Aspergillus is a group of conidial fungi,isolated from soil and litter,cause serious diseases in humans and *** ubiquitous fungus is prevalent in the air and inhalation of fungal spores is *** diseases from Aspergillus became a major health problem and are difficult to manage because they tend to be chronic and invasive,hard to diagnose and difficult to exterminate with antifungal ***,immune responses play vital roles in monitoring the fate of fungal infections and regulation of the immune responses against fungal infections might be an effective approach for controlling and reducing the pathological *** studies have shown that microRNAs(miRNAs)are assembly of regulators which modulates the immune responses during fungal infections through diversified cellular *** small non-coding RNA sequences regulate gene expression,mostly at the post-transcriptional level and have emerged as the controller of gene expression of at least 30%human ***,miRNAs might be considered as one of the potential goals in immunotherapy for fungal *** objective of this review is to explore the role of miRNAs in host recognition processes and understanding the modulation of regulatory pathways in response to Aspergillus exposure.

Anti-mycobacterial screening of five Indian medicinal plants and partial purification of active extracts of Cassia sophera and Urtica dioica

Objective:To find out the anti-mycobacterial potential of Cassia sophera(***),Urtica dioica(***),Momordica dioica,Tribulus terrains and Coccinia indica plants against multidrug resistant(MDR) strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis(***).Methods:Plant materials were extracted successively with solvents of increasing *** extracts were screened for anti-mycobacterial activity against fast growing,non-pathogenic mycobacterium strain,Mycobacterium semegmatis,by disk diffusion *** active extracts were tested against MDR and clinical isolates of *** by absolute concentration and proportion *** active extracts were subjected to bio-autoassay on TLC followed by silica column chromatography for isolation of potential drug ***:Hexane extract of ***(HEUD) and methanol extract of ***(MECS) produced inhibition zone of 20 mm in disc diffusion assay and MIC of 250 and 125μg/mL respectively in broth dilution assay against Mycobacterium *** traction F2 from MECS produced 86%inhibition against clinical isolate and 60%inhibition against MDR strain of ***.F18 from HEUD produced 81%inhibition against clinical isolate and 60%inhibition against MDR strain of *** analysis indicated that anti-mycobacterial activity of MECS may be due to presence of alkaloids or flavonoids and that of HEUD due to ***:*** and *** plant extracts exhibited promising anti-mycobacterial activity against MDR strain of ***. This is the first report of anti-mycobacterial activity form *** study showed possibility of purifying novel anti-mycobacterial compound(s) from *** and ***.

Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes. Symptoms of the disease include nerve palsy, mononeuropathy, mononeuropathy multiplex, diabetic amyotrophy, painful polyneuropathy, autonomic neu- ropathy, and thoracoabdominal neuropathy. In this study, type 2 diabetes in rats was induced with nicotinamide- streptozotocin. Drug treatment was initiated on the d 15, with the combination regimen of metformin, pioglitazone and glimipiride or metformin and sitagliptin or sitagliptin, amitriptyline and sitagliptin and led to significantly im- proved glycemic control, increased grip strength and paw jumping response on d 21, 28 and 35 （P 〈 0.001）. Signif- icant increases in blood protein levels and decreases in urinary protein levels were observed in the animals treated with the different regimens on d 21, 28 and 35 （P 〈 0.001）. Combined treatment of streptozotocin and nicotinamide caused marked degeneration of nerve cells, while administration of metformin and sitagliptin showed tissue regen- eration and no body weight gain. In conclusion, treatment with sitagliptin and sitagliptin combined with metformin or amitriptyline results in no body weight gain, but causes an increase in grip strength and pain sensitivity, exhibits neural protection, and reverses the alteration of biochemical parameters in rats with streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetes.
