Serial remote sensing images offer a valuable means of tracking the evolutionary changes and growth of a specific geographical area over *** the original images may provide limited insights,they harbor considerable potential for identifying clusters and *** aggregation of these serial remote sensing images(SRSI)becomes increasingly viable as distinct patterns emerge in diverse scenarios,such as suburbanization,the expansion of native flora,and agricultural *** a novel approach,we propose an innovative method for extracting sequential patterns by combining Ant Colony Optimization(ACD)and Empirical Mode Decomposition(EMD).This integration of the newly developed EMD and ACO techniques proves remarkably effective in identifying the most significant characteristic features within serial remote sensing images,guided by specific *** findings highlight a substantial improvement in the efficiency of sequential pattern mining through the application of this unique hybrid method,seamlessly integrating EMD and ACO for feature *** study exposes the potential of our innovative methodology,particularly in the realms of urbanization,native vegetation expansion,and agricultural activities.

This paper examines the long-and short-run dynamics of asymmetric adjustment between the nominal exchange rate and commodity prices,namely oil,palm oil,rubber,and natural gas prices,in Malaysia using monthly data from January 1994 to December *** relationship between exchange rate and each commodity price is examined in terms of Engle-Granger and threshold *** estimated results provide evidence of long-run threshold cointegration and show that the adjustments towards the long-run equilibrium position are asymmetric in the short ***,this study finds evidence of a unidirectional causal relationship running from the nominal exchange rate to oil price in the long and short run using a spectral frequency domain causality *** is also empirical evidence of bidirectional causality between the nominal exchange rate and palm oil price,rubber price,and natural gas price in the long and short ***,the findings have significant implications for the current debate on the future of primary commodities in Malaysia.

Influence of an oxygenated additive on emission of an engine fueled with neat biodiesel

Biodiesel obtained from mustard seed is found to be a promising alternative for petroleum diesel fuel owing to its similarity in physical and chemical properties. In this work, TiO2nano-fluid which acts as an oxygen buffer during combustion was added to mustard oil biodiesel(MOBD) to study its effect on emission characteristics of MOBD. TiO2nano-fluid can provide high surface energy during the course of combustion and reduces the limitations of neat biodiesel. A four-stroke, multi-cylinder,water-cooled, diesel engine was used in the experiments and was fueled with diesel, neat MOBD and MOBD with TiO2nanoparticles at 100 ppm(MOBDT100), 200 ppm(MOBDT200) and 300 ppm(MOBDT300). Experimental results revealed that the TiO2nanoparticles had positive effect on the emission characteristics of MOBD as it acted as an oxidation buffer. MOBDT300 showed a reduction in HC, CO and smoke emissions as compared to pure *** addition, NOxemissions were also reduced by the catalytic activity of the TiO2nanoparticles which reduce the peak combustion temperature. Therefore, TiO2nano-fluid had a positive effect on reducing the emissions associated with neat biodiesel.

In this study, the effect of doping hexanol into biodiesel which is from neat cashew nut shell biodiesel oil on the emissions and the performance characteristics was studied in a constant speed diesel engine. The main purpose of this work is to reduce various emissions and also to improve the performance of the diesel engine when fueled with blends of hexanol and neat cashew nut shell biodiesel. Cashew nut shell oil is not edible, and hence it can be used as a viable alternative to *** nut shell biodiesel is prepared by conventional transesterification. Hexanol with 99.2% purity was employed as an oxygenated additive. Experimental studies were conducted by fueling diesel as a baseline and by fueling hexanol and neat cashew nut shell biodiesel mixture. A fuel comprising 10%（by volume） of hexanol and 90%（by volume） neat cashew nut shell biodiesel was referred to as CNSBD900 H100 and fuel comprising 20%（by volume） of hexanol and 80%（by volume）of neat cashew nut shell biodiesel was referred to as CNSBD800 H200. This study also investigated the possibility of using pure biofuel in an unmodified naturally aspirated diesel engine. The outcome of this study showed that adding hexanol at10% and 20%（by volume） to cashew nut shell biodiesel results in a reduction in emissions. In addition, a significant improvement in brake thermal efficiency and reduction in brake-specific fuel consumptions were achieved. Hence, it could be concluded that hexanol could be a viable and promising additive for improving the drawbacks of biodiesel when it was used to fuel an unmodified diesel engine.

Synthesis of biodegradable Mg-Zn alloy by mechanical alloying: Statistical prediction of elastic modulus and mass loss using fractional factorial design

Biodegradable Mg-Zn alloy was synthesized using mechanical alloying where a statistical model was developed using fractional factorial design to predict elastic modulus and mass loss of the bulk *** effects of mechanical alloying parameters(i.e.,milling time,milling speed,ball-to-powder mass ratio and Zn content)and their interactions were investigated involving 4 numerical factors with 2 replicates,thus 16 runs of two-level fractional factorial *** of analysis of variance(ANOVA),regression analysis and R2 test indicated good accuracy of the *** statistical model determined that the elastic modulus of biodegradable Mg-Zn alloy was between 40.18 and 47.88 GPa,which was improved and resembled that of natural bone(30-57 GPa).Corrosion resistance(mass loss of pure Mg,33.74 mg)was enhanced with addition of 3%-10%Zn(between 9.32 and 15.38 mg).The most significant independent variable was Zn content,and only the interaction of milling time and ball-to-powder mass ratio was significant as P-value was less than ***,mechanical properties(represented by elastic modulus)and corrosion resistance(represented by mass loss)of biodegradable Mg-Zn alloy can be statistically predicted according to the developed models.

Scaled-up industrial water electrolysis equipment that can be used with abundant seawater is key for affordable hydrogen *** search for highly stable,dynamic,and economical electrocatalysts could have a significant impact on hydrogen ***,we prepared energy-efficient,scalable,and engineering electronic structure modulated Mn-Ni bimetal oxides(Mn_(0.25)Ni_(0.75)O)through simple hydrothermal followed by calcination ***-optimized Mn_(0.25)Ni_(0.75)O displayed enhanced oxygen and hydrogen evolution reaction(OER and HER)performance with overpotentials of 266 and115 mV at current densities of 10 mA cm^(-2)in alkaline KOH added seawater electrolyte ***,Mn-Ni oxide catalytic benefits were attributed to the calculated electronic configurations and Gibbs free energy for OER,and HER values were estimated using first principles *** real-time practical application,we mimicked industrial operating conditions with modified seawater electrolysis using Mn_(0.25)Ni_(0.75)O‖Mn_(0.25)Ni_(0.75)O under various temperature conditions,which performs superior to the commercial IrO_(2)‖Pt-C *** findings demonstrate an inexpensive and facile technique for feasible large-scale hydrogen production.

The analytical model for springback in arc bending of sheet metal can serve as an excellent design *** amount of springback is considerably influenced by the geometrical and the material parameters associated with the sheet *** addition,the applied load during the bending also has a significant *** a number of numerical techniques have been used for this purpose,only few analytical models that can provide insight into the phenomenon are available.A phenomenological model for predicting the springback in arc bending was proposed based on strain as well as deformation energy based *** results of the analytical model were compared with the published experimental as well as FE results of the authors,and the agreement was found to be satisfactory.
