting with a sort of crystal fractionation dominated by clinopyroxene and Fe-Ti *** latter have abundant titanomagnetite and lesser *** is a remarkable enrichment of light rare earth elements and depletion in Ba,Th and K,Ta,and *** geochemical data in this work suggest Harrat Al-Birk basalts represent products of watersaturated melt that was silica *** melt was brought to the surface through partial melting of asthenospheric upper mantle that produced enriched oceanic island *** partial melting is the result of subducted continental mantle lithosphere with considerable mantle metasomatism of subducted oceanic lithosphere that might contain hydrous phases in its *** fractional crystallization process was controlled by significant separation of clinopyroxene followed by amphiboles and Fe-Ti oxides,particularly ***,the Harrat Al-Birk alkali basalts underwent crystal fractionation that is completely absent in the exotic mantle xenoliths(*** et *** The Pleistocene Jabal Akwa A1 Yamaniah maar/tuff ring-scoria cone complex as an analogy for future phreatomagmatic to magmatic explosive eruption scenarios in the Jizan Region,SW Saudi Arabia 201

Phase Transitions in the Early Universe with Negatively Induced Supergravity Cosmological Constant

We consider that the observable cosmological constant is the sum of the vacuum （Avac） and the induced term （Aind - 3m^2/4） with m being the ultra-llght masses （≈ Hubble parameter） implemented in the theory from supergravities arguments and non-minimal coupling. In the absence of a scalar buildup of matter fields, we study its effects on spontaneous symmetry breaking with a Higgs potential and show how the presence of the ultra-light masses yields some important consequences for the early universe and new constraints on the Higgs and electroweak gauge bosons masses.

Understanding roof deformation mechanics and parametric sensitivities of coal mine entries using the discrete element method

Although conventional coal mine designs are conservative regarding pillar strength,local failures such as roof-falls and pillar bursts still affect mine safety and *** studies have identified that discontinuous,layered roof materials have some self-supporting *** research is a preliminary step towards understanding these mechanics in coal-measure *** others have considered broad conceptual models and simplified analogs for mine roof behavior,this study presents a unique numerical model that more completely represents in-situ roof *** discrete element method(DEM)is utilized to conduct a parametric analysis considering a range of in-situ stress ratios,material properties,and joint networks to determine the parameters controlling the stability of single-entries modeled in *** results are compared to empirical observations of roof-support effectiveness(ARBS)in the context of the coal mine roof rating(CMRR)*** such as immediate roof displacement,overall stability,and statistical relationships between model parameters and outcomes are presented *** practical applications of this line of research include:(1)roof-support optimization for a range of coal-measure rocks,(2)establishment of a relationship between roof stability and pillar stress,and(3)determination of which parameters are most critical to roof stability and therefore require concentrated evaluation.

We discuss the late-time dynamics of a particular four-dimensional Brans-Dicke cosmology with a dilaton field motivated by string theories （solitonic p-branes or D-branes） in which the dilaton field and the scale factor of the fiat, homogeneous spacetime are correlated. We examine the late-time-evolution of the equations of motion where various attractive consequences are revealed artd discussed in some detail.

The global pandemic of novel coronavirus that started in 2019 has ser-iously affected daily lives and placed everyone in a panic *** coronavirus led to the adoption of social distancing and people avoiding unneces-sary physical contact with each *** present situation advocates the require-ment of a contactless biometric system that could be used in future authentication systems which makesﬁngerprint-based person identiﬁcation ***-lar biometric is the solution because it does not require physical contact and is able to identify people wearing face ***,the periocular biometric region is a small area,and extraction of the required feature is the point of *** paper has proposed adopted multiple features and emphasis on the periocular *** the proposed approach,combination of local binary pattern(LBP),color histogram and features in frequency domain have been used with deep learning algorithms for classiﬁ***,we extract three types of fea-tures for the classiﬁcation of periocular regions for *** LBP represents the textual features of the iris while the color histogram represents the frequencies of pixel values in the RGB *** order to extract the frequency domain fea-tures,the wavelet transformation is *** learning from these features,a convolutional neural network(CNN)becomes able to discriminate the features and can provide better recognition *** proposed approach achieved the highest accuracy rates with the lowest false person identiﬁcation.

Recently,the notion of non-standard Lagrangians was discussed widely in literature in an attempt to explore the inverse variational problem of nonlinear differential *** forms of non-standard Lagrangians were introduced in literature and have revealed nice mathematical and physical *** interesting form related to the inverse variational problem is the logarithmic Lagrangian,which has a number of motivating features related to the Li′enard-type and Emden nonlinear differential *** types of Lagrangians lead to nonlinear dynamics based on non-standard *** this communication,we show that some new dynamical properties are obtained in stellar dynamics if standard Lagrangians are replaced by Logarithmic Lagrangians and their corresponding non-standard *** interesting consequence concerns the emergence of an extra pressure term,which is related to the gravitational field suggesting that gravitation may act as a pressure in a strong gravitational *** case of the stellar halo of the Milky Way is considered.

Machine Learning Approaches to Detect DoS and Their Effect on WSNs Lifetime

Energy and security remain the main two challenges in Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs).Therefore,protecting these WSN networks from Denial of Service(DoS)and Distributed DoS(DDoS)is one of the WSN networks security *** packet deep scan systems that rely on open field inspection in transport layer security packets and the open field encryption trend are making machine learning-based systems the only viable choice for these types of *** paper contributes to the evaluation of the use machine learning algorithms in WSN nodes traffic and their effect on WSN network life *** examined the performance metrics of different machine learning classification categories such asK-Nearest Neighbour(KNN),Logistic Regression(LR),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Gboost,Decision Tree(DT),Na飗e Bayes,Long Short Term Memory(LSTM),and Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP)on aWSN-dataset in different *** test results proved that the statistical and logical classification categories performed the best on numeric statistical datasets,and the Gboost algorithm showed the best performance compared to different algorithms on average of all performance *** performance metrics used in these validations were accuracy,F1-score,False Positive Ratio(FPR),False Negative Ratio(FNR),and the training execution ***,the test results showed the Gboost algorithm got 99.6%,98.8%,0.4%0.13%in accuracy,F1-score,FPR,and FNR,*** training execution time,it obtained 1.41 s for the average of all training time execution *** addition,this paper demonstrated that for the numeric statistical data type,the best results are in the size of the dataset ranging from3000 to 6000 records and the percentage between categories is not less than 50%for each category with the other ***,this paper investigated the effect of Gboost on the WSN lifetime,which resulted in a 32%reduction compared to other Gboost-free scenarios.
