Objective:to investigate the studies on effects of Andrographis paniculata(A.paniculata) (Burm.f.) and Andrographis lineata(A.lineata) nees(Family:Acanthaeeae)extracts against two mosquitoes Culex quinquefasciatus(Cx.quinquefasciatus)(Say.) and Aedes aegypti(Ae.aegypti) (Linn.).Methods:the aqueous and petroleum ether extracts of two plant species.A.paniculata and A.lineate were examined against the larvae of,4.aegypti(L.) and Cx.quinquefasciatus with gradually increasing concenlration ie.from 50 to 200 ppm of solvent extracts and to test their activity in combination with each other.Results:In a 24 h bioassay experiment with plant extracts,highest mortalities were recorded at 200 ppm of concentrations for leaves of 4.lineta and A.paniculata individually.For combination effect,only 150 ppm of the mixture of solvent extracts of petroleum ether:aqueous(1:1) extracts showed 100%mortality after 24 h of exposure. Conclusions:the results show that,insecticides of plant combination is ecofriend and has better larvicidal activity compared to individual extracts.

Interleukin-15(IL-15)is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is required for the survival and activation of memory CD8^(+)t cells,natural killer(NK)cells,innate lymphoid cells,macrophages and dendritic cells.IL-15 is implicated in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis,inflammatory bowel disease,psoriasis and autoimmune type 1 diabetes(t1D).IL-15 receptor(IL-15R)consists of a specificαchain,theβchain that is shared with IL-2R and the commonγchain.IL-15 is unique in the manner in which it binds and signals through its receptor subunits.IL-15 that is complexed with IL-15Rαbinds to theβγreceptor complex present on the responding cell to mediate its biological effects through a process referred to as trans-presentation.the trans-presented IL-15 is essential to mediate the biological effects on t lymphocytes and NK cells.Here we show that IL-15,but not IL-15Rα,is required for the development of spontaneous and virus-induced t1D,viral clearance and for antigen cross-presentation to CD8^(+)t lymphocytes.Our findings provide insight into the complexities of IL-15 signalling in the initiation and maintenance of CD8^(+)t cell-mediated immune responses.

Interleukin-15 （IL-15） is essential for the survival of memory CD8^＋ and CD4^＋ t cell subsets, and natural killer and natural killer t cells. Here, we describe a hitherto unreported role of IL-15 in regulating homoeostasis of naive CD4^＋ t cells. Adoptive transfer of splenocytes from non-obese diabetic （NOD） mice results in increased homeostatic expansion of t cells in lymphopenic NOD.scid.II15^-/- mice when compared to NOD.scid recipients. the increased accumulation of CD4^＋ t cells is also observed in NOD.II15^-/- mice, indicating that IL-15-dependent regulation also occurs in the absence of lymphopenia. NOD.scid mice lacking the I L- 15Ra chain, but not those lacking the common gamma chain, also show increased accumulation of CD4^＋ t cells. these findings indicate that the IL-15-mediated regulation occurs directly on CD4^＋ t cells and requires trans-presentation of IL-15. CD4^＋ t cells expanding in the absence of IL-15 signaling do not acquire the characteristics of classical regulatory t cells. Rather, CD4^＋ t cells expanding in the absence of IL-15 show impaired antigen-induced activation and IFN-7 production. Based on these findings, we propose that the IL-15-dependent regulation of the naive CD4^＋ t-cell compartment may represent an additional layer of control to thwart potentially autoreactive cells that escape central tolerance, while permitting the expansion of memory t cells.

the dynamics and structure of mixed phases in a complex fluid can significantly impact its material properties,such as viscoelasticity.Small-angle X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy(SA-XPCS)can probe the spontaneous spatial fluctuations of the mixed phases under various in situ environments over wide spatiotemporal ranges(10−6–103 s/10−10–10−6 m).tailored material design,however,requires searching through a massive number of sample compositions and experimental parameters,which is beyond the bandwidth of the current coherent X-ray beamline.Using 3.7-μs-resolved XPCS synchronized with the clock frequency at the Advanced Photon Source,we demonstrated the consistency between the Brownian dynamics of~100 nm diameter colloidal silica nanoparticles measured from an enclosed pendant drop and a sealed capillary.the electronic pipette can also be mounted on a robotic arm to access different stock solutions and create complex fluids with highly-repeatable and precisely controlled composition profiles.this closed-loop,AI-executable protocol is applicable to light scattering techniques regardless of the light wavelength and optical coherence,and is a first step towards high-throughput,autonomous material discovery.

AIM to investigate the role of suppressor of cytokine signaling 1(SOCS1)in regulating MEt-mediated invasive potential of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)cells.MEtHODSStable derivatives of mouse(Hepa1-6)and human(hep3B,Hep G2)HCC cell lines expressing SOCS1or control vector were evaluated for their ability to migrate towards hepatocyte growth factor(HGF)in the transwell migration assay,invade extracellular matrix in response to HGF stimulation in a 3-D invasion assay by confocal microscopy,and to undergo anchorageindependent proliferation in semisolid agar.Following intravenous and intrasplenic inoculation into NOD.scid.gamma mice,the ability of Hepa cells to form othotopic tumors was evaluated.Following HGF stimulation of Hepa and Hep3B cells,expression of proteins implicated in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition was evaluated by western blot and qR t-PCR.RESULtS SOCS1 expression in mouse and human HCC cells inhibited HGF-induced migration through matrigel.In the 3-D invasion assay,HGF stimulation induced invasion of HCC cells across type-Ⅰcollagen matrix,and SOCS1expression significantly reduced the depth of invasion.SOCS1 expression also reduced the number and size of colonies formed by anchorage-independent growth in semisolid agar.Following intravenous inoculation,control Hepa cell formed large tumor nodules that obliterated the liver whereas the SOCS1-expressing Hepa cells formed significantly smaller nodules.tumors formed by SOCS1-expressing cells showed reduced phosphorylation of StAt3 and ERK that was accompanied by reduced levels of MEt protein expression.HGF stimulated Hepa cells expressing SOCS1 showed increased expression of E-cadherin and decreased expression of EGR1,SNAI1and ZEB1.Comparable results were obtained with Hep3B cells.SOCS1 expressing HCC cells also showed reduced levels of EGR1 and SNAI1 transcripts.CONCLUSION Our findings indicate that loss of SOCS1-dependent control over epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition may contribute to MEt-mediated migration,invasion and metastatic growth of HCC.

Utilisation of Municipal Solid Waste is important to curb the ever rising demand of scarce land for its disposal. Changing life style patterns, particularly in urban areas, has led to increase in generation of MSW. Municipal solid waste from Indian cities estimated to have 40% - 60% organic matter, which could be recycled as compost. the most suitable way to recycle it with low investment is aerobic composting using windrow method. With the compliance of Municipal Solid Waste (Management and Handling) Rules 2000, many cities in India are making compost with organic portion of MSW. Before applying MSWC for agricultural uses, it is important to inventories heavy metals in compost to assess its toxicity. In the present study the compost samples were quantified for its toxicity from three highly populated cities of India, i.e., Delhi (Capital of India), Ahmedabad (Gujarat) and Bangalore (Karnataka). the MSWC samples were analysed for total heavy metals and in extractable fractions. Few samples were found with higher concentration of metals then the prescribed limits for its application as compost in Indian MSW rules, whereas, samples have not showed significant heavy metals concentration in extractable fractions. therefore, studied MSW compost samples had demonstrated its suitability to use as green compost.

Objective:to compare the antioxidative effects of the methanolic leaf extracts of Ficus religiosa (F.religiosa),Chromolaena odorata(C.odorata),Cynodon dactylon(C.dactylon) and trida,x procumbens(t.procumbens) as well as the contents of antioxidants in the extracts.Methods: total phenol and total flavanoid contents were measured according to the standard procedures. the total antioxidant capacity was determined using the phosphomolybdenum method.Reducing power was determined by the potassium ferrieyanide reducing method.the free radical scavenging activity was measured by 2,2’-Diphenyl-l-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) assay.Results: Quantitative phytochemical analysis of total phenol content showed that C.odorata had the highest content of phenolic compounds significantly followed by F.religiosa,t.procumbens and C.dactylon.As for the total flavanoids content,F.religiosa had the highest content,followed by C.odorata,t.procumbens and C.daxtylon.Study on the total antioxidant capacity revealed that F.religiosa,C.dactylon and C.odorata showed higher total antioxidant capacity.t.procumbens showed the lowest capacity.Meanwhile,t.procumbens and C.odorata have the highest reducing power activity followed by F.religiosa and C.dactylon.the results of DPPH radical scavenging activity indicated that t.procumbens induced the largest elevation as the concentration of its extract increased,followed by C.odorata and F.religiosa and C.dactylon.Conclusions:the present study demonstrates the antioxidative capacity of all the four plant species.Of all the plants,C.odorata,a perennial weed plant showed potentially a high antioxidant activity,with higher phenolic and flavonoids contents.the data suggest that C.odorata can be best utilized in developing bioantioxidants.

First principle calculations are performed using the super cell method with pseudopotentials and plane waves based on the Density Functional theory (DFt) for the surface structural properties at t = 0 K. thin slabs of 7 - 13 atomic layers of the clean Nb and ta (001) surfaces are considered and relaxations, surface energies, and work functions of the fully relaxed slabs are presented. Consistent results are obtained with the Generalized Gradient Approximation (GGA) and the Local Density Approximation (LDA) for the exchange-correlation functional and they compare well with experimental and other theoretical works.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a condition intimately related to ageing. Currently available treatment options for the management of BPH have various limitations and associated adverse effects. A polyherbal formulation is claimed to be beneficial in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. this single blind, placebo-controlled study evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of polyherbal formulation in BPH. Material and Methods: A total of 60 patients who were diagnosed as BPH and who were willing to give informed consent were included in the study. At the randomization visit, a detailed medical history was obtained and the patients underwent a thorough systemic examination and digital rectal examination. Routine blood analysis, urinalysis and serum levels of prostate specific antigen were carried out. Abdominal pelvic ultrasonography was done at entry and after completing the study. the severity of the urinary parameters was evaluated using American Urological Association symptom score. All the patients were randomized using random table into either polyherbal group (n = 30) or placebo (n = 30). Each patient received either polyherbal formulation or placebo in a dose of 2 capsules twice a day with meals for two months. All adverse events reported by the patients or observed by investigators were recorded. Statistical analysis was done according to the intention-to-treat principles. Analysis was performed between the groups using Fisher's exact test or unpaired 't' test (Independent t-test). Results: Fifty-six patients completed the study. there was a significant improvement in the mean AUA symptom score, PVR urine volume urinary hesitancy, intermittent flow, straining during urination, sense of incomplete micturition and frequency of night-time urination, in the polyherbal formulation group. Four patients from the placebo group withdrew from the study due to lack of benefit to the treatment. Conclusion: the beneficial clinical efficacy of polyherbal formulation observed in this study in the management
