The intention of this investigation is to study the effects of heat transfer and inclined magnetic field on the peristaltic flow of Williamson fluid in an asymmetric channel through porous medium. The governing two-dimensional equations are simplified under the assumption of long wavelength approximation. The simplified equations are solved for the stream function, temperature, and axial pressure gradient by using a regular perturbation method. The expression for pressure rise is computed numerically. The profiles of velocity, pressure gradient, temperature, heat transfer coefficient and stream function are sketched and interpreted for various embedded parameters and also the behavior of stream function for various wave forms is discussed through graphs. It is observed that the peristaltic velocity increases from porous medium to non-porous medium, the magnetic effects have increasing effect on the temperature, and the size of the trapped bolus decreases with the increasing of magnetic effects while the trend is reversed with the increasing of Darcy number. Moreover, limiting solutions of our problem are in close agreement with the corresponding results of the Newtonian fluid model.

Purification and concentration of gluconic acid from an integrated fermentation and membrane process using response surface optimized conditions

A response surface method was used to optimize the purification and concentration of gluconic acid from fermentation broth using an integrated membrane system. Gluconobacter oxydans was used for the bioconversion of the glucose in sugarcane juice to gluconic acid (concentration 45 g·L^-1) with a yield of 0.9 g·g^-1. The optimum operating conditions, such as trans-membrane pressure (TMP), pH, cross-flow rate (CFR) and initial gluconic acid concentration, were determined using response surface methodology. Five different types of polyamide nanofiltration membranes were screened and the best performing one was then used for downstream purification of gluconic acid in a flat sheet cross-flow membrane module. Under the optimum conditions (TMP=12 bar and CFR=400 L·h^-1), this membrane retained more than 85% of the unconverted glucose from the fermentation broth and had a gluconic acid permeation rate of 88% with a flux of 161 L·m^-2·h^-1. Using response surface methods to optimize this green nanofiltration process is an effective way of controlling the production of gluconic acid so that an efficient separation with high flux is obtained.

Cogeneration units, which produce both heat and electric power, are found in many process industries. These industries also consume heat directly in addition to electricity. The cogeneration units operate only within a feasible zone. Each point within the feasible zone consists of a specific value of heat and electric power. These units are used along with other units, which produce either heat or power exclusively. Hence, the economic dispatch problem for these plants to optimize the fuel cost is quite complex and several classical and meta-heuristic algo- rithms have been proposed earlier. This paper applies the firefly algorithm, which is inspired by the behavior of fireflies which attract each other based on their luminosity. The results obtained have been compared with those obtained by other methods earlier and showed a marked improvement over the earlier methods.

Now a days,Remote sensing(Rs)techniques are used for earth observation and for detection of soil types with high accuracy and better *** technique provides perspective view of spatial resolution and aids in instantaneous measurement of soil’s minerals and its *** are a few challenges that is present in soil classification using image enhancement such as,locating and plotting soil boundaries,slopes,hazardous areas,drainage condition,land use,vegetation *** are some traditional approaches which involves few drawbacks such as,manual involvement which results in inaccuracy due to human interference,time consuming,inconsistent prediction *** overcome these draw backs and to improve the predictive analysis of soil characteristics,we propose a Hybrid Deep Learning improved BAT optimization algorithm(HDIB)for soil classification using remote sensing hyperspectral *** HDIB,we propose a spontaneous BAT optimization algorithm for feature extraction of both spectral-spatial features by choosing pure pixels from the Hyper spectral(Hs)***-spatial vector as training illustrations is attained by merging spatial and spectral vector by means of priority stacking ***,a recurring Deep Learning(DL)Neural Network(NN)is used for classifying the Hs images,considering the datasets of Pavia University,salinas and Tamil Nadu Hill scene,which in turn improves the reliability of ***,the performance of the proposed HDIB based soil classifier is compared and analyzed with existing methodologies like single Layer Perceptron(sLP),Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)and Deep Metric Learning(DML)and it shows an improved classification accuracy of 99.87%,98.34%and 99.9%for Tamil Nadu Hills dataset,Pavia University and salinas scene datasets respectively.

Cel-xsmxO2 （x=0, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3） and sm-doped ceria＋（2%-8%）Al2O3 were synthesized through sol-gel process followed by low temperature combustion. The synthesis, structure, densification, conductivity and thermal expansion were studied, and the structure and phase were confirmed by XRD. Dense ceramics were obtained through sintering the pellets at 1300 ℃. 2% and 4% Al2O3 were added into Ce0.8sm0.2O2 to promote the densification at 1250 ℃. The surface morphology of the sintered pellets was analyzed using sEM. A two-probe AC impedance spectroscopy was used to study the total ionic conductivity.

Gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies are notorious for frequently progressing to advanced stages even in the absence of serious symptoms, thus leading to delayed diagnoses and dismal prognoses. secondary prevention of GI malignancies through early detection and treatment of cancer-precursor/premalignant lesions, therefore, is recognized as an effective cancer prevention strategy. In order to efficiently detect these lesions, systemic application of screening tests (surveillance) is needed. However, most of the currently used non-invasive screening tests for GI malignancies (for example, serum markers such as alpha-fetoprotein for hepatocellular carcinoma, and fecal occult blood test, for colon cancer) are only modestly effective necessitating the use of highly invasive endoscopy-based procedures, such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy for screening purposes. Even for hepatocellular carcinoma where non-invasive imaging (ultrasonography) has become a standard screening tool, the need for repeated liver biopsies of suspicious liver nodules for histopathological confirmation can't be avoided. The invasive nature and high-cost associated with these screening tools hinders implementation of GI cancer screening programs. Moreover, only a small fraction of general population is truly predisposed to developing GI malignancies, and indeed needs surveillance. To spare the average-risk individuals from superfluous invasive procedures and achieve an economically viable model of cancer prevention, it's important to identify cohorts in general population that are at substantially high risk of developing GI malignancies (riskstratification), and select suitable screening tests for surveillance in these cohorts. We herein provide a brief overview of such high-risk cohorts for different GI malignancies, and the screening strategies that have commonly been employed for surveillance purpose in them.

Pb–Pb baddeleyite ages of mafic dyke swarms from the Dharwar Craton:Implications for Paleoproterozoic LIPs and diamond potential of mantle keel

The Dharwar Craton in Peninsular India was intruded by a series of mafic dykes during the Paleoproterozoic and these mafic magmatic events have important implications on continental rifting and *** we report ten precise Pb-Pb TE-TIMs age determinations on baddeleyite grains separated from seven mafic dykes and three sills,intruding into Archean basement rocks and Proterozoic sedimentary formations of the Eastern Dharwar Craton *** crystallization age of the baddeleyite shows 2366.3±1.1 Ma,and 2369.2±0.8 Ma for the NE-sW trending dykes,2368.1±0.6 Ma,2366.4±0.8 Ma,2207.2±0.7 Ma and 1887.3±1.0 Ma for the ENE-WNW to E-W striking dykes,1880.6±1.0 Ma,1864.3±0.6 Ma and 1863.6±0.9 Ma for Cuddapah sills,and 1861.8±1.4 Ma for the N-s trending *** results in conjunction with those from previous studies identify eight distinct stages of widespread Paleoproterozoic magmatism in the Dharwar *** mantle plume centres of the four radiating dyke swarms with ages of^2367 Ma,~2210 Ma,~2082 Ma,and^1886 Ma were traced to establish their proximity to the EDC kimberlite *** the^2367 Ma and^1886 Ma plume centres are inferred to be located to the west and east of the present day Dharwar craton respectively away from the kimberlite province,location of plume heads of the other two swarms with ages of^2207 Ma and^2082 Ma are in close *** spite of the ubiquitous occurrence of dyke intrusions of all the seven generations in the kimberlite province,only few of these kimberlites are *** occurrences elsewhere in the vicinity of older Large Igneous Provinces(LIPs)like the Mackenzie,Karoo,Parana-Etendeka and Yakutsk-vilui are also *** has been attributed to the destruction of the lithospheric mantle keel(that hosts the diamonds)by the respective mantle *** diamondiferous nature of the EDC kimberlites therefore suggests that plume activity does not always result in the destruction of the mantle keel.
